  Build Year would not deter people in the Apple eco-system. Specially this is still using A12 chip.

      This was more my point… I should have been explicit. There is a new version coming really, really soon and it'd be worth seeing the differences before buying this for what seems to be a small-ish discount.

    Unfortunately good 8 inch tablets are non- existent outside this. I'm looking at replacing my 3.5 year old Lenovo as the USB C charge point is damaged and the battery is dying. Nothing of this quality or specs available from an Android tablet.
