Who we are:
We're a small group of DevOps Engineers from Sydney and Melbourne who love gaming and decided that we can do game hosting better with more automation and better performance tuning. As a result, we aim to provide solid, automated game servers at low prices (from that automation!)
This doesn't mean our support suffers either, just check out our reviews and ask our existing customers on our support Discord!
Check out our other offerings as well such as Valheim if you're interested.

  • Is Minecraft even multi-threaded?

  • +3

You can get free Minecraft serving here:
    https://aternos.org/:en/
You can add mods, maps, texture packs for completely free.

There are a fair few free Minecraft hosts out there (Aternos, Bisect etc.), However what we offer is that it is in Sydney Australia (your latency won't be horrendous) and that you will get the resources you need, many free hosts only give you a very small amount of RAM.

      • Can you share what ram requirements would be? How many players for example would 2Gb handle and how many would be suitable for each tier you have

        • +1

It depends entirely on the complexity of your world. So whilst 512MB RAM could be sufficient for 3-4 people all in the same area, not doing much and building only basic structures, the experience will very quickly start to degrade during a raid or when pushing the world boundaries.

For most people, 4GB RAM is often more than sufficient for Vanilla game play, with additional RAM requirements more so if you intend to install bigger modpacks. Not quite the answer you were probably looking for, but I hope that was at least somewhat helpful.

          • @MilkSupreme: I loaded up the Hermitcraft 7 map and it needed 4GB ram had 5 people on.

            • @Elpres: Oh nice! I haven't tried Hermitcraft before, is it similar to Adventure Mode style gameplay?

              • @MilkSupreme: Hermitcraft is actually a YouTube series with about a dozen youtubers creating stuff on there. Some names are Grian, Mumbo Jumbo, Rendog and Zombiecleo.
Just using the size/scale of their builds and how much memory may be required.

seems like an excellent price, been looking around for a server host recently and would have picked this if we didnt just end up with using a 3 month free trial of google cloud, but i'll keep this bookmarked for when thats over.

  • Does the game itself ever go on sale for PC?

    • Very rarely, last one I believe was for the 10 year anniversary in 2019.

      • Fair enough people still buy it at full price anyway

  • looking to get one server for my kids…they have about 10 kids playing at the same time. which spec should I buy?

    • Hi shaqie, that depends on the game. Which ones were you looking at?

Edit: Oops, this one is for Minecraft specific. If you're looking for big standard gameplay, then the 4GB one should be sufficient for most situations!

      Hope that helps!
