Nice offer from Amazon, as part of early Prime Day offers.

Stack with [Targeted] AmEx Amazon Offer - $20 Cashback with $100 Spend, and that’s $25 worth of free money :D

You can add multiple smaller denominations to cart (e.g 2x $50, or 5x $20) - just note the minimum total is $100 in 1 transaction to qualify for the bonus.

During the promotional period, the first 10,000 Prime Members who purchase at least $100 in Amazon.com.au Gift Cards in a single transaction and enter the promotional code ‘GIFTCARD105’ in the ‘redeem a Gift Card or Promotional Code” box at checkout will receive a $5 promotional credit that can be used on a future eligible order. Your promotional credit will be automatically applied to your account within 5 business days after your order is shipped (for physical gift cards) or within 5 business days of your order being completed (for electronic gift cards). A confirmation email will be sent confirming that the promotional code has been applied to your account. Your promotional credit can only be used for purchases of eligible items shipped and sold by Amazon AU and will be applied during checkout. One promotional credit per account. Offer available for purchases made between June 18th and June 22nd 2021 and is valid while stocks last. See full terms and conditions below. • I can see the terms above say one promotional credit per account

Hoping the reason I’m getting this message isn’t because the first one didn’t work!

      Review items and delivery
      Qualifying offers
Congratulations. Your purchase qualifies you for a $5 promotional credit. You will receive an email confirming when the credit has been automatically applied to your account within 5 business days after your order is shipped (for physical gift cards) or the order being completed (for electronic gift cards).”

      yes on desktop too.

edit sorry forgot to enter code.
      now i see

  • Can you use gift card balance to purchase gift cards?

Get shopback discount or NIB 5% prior to purchasing this.

    • No, it told me I couldn’t use my gift card balance

    • No you cannot.

Your gift card balance can't be applied to orders that contain Amazon.com.au gift cards.

    • +1

      Infinite money loop!

  • Thanks OP
    5% is better than nothing

  • +1

The promotional credit can be redeemed until September 30th 2021, 11:59 PM (AEDT).

Set a reminder for the 27th of September or put something your calendar, to ensure you have spent the $5. This credit will likely arrive after prime day has finished.

    • +1

That is a hard target to achieve !

  • Thanks. Shame only 1 redemption per account.

  • +1

Not bad, but don't forget you're only really 2% better off if you already have access to 3% discounted Amazon gift cards

  • Thanks OP. it worked

  • Any insight as to why it’s not working on the app? Getting a “promo code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase”

    • Using latest app?

      • Yep! Added $100 to cart. Input promo code. Nada.

        • +1

          Weird. Try on desktoop

    • Use a laptop and and you’ll see the $5 message. Doesn’t appear on the app.

    • Same thing. Even tried clearing the cookies but to no avail.

  • Cheers OP. Worked like a charm.

  • +2

Not sure if it’s worth pinning to the top, but I spoke with the Amazon service team and they flagged it could be a glitch if trying to do this via the app. If you write to them and explain this, they’ll add a $5 credit to your account.

  • +1

Thank you for this. Ordered and just got the amex confirmation for $20 cashback.

    • -3

      How come 20$ cashback ?

      • +2

Pays to read the comment you just replied to …

  • +1

It's actually letting me pay for the new gift cards with my existing gift card balance, which was bought with 3% discount…

Is this a waste of my gift card balance, or is this a bonus? I can't decide, maybe it's too early & I need breakfast…

    • Wow how'd it let you? A message specifically popped up for me saying I wasn't able to use my gift card balance to buy a gift card

      • +1

Actually, no it looked like it was going to but failed!

        Sorry, my mistake.

Was going to edit my comment but you were too quick 😂

        • +2

Tokyo is calling him .. .ninja edit

"If you return any item purchased using the promotional credit, Amazon AU will only refund the price actually paid for the item (that is, less the value of the promotional credit) and the promotional credit will be invalidated."

  • +5

"During the promotional period, the first 10,000 Prime Members"
    May as well read
"During the promotional period, the first 10,000 OzBargain Prime Members"
    Lol

  • +4

    Lol, $5. Stingy af

    • +3

Also, the $5 is only usable on eligible items, which usually means "ships from AND sold by Amazon AU"

Also, the $5 would negate Cashback too, fyi.

This isn't really a great deal at all

      • Unless you stacked it with the AMEX $20 credit offer.

        • And used it on books with 0%

        • Unless you don't have amex.

      • +1

"Eligible Items" - which we've come to know as basically stuff nobody wants to buy :)

  • How long does it take to see the $5 credit or does it come as a code? Wanted to purchase something, but curious how long it will take

    • +1

I’m curious too because I haven’t got it after a few hours. Pretty sure I triggered it as code no longer works for me if I try buy another gift card

      • Me too. Ordered about 9:30 this morning but nothing yet. Oh well…must remember patience is a virtue or something…

        • +2

5 days from what I read, if I am not wrong

  • Anyone else forget to apply the promo code? face palm. Set up a new cart with another gift card and got
"You successfully redeemed your promotional code." - hoping it will apply to initial order..

    • +1

You won't get the $5 for the initial order.

  • +1

    weird
how long did it take to get a e gift card
    mines still processing since middday

    weird

    • 3 hours for me, paid with coles mastercard

      • got it after 3 hours too. last time was instant weird

  • So if I buy $300 gift card still only $5?

    • Correct.

Prime Members who purchase at least $100.

      And

      One promotional credit per account

      • +1

        thanks mate.

  • i just signed up for prime trail and i didnt see a Promotional Code” box at checkout so i added a card then it showed up at check out. thanks op

  • it says One promotional credit per account. has anyone been sucessful in getting a second one? no sure if its worth setting up another trial prime acccount.

