      Cheers mate, added

    • +1

you are a god, I've been waiting for a deal on these!

      • +1

        Great headset btw! Super deal!

  • Got one cheers

  • +1

    Nice

  • +3

damn that's a good price… already have 2 controllers though. don't know whether I should buy any more..

    • +4

You make me wish I had three hands.

    • +13

if you're not going to even use it then it's a waste of money, regardless of price.

      • Oh yeah I know that, but I mean there's always the once or twice a year where I might play with more than 1 other player..

      • +1

Could be worth getting one at this price to tuck it away as a spare in the event one of the first 2 fail later on down the track. Unlikely to ever find one much cheaper than this, and you wouldn't want to count on there just happening to be a sale like this at the time your existing controller dies.

    • +1

Yeah same, got my spare for $100 so this is a great deal. I really want the red one!

  • +3

Great price on both, solid deal.

  • +4

only the white version, too bad

  • +1

    Wow surprisingly good deals

  • +2

Nice. Shame the black and red DualSense colours aren't similarly discounted though.

    • They only just came out, gotta give it some time…

  • +4

My Xbox series x controller keeps disconnecting on PC, should I refund it and buy this instead?

    How's the support for PC?

    • +8

Improving. New Metro Exodus game on PC actually uses the DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

      • +2

        Nice!

      • +2

Do you have to run through steam, or is it native support like xbox

        • +2

Yes Steam version and wired only for now.

          • @Hybroid: Does this mean it will work with only Steam games or do I need Steam running at all times to play any game.
For example, if I run a game launched via Epic Games, will this controller work?

            • +2

@Loopholio: Only Steam has the required API for now.

              • +2

@Hybroid: Got ya. A few seconds after posting I found this way down the bottom of an article:

If you want to use the DualSense in a game that you own on, say, the Epic Games Store, there's a solution that should work for just about anything, even emulators. The easy way to do it: Bring Steam back into the picture. Steam has an "Add to library" feature for Windows executables that allows you to add other programs to your Steam library, and then make use of the Steam overlay.

As you can see in the image above, click the "Games" menu in Steam, then choose the "Add a Non-Steam game to my library…" option to pull up a list of programs on your PC. In most cases, this should allow you to add a game and use a controller with Steam acting as the intermediary. Until we get a driver or a fan-made utility like DS4Windows designed to fully make us of the DualSense, this is the way to go.

I had the same thing happen to me as well. But the connection drops completely stopped once I updated the firmware. You can do that on PC as well

      • +1

I already have the latest firmware updated through the Xbox accessories app, but no luck.

This is my second unit too, I already had a replacement.

The disconnect issue seems to only occur on non-microsoft games. Games like Forza Horizon and Microsoft Flight Sim works fine. But any games launched from Steam/Epic disconnects. Metro Last Light Redux suffers the most with disconnects every few seconds. Have to play wired :(

        • +2

if you are using bluetooth you might want to use a xbox wireless adapter. I very rarely have any issues from it. https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/xbox-wireless-adapter-for…

        • +1

Could it be related to how visually intensive the games are? When I last used my Logitech mouse through Bluetooth (as opposed to the RF receiver) I would notice that when I had frame drops or just low fps in general, I'd get really bad latency through Bluetooth. Not sure if this is windows not being able to negotiate resources under heavy load.

      • +1

What's the process to update the firmware? Can it be updated without connecting to a computer via cable?

        • +1

i think the cable connection is required for updating it through pc, although i'm not sure if it's still the same if you use the wireless receiver. Not sure if it's the same through the xbox consoles.

On pc there's an xbox accessories app that handles the updates.

          • +1

@Voldemorts Flat Nose: alright. might do some googling later and see if I can update mine without having to boot into Windoze

    • +1

Buy an official xbox wireless adapter (the new slimmer one)… I had issues too, had the original xbox One dongle… Tried Bluetooth… All had issues… Bought the new slim adapter and it's been perfect ever since. Was $29 on amazon when I got it. Also make sure you have the latest firmware installed on the controller, but that wasn't the fix for me personally.

    • +1

I use it on PC via BT, works natively through Steam Beta.

There's a range of controller key binding templates that you can browse and pick between.

After maining a XB360 controller for 10 years, took a while to get use to this controller, particuarly for Rocket League, but it's a good Controller to use.

    • I heard 8Bitdo Wireless USB Adapter is good to use dualsense for switch and pc wirelessly

  • +3

    what about….ps5 consoles…….. :(

  • +1

    Awesome price! Thanks for sharing.
The Pulse is great value for that price

  • Anyone use with Chromecast w/Google tv? Is there a cheaper bluetooth controller I could get?

