Lenovo N27p 27" 4K 60Hz IPS USB-C 65W PD Ergonomic Monitor $297 + Delivery ($0 to Metro/ OnePass/ C&C/ In-Store) @ Officeworks

120

Matching the lowest price for this relatively new monitor at $297 + delivery.

I picked one up today as a secondary monitor to my Dell U2720Q (also 27" 4K), and find the image quality in the same ballpark, though I'm no designer. It seems to have come quite well calibrated from the factory so not a lot to fiddle with to get it looking sharp.

I've noticed that the USB ports disengage when the monitor sleeps, so avoid plugging external drives into them. Also, it seems to take an extra 2 seconds or so to wake up compared to my Dell, but that is much of a muchness.

Lastly, Amazon has the same price but have no stock for 1-2 months, Centre Com has it for $299, and JB are offering it for $319.

It was $284 for C&C but Centrecom excludes monitors from free delivery.

Note that this is not really a discount or anything as I've picked this up about 3 weeks ago at this price.

I like this is a a USB-C monitor with PD, meaning i was able to connect my personal macbook air or my work lenovo laptop or my son connecting his macbook air without the need for any dongles or power adapter, which means a very clean and minimal setup.

As i'm not using it for gaming, this monitor is more than adequate and the price is good for a 4k USB-C monitor.

    • +1

That it has been at this price before doesn't mean this isn't a discount.

The regular price is closer to $400, and when it comes down to this price it doesn't last long.

You'll be hard pressed finding a USB-C monitor with 4k for cheaper.

    • As far as I'm aware, officeworks has been selling this monitor at this price for the past 3 weeks (could be even longer as i wasn't looking at monitors prior to 3 weeks ago).

i agree Officeworks is selling it cheaper than Amazon, Center Com, JB but i'm just saying since 3 weeks ago when I first looked at this monitor, OW has already been selling at that price. Personally I haven't seen OW selling it for higher since i started looking into it but I could be wrong.

It was ~$400 on Officeworks until yesterday.

I had been eyeing this monitor on Amazon whilst awaiting a refund, but missed out as they ran out of stock. Since, I've been watching the price elsewhere as the other monitor I considered (the Dell S2722QC) also went out of stock.

Yesterday, the price dropped to $297, matching the previous lowest Officeworks price and the price on Amazon. So I bought it.

It has not been sitting at $297 since the last posted deal.

    • Thanks for sharing your user experience.

Just a thought - drawback of a single cable is that the laptop is constantly on charge. Isn’t it generally recommended for battery longevity to avoid leaving it on charge all the time while it’s at 100%?

      • +2

Not too sure on the battery side but I would unplug it when i'm finished with it. And when I'm using the laptop I generally keeping the power connected… been doing that with my Lenovo for 5+ years and don't see an issue with that.

However, as OP mentioned, if I do turn off the monitor, there'll be no power coming through the USB-C to the laptop (I noticed it when I see that the laptop wasn't charging when i turned off the monitor).

Personally, I do recommend this monitor as a non-gamer and non-graphic designer.

The price is great, image looks good to my untrained eye, USB-C connectivity is a major plus as a macbook air user (that doesn't come with a HDMI/DP without using a dongle), the height adjustable stand is decent.

Scroll down for price history, good points from both.

It looks like a really nice monitor. Peak brightness is spec'd at 400 with normal usage ~350 is better than average.

The inclusion of 3.5mm jack is also nice.

Just a really nice well spec'd monitor at a low price.

I have this monitor, it’s great. Considering getting a second one soon.

  • +2

I'm using this monitors as part of my home office setup in a dual monitor set up.
Both price and performance it's more than enough for my needs.(I am an Autocad draft person). The price had stayed at $297 for quite a while, but a few weeks ago, Officeworks raised it. Luckily, I was able to purchase it a bit cheaper through a price match.
    Great buy.

  • Can anyone comment on if this screen will swivel virtically?

    • +1

It can swivel vertically in both directions, and this is how I am using mine as a second monitor.

      • Cheers, I actually picked mine up this morning and I'm using mine the same!
