I see these on ebay, even the 75 inch version and do wonder what they're like in person.
These will be on the same level as Kogan (Sh1t) 1200:1 contrast ratio is a big issue, after shipping and manufacturer mark up there's very little left over for actual materials and technology/R&D.
Would personally stick to a TCL or HIsense as a bear minimum.

But hey dollar per inch basis you can't really go past these ;)

    • Whats the minimum contrast ratio needed for a decent TV nowadays

Entry level tcl's are pushing around 1:4000

        • Got any opinion on one of the following?

          1. FFalcon 55UF2 55" Ultra HD HDR Smart TV ($499)

          2. Polaroid 55" 4K Ultra HD Smart TV powered by webOS ($479)
            [on sale tomorrow]

Or should I still go for

          Hisense 58" S5 4K UHD Smart TV
(Currently $515 at The Good Guys with their $80 Store Credit bonus)

As long as it will last 6.5 years then I'll give it a try.

  • Personally I'd go EKO from Big W, it's not this cheap but you get Android TV built in. Plus if you know someone that works at Woolies or similar they get 10% off at Big W

    • Pity they seem to be shifting to WebOS for newer models. Haven't tried WebOS myself, don't tend to use the smart features on TVs but having built in Chromecast on Android TV was a nice feature.

      • From what people say, WebOS is decent. I just like the fact Android TV is like my smart phone. Playstore etc and you can go from one TV to another and it's all the same Eg TCL

      • Shame if they change over completely to WebOS. Android TV is much better than WebOS. Specially with the sideloading and built in chrome casting.
