  bought a 4TB hard drive just the other day
  and found out afterwards that neither my TV nor my blu ray player can read hard drives over 2TB

  Do check compatibility if that is what you are buying it for

    I believe the Expansion drives you were referring to needs a PSU to be plugged into.
    As far as portable drives go at this price with the brand, it's pretty good value
