Crucial M4 SSD 128GB USD $179.54 + $25 UPS/Fedex from Crucial.com, Save $9.45

This isn't as cheap as Amazon one, but it's direct from the manufacturer.
It was USD$210 last time I check their website.
Now it looks like 5% off across the range.

I don't get your point as being "Direct From the Manufacturer". Why advantage does this have to pay $25 more?

I like my SSDs the way I like my women, virginal and untouched by anyone else but the maker?

yeah look, it does provide a novelty value and reduces the risk of any issues from previous handling, but at the end of the day i find that an ssd that has been gently broken in will work much better…a bit of read/write experience makes them operate more smoothly!

          They are SSD's.

If the hymen is broken, its broken when manufactured, not during shipping.

Why pay extra when it's cheaper from Amazon? This boggles my mind….

Yea not such a great deal there hugo. Amazon have a very good return/RMA policy if you have issues so really theres no benefit.

  • I think the positive we can take from this is that the prices seem to be coming down so maybe we can get Crucial SSds at an even lower price very soon.

I recently got my SSD direct from Crucial as the shipping was supposed to be a lot quicker than Amazon. Turns out my $25 shipping was an 'economy' shipped package and took just under two weeks to arrive from Crucial to Perth. I wish I would of went with Amazon - item was cheaper, as was shipping. I would of received it quicker.

When I ordered my Crucial RAM, I decided to just get it from Amazon. I paid $29.95 for 8GB SO-DIMM DDR3 (on sale) and $6.75 for shipping and had it in eight days.

    • Has anyone else had any recent experience from ordering from Crucial? I was about to put an order in (for memory as well as ssd) and the website says: "International orders are shipped via UPS International or FedEx International Priority. Transit time varies by location but generally ranges from two to five days"

Just wondering if I should see if I can source from Amazon/B&H now after luztra's story of slow shipping.

  • Mmmmm what's the point, Amazon cheaper…….. Noooooooo dealllllll

bugman, others have made that point already, no? You're just giving work to the mods to revoke your 'me too' vote.

he has the right to vote

          http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:voting_guidelines#nega…

The guidelines for the site say negative votes aren't to be used to just agree with others that have already neg voted.

        • if you ignore all the other comments mooboy, then bugman is making a statement that is valid by itself, rather than interpreting it as an agreement with others..

          @Darkhour.

Fair enough.. better than the 'as above' neg votes. But I still think first three posters covered all aspects why the Amazon one was better. Luztra actually added extra info about shipping, but didn't see the need to neg more, which I agree with. I just felt bugman was being unnecessarily negative on someone who has tried to post a deal in good faith.
