  • Does this need battery replacement to recharge or can you charge via a cable?

      Battery replacement

    • +1

      A single replacable AA battery

      • Ozbargainer Eneloop

        • yeh would be awesome if it would charge the enerloop over USB, but i havent tried that, and i seriously doubt it would.

          • @DanielP2: unfortunately this mouse does not have an USB port on the mouse, you have to find/charge the AA battery somewhere

Source: I have been using this mouse since the start of COVID-19 WFH

            • @frkino: oh lol, so it doesnt. I bought one for my wife last year, but havent really paid much attention to it. I have the Basilisk Ultimate so just assumed there was a USB port in the same spot on hers too.

  • Talk about a copy paste G502

    • but better

      • Oh really? How so? Looks like a rubber wheel vs metal. It is much cheaper though ;-)

        • Yeah honestly the differences are miniscule and I was half joking but the basilisk doesn't suffer from the infamous double clicking issues and while razer synapse isn't perfect, it's far better than logitech's software. The hyperspeed is awesome value, it's main issue for me though is the physical battery which is a slight nuisance but also had drop out issues for me where the mouse would lose power, don't know if this happened to everyone but I just bought the basilisk ultimate and I couldn't be happier.

@fAffY: I had to replace my G502 because of a double clicking LMB. It was either between the G502 Lightspeed or the Basilisk Ultimate, and i went with the Razer. Both are great mice.

            • +1

@DanielP2: We are going on nearly 6 years with 6 G502's in the office, zero failures. We also have quite a few G500's which are my favourite mouse of all time, and a few MX Masters. The one time I went with Razer, we let the devs choose, and there was a variety of Razer mice, none survived their budgeted term of 3 years. This could be entirely coincidental though.

This one does interest me though due to price.

              • @onlinepred: Very lucky for your office. I've had my MX Master develop double click. Along with my G903 and MX Anywhere 3. Keep in mind these are all Logitech's top of the line mice that I paid a lot for (all over $100). Now my (current) G703 is having disconnect issues I might never buy a logitech mouse again which is a shame since I really like their shaping and feel.

                • @Michael15286: Appears from amazon reviews that connectivity issues are present with the Basilisk also :-(

                  • @onlinepred: l can vouch, for all mice here, it seems quality control issues exist and it's about luck, but yeah the basilisk hyperspeed definitely can suffer from dropout issues, it was power loss for me where I had to reseed the battery.

              • @onlinepred: I miss the old G9 (and G9x). I used those for many years back in the day. The G502 was a worthy replacement for them though and would probably be my all time favourite mouse. I am liking my basilisk ultimate though. The scroll wheel is adjustable, but it cant spin as freely as the logitech. I have also had it not sit properly on the charging cradle a couple of times since ive had it, but ive learned to check before leaving it now, so thats not really an issue. Ill be very disappointed if this doesnt last at least 5 years though considering what i paid, so fingers crossed.

                • @DanielP2: The G9x is what started my one sided love with Logitech. It was so nice to use and lasted 8 years! But ever since then I've had bad luck with Logitech

        • not sure id agree that its better. Its a great mouse though, especially at this price. The G502 does feel to be higher quality than the Basilisk X but also costs more.

          • +1

@DanielP2: that's true the g502 probably uses higher quality materials, but the hyperspeed doesn't in any way feel cheap and is well worth more than it costs!

g502 has 3 more macro buttons tho,

  • My daily work rat.

The only issue is when I leave for a bit, it takes few milliseconds to come back to the senses (back online from battery saver perhaps).

    Rest, no issues whatsoever.

    I have this. Great mouse.

I am a bit obese in collecting mouse…
      I got

      Logitech G Pro
      GMMK Model O
      Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed
      Logitech M275
      Microsoft Sculpt Mobile Mouse

This Basilisk X Hyperspeed is the best between gaming and office use in my opinion.
The Bluetooth + 2.4 connections allow me to switch between home PC and the work laptop easily with just the switch under the mouse.

      • can i ask about the delay? is it on par with the g pro?

        • +1

M… Personally I would use G Pro for FPS if serious (but I am not a pro player).

While Basilisk with 2.4 GHz connection, I didn’t find any delay as of now. It should do the work, but I rather use it when doing causal gaming since I got better option… And by making non-essential clicks away from the G Pro, I wish to have it last longer.

          • @CyrusL: Thank you. I used to distrust wireless gaming mouae because of the delay until Logitech tiny little g304 blew my mind. I can't tell it's wireless at all.

If razer were on par with g304 (let alone g pro) im all over it

        • +1

I haven't noticed any delay increase from my Razer Death Adder (wired).

dont waste money on logitech, double click issue and not built to withstand after warranty expires.
    Have X Hyperspeed and happy.
