  • Will this work with Xbox Series X for upcoming FS?

    • -2

No, the consoles only allow hardware which pays them a steep commission.

  • Lots of review saying the quality control of these HOTAS is variable. Like buying a lottery ticket.

    • +1

So you could actually win, but it's extremely unlikely.

        Just like 737 MAX

Logitech products in general have lucky dip QA. Their X-series joysticks have been particularly notorious for falling apart after a few months of heavy use.

Prior to about 2010, their products were built to last, especially stuff like the Z-5500, G9x, MX518, G15 v1 and the G25. You can find testimonials on Amazon of people still using those iconic models to this day, 10-15 years later.

After 2010, they started aggressively cutting corners and in general cheapening the build quality of their gaming products.

      • +3

Bought Z-5500s in 2006. I’ve had to replace the fuse in the subwoofer twice since then but otherwise they’re still kicking butt 15 years later.

  • ThrustMaster are better if you can get your hands on them. T16000.M FCS HOTAS is similar price.

    • I have the T16000M + FCS HOTAS, and I wouldn't say the quality is that much better either. After nearly 6 months of regular gaming with space sim Elite Dangerous, the cheap potentiometer inside T16000M became loose and misaligned, I had to disassemble it to file and reseat it. But after a while it became loose again. Readjusted about 4 times and finally decided to retire it. Now I have the better quality (but more expensive) VKB Gladiator MkII.

  • I've been using the X56 for a couple of years now without issue.

  • Always trying to buy a controller for little brothers Xbox x for some flight simulator games, anyone can recommend?

  • Good deal and indeed Hot AS

For those interested in HOTAS gear, be aware VKB recently set up an Australian web store.

They make higher quality products than these mass produced offerings by Thrustmaster, Logitech etc.

    https://vkb-sim.com.au/

Gladiator NXT is their affordable joystick, the Gunfighter is their premium built-like-a-tank system.

They have a throttle on the way too.

    • 100% agree with this. At this price range go to the VKB Aus store and get the Gladiator NXT ($254 Delivered). Yes you don't get a throttle, but the joystick is in a different universe of quality to this. You can't go wrong.

    • Throttle might be a while away :(

  • (dumb comment - removed)

  • This is back up to $329 on Amazon. But over on Computer Alliance's eBay it's $312.55 delivered with code PLUSF5.

  • So for anyone that wants one of these make sure it’s the blue version and not the grey version. All the ones sold by Computer Alliance are currently the grey version

    • The older one is more reliable ?
