  • so what cities are available (just curious)?

Wish this was for the place in Darling Harbour, rather than at Bankstown. There's really no need to for these ultra-high-end flight simulators to be at an airport, since you're not actually flying. And airports in general tend either to not be in the most convenient locations, or to have high parking charges if they are.

    • Actually in this case I'd disagree. Bankstown airport is dead easy to get to and stacks of free parking?!?!

Um, I don't think this is much of a deal, given that it's very expensive for the simulator when you could fly a real single engine prop for an hour at around the same price. Bankstown for example: http://www.schofields-flying-club.com.au/rates.asp

    • Um that would be true except that as a non-member of the club you have to pay an additional $30 per hour to fly and the minor detail in their terms and conditions that states:

"it is a requirement of the Club that you present your logbook, pilot's licence and medical certificate to the Duty Pilot or staff member for confirmation of currency prior to undertaking a flight." ….??

    Hi folks,

You can choose to fly anywhere in the world—so clearly I cannot go about listing cities.. the sky's the limit (sorry, couldn't resist!) and you get to choose the weather condition too if you want to amp up the adrenalin rush!

This experience differs from others because of the "6 degrees of freedom (6DOF) electric motion systems"… which in English essentially means that it is true 'full-motion' as opposed to most other simulators where the sensation of movement is purely based on the visual moving in front of you.

These guys run out of bankstown airport because they previously only operated as a pilot training facility. They have only just opened up to the general public.

This is not a 'group buy/daily deal' style offer. We are currently featuring this special price of $145 because Global Wings are a new addition to our Top50 Guide. After this week it will continue to be available on the Lime&Tonic Top50 Guide where you will be able to purchase it year round, just at a lesser discount.

    Have a happy friday guys!

  • Just letting you know guys, this is whats known as a 'synthetic trainer' in the Aviation business. Whilst it might be a little fun for someone who has never flown an aeroplane before, it can't reasonably be compared to the level of replication achieved at a place like Flight Experience. $145 is rather pricy.

  • Hi Rep,

Would you be willing to extend the voucher use-by date an extra month? My girlfriend's birthday is mid September and this would be an ideal gift for her (as she loves aviation and has always wanted to try one of these full-motion simulators).

      Hi Maxamillion21
We would love to help you out with your request. Please email us at [email protected] and we will arrange it for you ;)
Thanks and have a nice weekend.

      • Thank you for the reply daisty. I'll send through an email tomorrow.
Cheers and I hope you have a nice weekend also.

  • From their website, it's probably worth noting (given that the rep hasn't really emphasized it) that this is a full motion simulator. Others that I've seen for public use are only limited motion (i.e. looks like a cockpit, doesn't move like a cockpit).

Rep, can you do HK Kai Tak circa 1986?

    • I guess, you like cross wind landing ;P
