Sony Bravia KDL32BX320 32" LCD TV Back at $299 at Dick Smith

110

Dick Smith have put the Sony 32" KDL32BX320 model back on sale at $299. Since this one here had a decent bit of support and is now expired, I'm reposting it:
http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/62897

I don't remember when this sale expires but I'll update this post once I check. In the meantime, a name brand 32" (especially a sony) for $299 is pretty good in my opinion. Available both in store and online, but I don't think this one has free delivery on it. You can reserve stock using click and collect from the website and pick up in store.

Note: I'm a Dick Smith employee but am not posting this on their behalf or as a representative of the company. I've ticked the rep box nonetheless.

EDIT: The last day of this deal is 11/02, so this is a weekend only offer looks like.

I don't think you should be ticking the rep box if you're not posting on their behalf.

I didn't think so either but the form said
"Check this box if you are affiliated with this store/service provider in any way (e.g. official store representative, employee, business partner, contractor, friend/family of staff member). Note: Failure to declare affiliation may result in sockpuppeting penalties."

Seeing as I'm an employee, should be the right thing. Either way, I'm being open about it so shouldn't be a biggie.

I would say this makes you a puts on glasses good representative.

Not a bad tv for the price, but not full HD so wouldnt recommend using it as a monitor.

wont go for lcd tvs.. they are just too thick imho..

    • Yeah just like CRT and Rear Projection :p

  • +3

would really expect full hd around this price

  • If full HD will be a great deal, HD only for a large display doesn't make sense.

For screens upto 32" HD is fine, tests were done and its very hard to discern the difference, according to a number of A/V magazines

The picture on the Sony KDL32BX320 is one of the worst televisions that Sony has ever made. This tv is "Made in China" and not up to the usual Sony standard. Sony tvs are usually Made in Malaysia and of a much higher picture standard. Not Good Enough Sony!

    • Link to where it says it's made in china

You think it's re badge a Sony?

      • The link is: "look on the back of the tv".

    • Johnd

Google only shows this as made in China based on YOUR report here. back it up please. Otherwise your vote will be removed

You have just gone on a neg vote spree - read the guidelines please on this as you are ignoring them

Misusing negative voting undermines its impact and its warning.

      • As above, look on the back of the tv. Some times you need to get out from behind the keyboard.

      He's talking crap.

      http://support.sony-asia.com.edgesuite.net/consumer/IM/42704…

It says it's manufactured in Japan. The only thing made in china was the manual.

      • Have you looked at the tv in the flesh. I have looked at it and on the back of the tv, it states "Made in China". In fact the only thing Sony about it, is the badge. I put it you, that the tv is made by Hisense.

        • I agree, its an ordinary TV, crappy media player and average PQ, but a fairly good price if you have to have a sony badge to keep you happy.

  • Groundhog Day!

  • If only it supported playback of avi/divx files via usb instead of mpeg.

  • last week they had the same TV but the 40 INCH version $399.
plus cant you use paypal codes to get it even cheaper?

    • If I'm not mistaken that it was $499.

Also it was the CX520, this is the BX320, which is a different (lower spec) model. The CX520s (which you can also get in 32") are FHD and are also internet TVs.

Not sure if there are any coupons floating around at the moment, don't really use DS online myself.

  • its a nice tv with good picture
    good value

  • I saw this TV in the shops on the weeked, has good black levels and a realistic image.

I voted negative for this deal. I have looked at the tv in the flesh. This Sony has grey blacks and is not typical of Sony usual picture quality standards. On the back of the tv, it states "Made in China". In fact the only thing Sony about it, is the badge. I put it to you, that the tv is made by Hisense.
