Bosch 8kg Front Load Washing Machine WAN24120AU $695 C&C /+Delivery @ The Good Guys / $590.75 with Afterpay @ The Good Guys eBay

460
PAYAFT15

Cheapest I've seen an 8kg Bosch washer, and it's 4.5 star for both water and energy use. Hard to make a case for no name stuff at this price. From the previous deal's comments, if you want it delivered GG charge $55, the unit is made in China but has the same drive and 10 year drive warranty as the more expensive German models, and my experience with bosch stuff from outside Germany is that it's excellent quality.

Also can get it for $590.75 C&C / + Delivery on their eBay Store(ebay.com.au) using PAYAFT15 and paying with Afterpay
Credit to @doweyy for the suggestion of ebay and @dealbot for the original PAYAFT15 code post

no more Bosch, could not clean well

honestly once you have seen how one of these things work, it's a barrel that turns your clothes in a tub of water. If you are having issues with how clean things are coming out it's probably your soap or water. The only point of difference is reliability and parts, with the odd feature.

  • Want a large top loader on a good special dammit

    • Some aldis may still have their 10kg ones, the front loaders all sold out on the day but the top loader that were cheaper didn't (saw one at Menai yesterday)

Buying a Chinese made GERMAN brand.

Bit like Paying a premium for a German brand car and it's not made in GERMANY, loses most of it's appeal.

PS: I have the German made version.

You're just trying to reassure yourself for the extra money that you gave.
Had this exact washing machine for almost two years before i moved cities and it was the best machine i ever had, very good wash, quiet and clothes come out almost dry.

Probably the German version is better but a Chinese made bosch doesnt lose any appeal.

    • How do you check where the Bosch machine was made? I also prefer the one made in Germany rather than in China.

      • It's on their web site.

      • Used to be that the 8kg and over was European and the smaller were China. Not sure now….

Apple phones and laptops are made in china no one complaines.

lots of german cars arn't made in germany anymore.

      EG:
BMW US Manufacturing – Greer, South Carolina, USA
      BMW X3
      BMW X4
      BMW X5
      BMW X6
      BMW X7

BMW San Luis Potosí – San Luis Potosí, Mexico
      BMW 3 Series

Magna Steyr (Contract plant) – Graz, Austria
      BMW Z4

  • Bummer. I would've bought the Series 8 one but you can't C&C for some reason.

  • Waiting idos deal

    • -2

That sounds like a great idea, but not in practice. If your water bottle is 1L, it always holds 1L. But if your laundry detergent isn't good, then you can throw that idos of yours through the window. It simply wont clean as good as with a quality detergent, since it can't differentiate between them and know whether it needs to use more or less for the same result.

      • +1

I have no idea what you are on about. Do you employ Barnaby Joyce to write your posts?

        • You don't? Well, read deals about laundry detergents, posted here and you'll see not all are created equal. Which means, using the same amount, but different detergents will not give you the same result as some laundry detergents are not good and that is something your washing machine can not take into consideration. All it knows is how much to put depending on your settings.

          Prove me wrong.

          • @bargainparker: Bad detergents wash badly, better detergents wash better?

            What a revelation.

            • @Astronaut Joe: Putting the same amount of bad and good will not clean the same. Your idos doesn't know that. What a revelation.

              • @bargainparker: Put the same amount of good or bad detergent in any machine and the same thing will happen. Geez. Indeed, what a f**king revelation.

                • @Astronaut Joe: Except, you are relying on idos, not a human. There's a difference, because a human will know that one is not like the other. Yeah, Geez. Indeed, what a f**king revelation.

  • Very tempting but I wonder how good is the 10 years warranty. Is it like "That part is a consumable and isn't covered under our term and conditions" kinda thing (or any other way to dodge repairing)?

    • Will probably break before the drive breaks, as rest of it is 2 years.

    • It's genuine, as the service tech has to account for the parts used in a repair, so they can't just replace the motor but not mark that and instead charge you for some other part.

Of course, as said above, it's quite possible another part will break before then such as the drum bearings which is usually not practically repairable. But if everything else is still working, and then the motor fails under 10 years, it should be covered.

  • Thanks OP!

  • Thanks OP, Bought one!

  • Thanks OP! Wonder what the main differences between Bosch Serie 4 and 8 are

    • +4

      The answer is 4

      • Don't forget 2 + 2 = 5 nowdays.

        • Look! a sheep's wearing a mask! holy sheep!

          • @ntt: Meh I'm nothing special… I noticed plenty of me around again from Monday night.

  • Anyone knows how long the afterpay deal will last?

    • This

  • Just on the size recommendations for front loaders, everything I've read state washing doonas. I'd assume a 7.5kg would easily be able to wash king size sheets?

    • Yeah I was my king sheets in a 7.5kg

  • Any other deals on front loaders?

  • Looks like the Afterpay/Ebay deal has expired.