  • +5

People going wild for a $5 credit for spending $100 on a gift card. What am I missing here? This is an average deal at best.

    • +6

Stacking it with the Amex deal does make the bonus a lot more generous

      • Sure, and I have an AMEX (but not the Amazon offer). What I mean its not really a great deal in itself if you require an AMEX to maximise the benefits. 5% off $100 spends are a dime a dozen. You can find 5% off discounts for Coles, Woolies, Amazon, plus many other major retailers across so many platforms every day. Just need to look at our own OzBargain discounted gift card wiki to see this. This deal is not worth 700+ votes imo.

    • +2

5% off for Amazon is slightly better than average. Top it up with AMEX Offer, it gets to 25% off!

      • It's not 5% off though

    • +5

People go bananas over $2 and $5 CR and SB deals 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • +1

You get a free card tin with it!

  • Getting an error saying code cannot be entered. Over? Yes I am a prime member

  • It's not that great when you consider you can get discount from Suncorp although 3% off. Great if you stack with the Amex offer, but average by itself

    • To qualify for the AMEX offer you must purchase from Amazon direct.

  • Can you pay your Amazon prime subscription using Amazon gift card?

  • Might be a silly question but where does one enter the promotional code ‘GIFTCARD105’ in the ‘redeem a Gift Card or Promotional Code” box at checkout.
I am buying 2 x $50 Giftcards totally $100 but not finding any Code Box when checking out or in Cart (Using browser on PC)?

    • +1

After you proceed to checkout, it's under the Payment Method.

  • Thanks for replying. Not on mine. I tested by adding a product (not gift card) and it does show. If however I add a Giftcard, there is nothing. I tried via PC and also via Amazon App. Strange indeed.

  • +1

    Might be expired now?

I got the "the promotional code can not be applied to your purchase" error.

    • I just used the code with no issues

      • Hm, I'll try buy it and see.

I added the code this morning and it said successfully added (but I didn't purchase it). Removed from cart and then when I tried again I got that error. Maybe once you add the promo in the checkout it adds it to your account?

        • My issue is that there is nowhere to add the code!

          • @Borg: That's weird, just saw your comments about it now.

There's a section under the payment options that says "redeem gift card or promo code" or something.

Wonder why it's not there on your end 🤔

            • @mangobango: Yeah, that shows up if I add anything EXCEPT giftcards. No idea why this would be on my account.

        • +1

From my experience, once you add the code and do not complete the checkout, it still registers this against your account. This is why the offer cannot be re-applied. I had this same issue purchasing a HDMI cable using the redemption code and closing the browser.

          • @sydney_kings: In my case, I never could add it. The Code box never appeared upon check-out (god knows I tried!). Have given up now as my Prime trial dub expired last night and won't worry about renewing as don't buy a lot to justify the membership fee for now at least. Thanks all for the feedback.

          • @sydney_kings: Yeah I thought it might be like this, bought them anyway so we'll see if the promo balance gets added.

  • Ordered gift card hour ago still not received. How long did it take for you to receive the 100 GC

    • It took exactly 12 minutes for me to get mine.

    • With verification, about 4 hours for me

      • Thanks now received and spent.

  • +2

anyone got the $5 credit yet??!? still waiting since last week

    • Try adding something to cart (fulfilled by Amazon AU) and see if the promo credit just appears?

      • Nothing, I bought monopoly game, the $5 credit didn't show up. I bought GC on Friday night.

        • same i just bought some ON protein power for > $100, all credit used up but no $5 to be found. I even got a message when i bought the $100GC last friday night saying im eligible… strange. I WANT MY MEASLEY $5 !!

          • +1

@RichieVn: Up to 5 "business" days before it might appear…

          • @RichieVn: Same, I'm worry now

            • -1

@vash12: Just hit up chat and get them to credit it directly to your account. Amazon support is good like that.

              • -1

@zzyss: I encountered 2 annoying amazon support, they request i wait 5 days. Depends on luck

                • @bazinga8888: Yup, my guy gives me 10$$$ credit directly and a big apology :P Try you luck

  • The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase.

    • just bought 1 and it worked

  • thanks op, just bought one and it worked

  • What an idiot. I didn’t enter the promo code!

  • +1

Still no extra gift card yet

  • Anyone actually received the $5 promo credit. I purchased when this was posted and still haven't shown up on any of my purchases yet.

    • +1

They always give it out after Prime day ends, so either today or tomorrow everyone should receive it.

  • Perfect use of my AMEX offer :) Seem to be amassing egift card balances from other places too eg Shopback!

  • I got an email this morning saying I got the credit and it has been applied to my account and to be used by 30 Sep.

  • I also got my e-mail just now

    • Same!

But before I checked my email I chatted to the amazon chat guy and said I didnt get $5 voucher, gave him another $100 GC order I did (For the amex offer) he said it was done on the 15th and was out of the promo dates but they will give me $5 anyways.

Now in my checkout I got:

      Promotion(s) Applied: -$10.00

      Qualifying offers:
      Courtesy Credit
      Gift Card Promotion

      LOL!

      • Just went on live chat and they noted it will be automatically credited within 5 business days, but manually credited me $5 so I was happy :)))) Guess I'll be getting $10 too ;)

(I have not received the actual $5 credit from this deal yet)

  • Not sure if it's been mentioned but the promotional credit is one-time use only.
I.e. if your order is cancelled or refunded, the promotional credit portion (in this case $5) is forfeited.

Source: just got off Amazon chat to confirm.
I placed a preorder for Zelda game and watch this morning (easily cancelled if I decide I don't want it before November). Used my promotional credit as I was half asleep, not so easily cancelled anymore.
