IMOUBT2C

Imou are having a repeat of the Bullet 2C camera and now slightly cheaper than last time.

this has motion tracking with human detection so you can receive an alert when a person is seen by the camera. It uses WiFi/Ethernet (no PoE) for connectivity and has an inbuilt wifi hotspot so you can stream and playback footage when there is no internet connection.

Other features include H.265 1080p video, 2MP Sensor, Night Vision, IP67 waterproof rating, two-way audio, NVR/Cloud/MicroSD storage, wall/ceiling mounting, RTSP/ONVIF and an app for iOS, Android and PC. Since Imou are the consumer brand of Dahua it should work with DMSS too.

  • Thanks OP

  • These any good? 2MP seems small?

    • it is one of the better ones.. the 2mp sensor works really well at night

  • is there a way to set it up without registering at IMOU (ideally without the phone app)?

    • +1

yes u can download the dahua smart pss software or the dahua configtool and setup from there.

if u got a dahua nvr , u can setup from there as well.

      • does that software allow for view on computer?

        • yes the smart pss has live view

      • Can one make rtsp work without the security code?
Does this really support onvif, or it is just rtsp? The tinycam app usually detects Imou devices as "dahua" and not "onvif", and if configured as "onvif", the camera does not report that rtsp url. I am asking as I just returned another Imou device with PTZ which I could not control from anywhere (like, tinycam or homeassistant) but its app.

        • yes..

you need to initialise it first to set up your own password.

i never use the safety code for all my imou cameras

          • @cezasu: I want no password at all, is that possible? The security code is weird, I had a camera (sent it back this morning :) ) which only sends rtsp to vlc with the security code (from a sticker) but refuses to do the same to tinycam - for that stream it only accepts my new custom password. bizarre stuff.

            • @aik: I haven't tried that and I don't think it will be possible.

That would be a security issue in itself.. would u want others to look at your video?

              • @cezasu: I'm not letting the camera go to the internet and i have my own https with the password so i don't really see what the camera password buys me, instead i have a problem with vlc on my android which does not allow password for rtsp before the address, only if the camera allows passing it via ?password= parameter in the url.

Other cameras allow having no password, the ones that use "icsee" app.

                • @aik: can you add the password into the rtsp string like the below ?

                  rtsp://admin:[email protected]:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0&unicast=true&proto=Onvif

                  • @cezasu: exactly this does not work, this is a known vlc-on-android bug :-(

                    • @aik: maybe try other alternative video player? eg mpv-android

                      • @cezasu: Sure, I can go mpv. tinycam shows the stream. But this is not the point here I am making :) I want a camera "which just works" with every device with no or very easy setup, like it used to be - start camera in a setup mode with wifi hotspot, connect, open web interface, do the thing, done. But these days they all want email (and they verify it!), they want constant internet, cloud, mandatory "security", etc. And almost none can do streaming over HTTP, they only do RTSP which is rather pita to configure nginx to proxy. ESP32-CAM is the closest to what I want but the camera modules suck big time.

                        • @aik: I have never connected any of my imou's to the internet even for 1 second.

U need a proper Video Management Software to do what you need to do.

                          check out blueiris.

if you go blueiris route, u need to get both the pc software and andriod client.

  • Got another thanks OP, last one works well in shed in day and night and picks up people entering the shed perfectly. Notification to my mobile works well.

    • What kind of recordable-worthy activities are going on in this shed that you speak of?

      • manly man stuff…

      • you do not want to know. But yes it work well :)

    • which model was that and how much paid?

      • Same model and was around this price like $42 bucks from memory.

    • did you tie it to the IMOU app or via SD CARD?

  • +1

How do you power this ?

    • only way to power it is via the supplied 12v power adaptor

  • cloud plan cost
    https://imoulife.com/activity/newyear

    Whats the alternative?

    • record to sd card
      record to dahua nvr
      record to blueiris etc…

      alternative are endless.

  • How to put this outside since it uses power plug?

  • Hi, the promotion code is invalid anymore. Could you please publish another code?
