  • Except liquorland are more expensive by $10 more, than BWS and DM, on all the cartons I was looking at.
If cash rewards doesn't track or gets denied, I'm paying more than I would elsewhere, regardless of cash back or such

Depends what you’re buying. Liquorland often have epic prices on spririts.

    • So for what I'm buying;

      Stella Artois - Dan's - $50 BWS - $50 Liquorland $49
      Praga - Liquorland $40 - doesn't exist at Dan's or BWS
      Somersby Cans 10 pk - Dan's $20 Liquorland $20 BWS $27

Plus free delivery above $100 even to areas outside of metro unlike many of the others.

So it definitely does depend on what you're buying.

    • Are you comparing something on special at BWS vs not currently on special at Liquorland. I have never seen a big gap like this before unless its somebody comparing something on special at one store and not on special at the other.

But overall I find Liquorland prices to be better than BWS. My mate who works at BWS agrees.

    • Was looking at Canadian Club and dry, or Jim beam and cola, cans, 24can carton.

      • Thought I would quickly check one myself locally here in FNQ.
Canadian Club 24 pack carton of cans.

BWS $83 (Save $11) = Not on Special Price $94
LiquorLand $92 currently not on special so full price.

Certainly can not compare apples for apples when one is not on special the other is on special.

Don't forget SITEWIDE code for 10% off. The CashRewards plugin reminded me of that one.

I think this is a really good bargain:
    https://www.liquorland.com.au/spirits/aerstone-land-cask-10y…
$61 standard price, down to $50 in the catalouge, minus 10% with "SITEWIDE", plus $9 cash back. 36 bucks. You're basically stealing from their children's mouths.

    • Good call. Looked at that Aerstone but grabbed a bottle of Monkey Shoulder for $54 (Works out to $39.77 with cashback I think) I haven't had either before.

    I grabbed 2 bottles of hendricks gin for $124 - 20%

$50 per bottle is a great buy for Hendricks

  • Still don't understand how it takes 90 days to "confirm" a purchase, in the digital / internet era.

2x slabs of Praga 500ml + 2x bottles Bacardi for $134 less 20% isn't bad. Now to wait until my birthday to get the cash back!

The reasoning is really quite simple. They (the merchant) want to ensure that the order isn't declined, cancelled or returned and 90 days is generally a good amount of time to determine that. Let's say the approval time was 24 hours, what do you think people will do? Order, wait 24 hours, get cashback and then return order for full refund.

      • So the merchants decide on the duration customers wait to receive cashback, or CR does?

        • +3

The merchants and the affiliate networks do. CR have little control on approval times.

          • @Clear: Thanks for clarifying mate, appreciate it.

  • So if ordering say $100 using the 10% sitewide code, bringing it down to $90. What is the 20% based on (plus I believe it's ex GST)?
    Cheers

Price paid after discount less GST

  • $46 for Cointreau before cashback.

Nice. Margaritas on the weekend confirmed.

  • Awesome. Grabbed a coupla slabs. 112.50 after 10% off and minus another 20% CB and now I am laughing all the way to the bank.
Grabbed a Coopers Stout and Tinnies Hazy Pale. Am hoping the Hazy pales are good 🤞
