Been looking at these for a while and this is close to or the cheapest I have seen. Last best price was around $101 but that was with a fright forwarding service.

  • To me is shows AS: $48.99 + No Import Fees Deposit & $16.82 Shipping to Australia.

Am I looking at the wrong one?

    • Also… is it possible to get it delivered for free with Amazon Prima Australia?
(yes, I am an Amazon newbie :) )

    • Then add 10% GST

      • Ah right! well as replied below… I am an Amazon newbie :D

        • No worries, you won’t get free delivery either, they are separate Prime programs, your AU membership means nothing on the US site.

          • @Pecan: Thanks. I will get one of these!
I really miss the Ambilight that I had on my Philips something like 10 years ago

  • Is there a version without the camera thingy sticking out of the TV?

    • +1

There is but it is much more technical. It’s called Hyperion Project. Alternatively there’s the costly Hue lights.

    • I have seen a similar project which uses a camera that you place inbetween your seat and the TV, such as on a coffee table or something. I can't remember its name or how it compares with the Govee but it is definitely out there.

  • It comes with a DC adapter so you'll need a converter as it's US?

    • Yes

    • Received it today. Not sure if a converter and a reverse travel adapter is the same but all it needed was a reverse travel adapter for it to turn on.

  • Showing as unavailable now… was just about to buy it :(

  • Is this the same

Govee LED TV Backlights, WiFi TV LED Strip Lights with Camera, Work with Alexa and Google Assistant, RGBIC TV Lighting with APP Control and Music Sync, for 55-65 inch TVs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JKVKZX8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_…

    • The link you posted has 3 sections, the one OP posted has 4 sections.

      • Right, thanks much!

    • This one is the old model. The new model is much better.

  • Code IWTB gets it down to $71.20 USD from the Govee store https://us.govee.com/products/immersion-tv-backlights but you'd need to use a shipping forwarding company to get it (they only deliver to USA).

Anyone know best / cheapest shipping forwarder atm?

  • Out of stock for now, but just be aware anyway - this fits 55" - 65" TVs only.
You'll need a 5m length strip for 75" TVs (which govee currently do not sell in the "immersion" style models).

    • could you not replace the LED's with your own longer strip (I have a few laying around from trying this set up ages ago with a raspPi 2 and plex)

    • I fitted mine on a 75

Damn, Been wanting one of these for ages. The H6199 had a lot better reviews compared to the H6104.

Oh no missed out whyyy deal not seen by me earlier. … Sighssss

  • Paid 79 =(

  • Interesting design around how complex it is to get a hdmi signal and why the hue alternative is so expensive and not a good future proof option (no hdr pass through for next gen)

  • I hope there is only the need for an adapter and not a converter

  • Ahhh I missed it 😭

To update my order on this. My one was faulty where each 3 light section would spaz out randomly and grow in sections until the whole strip was strobing white very quick. Govee said they can't send replacements so I asked Amazon they sent out another and I've just set it up again today.

Returns were difficult. Amazon chose DHL drop off and the closest to Sydney is Tuggerah on the Central Coast. Not exactly wanting to go that far to return it especially whats going on now. They've let me keep the faulty one.

      • Oh very odd… At least you got another one!
I'm hoping the price will drop a bit ASAP - $145 AUD through Amazon at the moment.

I wonder why Govee don't ship here - they ship to EU/UK and CA/US

I asked them about that when I was in contact about the replacement. This was their reply to stock availability in Australia.

"Due to market demand, Australia currently has relatively few products. There are no plans to expand the Australian market in the near future. However, we will consider expanding the market based on customer feedback and needs."

          • @Applause: Sent them a message about it too! Never know, the two of us might be enough ;)

Unlucky..I got mine on Prime day too and works a treat. I also have the Govee Flow Pro bars set up, in combination with the Immersion. Looks amazing.

Amazon are pretty easy going with faulty items, they have always been very accommodating from my experience.

        • You can get a Newer lens to make the colour caption more accurate

  • Update: this is slightly discounted at Amazon currently - $119~ delivered