    • You can actually pair any bluetooth keyboard or mouse to the chromecast which might be cheaper. But otherwise generic bluetooth remotes from even other smart devices might work

  • +2

Omg these prime deals my wallet :(

    • I know right? I don’t need a second controller and one of the ports in my charging station is broken (Amazon refunded half the original price)

So I got one of each haha

  • Thoughts on Pulse headset?

Controller is cheap, $69 and I got gift cards from 10% off through Zip.

    Do I need a 2nd controller tho 😬

    • +4

Yes, you use one while the other is charging 😁

    • +5

The pulse headset is a pretty mediocre set of cans purported by Sony to be best for their "3D audio", which is complete crap, any set of stereo cans will do 3D audio just fine, I wouldn't really consider buying this headset even at it's discounted price.

      • I have the airpods max so they would do 3D audio on the PS5? Never tried it.

      • +6

Totally agree, I bought the pulse 3d headset at launch, the sound quality is very average at best.
        I personally wouldn't pay more than $80.

Why, in this day and age, won't the PS5 support 3rd party wireless headphones (without adaptors)?
        Mind boggling.

        • +6

Man I was baffled when the PS4 didn’t support BT headphones without an adaptor.. i thought SURELY they will learn from their mistake for the PS5…..

          • @Rimzi: I wonder now if you could tear out the components in the Pulse and slap it into a better fitting and with better speakers headset.

        • +1

Totally agree, underwhelmed is the word that comes to mind. Unfortunately bought a few weeks ago (discounted but not this price). Really surprised it needed a dongle and didn't use bluetooth.

Only plus is that I find them comfortable with my big head.

    • +1

How'd you get 10% off cards through zip mate?

  • Thanks OP - got a controller and the charging dock

  • +1

I keep waiting for this to sell out so it stops tempting me, wouldn’t mind another pc controller but there’s nothing wrong with the ds4…

    • The extra $10 off with the app swayed me. Damn you Amazon!

  • +1

My controller R2 broke and is now overly sensitive to pressure. Within 2 months of buying. My other two are fine though.

    • +6

2 months? That would be under warranty - return it!

    • +1

Just returned one from December last year to JB Hi-fi with exactly the same issue.
No problems with the return, (receipt but no box), swapped straight for a new one.
Guy there said they have had a few coming back

      • If I had known this I wouldn't have bought one. I use a game pad a few times per month so it could break outside warranty.

    • I have the same problem, thanks for posting. I didn't realise it was so common.

  • Oh mate, you rippa! Been wanting to grab a Pulse Headset for a while now. This was my first Amazon Prime purchase, maybe they'll stop letting me know I have an unused membership benefit!

    • +2

      No they won't.

The only Prime thing I don't use is their music offering. I get this email constantly.

  • +1

Amazing price! Was going to wait for my $5 voucher and get a cosmic red, but this is too good to refuse!

  • +2

Thanks, too good a price to pass up for the controller.

  • +2

Grabbed controller for $69 and the charging station for $35 thx OP

  • HOLY MOLY!!!

  • +1

thank you for the controller :)

  • +7

Don't even have a PS5 yet but grabbed one.

    • +4

Yep grabbed one for when i finally get the chance to get a PS5 😭

  • +1

    Grabbed a controller! Dirt cheap.

  • This should be a regular price

  • Is this the cheapest headset compatible with the PS5?

    • +1

To clarify, PS5's Tempest 3D audio engine supports any headphones, you don't need to get the Pulse headset for 3D audio. Just plug in any good set of headphones into your DualSense controller, and it'll work. I'm using my Alessandro MS-1, it works great.

I was tempted by the Pulse but I read lots of reviews where people said it hurts your ears after a while due to excessive pressure, and this is a problem I've had with a lot of gaming headsets.

  • Thanks OP, got them.

  • +1

Does anyone have a good bluetooth adapter to pair this with for PC?

    • +1

The usb receiver that comes with it connects to you pc, I use mine on my PC

      • +1

Does the controller comes with usb receiver?

    • I heard 8Bitdo Wireless USB Adapter is good to use dualsense for switch and pc

  • +1

thank you, I got one :)

  • +3

    15% CB at 4pm

  • You can't even use this with non-Steam pc games?

  • Tempting…except I don't have a ps5 yet..

    • +2

Use it for PC for now then get PS5. That's what I plan on doing

  • It works as a generic gamepad, but vibration might not work and keymaps might need extra setup.

  • +2

    Bought one… Before I can even get a console…

  • I wonder is there any place we can see and compare red/black controller? keen to buy the new color

  • Think it's all gone. Only used ones left for $80.

  • What to do with a controller without a console…..

    • +1

Play it with your paper edition ps5
