Who reported this for out of stock? Plenty of stock around me.

  • +7

This is a good price for any weighted blanket from anywhere regardless of quality. I love mine a lot.

  • Product description:

“…filled with a combination of polyester fibre and glass beads.”

I wonder how big the beads are and what happens if the beads get out. Sounds like a child hazard..

    • That's what gives you the "weighted"

    • +16

You can be risk-averse about anything if worried enough.; it's parents' responsibility. Should we stay away from bean bags, too?

      • +8

Whoa whoa whoa … Parents taking accountability for their little regrets?? Where do you think this is, a third world country ??

        But seriously, agree with ya

      • -3

Bean bags have the word 'bean' in the name. It's more obvious.

        • +4

Thankfully we don't have to spell everything out for caution to be applied.

        • +3

Somebody should deliver the item to my house and provide a full safety briefing on the correct operation of the product, including all potential hazards for incorrect and all potential unintended uses.

At the end of that briefing I should be able to return the product for a full refund if it doesn't fall within my risk appetite.

This should all be able to be done within the $37.50 cost envelope. I have rights.

        • Yeah, glass ball duvet just doesn't roll of the tongue that easily.

    • I always thought 'weighted blankets' meant thick material. Have they always had weights inserted? Imagine buying this, it gets a hole, and you go skating on a hard floor and snap your neck!

      • +3

make sure you stream it… :)

    • This is way too heavy for children

    • +1

Yeah these were on sale a few weeks ago and I thought about buying it and when I saw that it was filled with glass beads I thought nah. Seems unnecessarily risky, what if my dog decided to give it a chew and swallowed beads… Also just wear and tear, at some point are glass beads pouring out if it? sounds like a nightmare.

  • +16

These blankets are worth their weight.

    • These blankets are worth their weight in glass. :)

  • +7

Weighted blankets act like a hug, using a technique called deep pressure stimulation (DPS) to make the user feel more secure. 👀

    • +18

      Girlfriend replacement?

      • +5

        Honestly, yes in a way.

      • +28

No I think that product is called a fleshlight not sure if woolies has those

      • -5

If a weighted blanket replaces a gf. I think you ought to play to a different team.

        • Savage.

        • +2

          I'm pickin up 👆 what you're Putin down 👇 👁️

      • Cheaper and certainly easier to replace.

      • No that would be my waifu pillow. She's the only one I need, apart from mother of course.

  • Not available in Darwin or Palmerston, NT :(.

    • +12

Why do you want these in the NT anyway? They'd become Tontine Sweat Dreams.

      • +3

They're great for children with additional needs even at night with the aircon on.

    • They'll be visible from next Wednesday. They do that everytime valuable things goes on special…

  • +8

I love how the bottom it says approximate weight 6.8 kilos. Riped off 200gms

    • +5

Spewing, writing a letter to the ACCC as we speak.

  • +1

7kg.. I guess it wouldn't be safe to wash in washing machine for spinning 🤔

    • +4

🎵I'm spinning around, move out of my wayyyyy

    • +2

"Easy-to-remove, zipped cover." I think you wash the cover only.
The inside, I guess hang it on the line during 50deg days.

      • That makes sense! Thank you 🤭🤭

      Youtube vid coming up?

Not available anywhere around Perth Southern suburbs

  • +7

    Blanket weight = 7kg
"This weighted blanket should ideally represent 10-15% of your body weight" - I'll take two!

  • +3

This does appear to be sweet

But if you would like a bigger size 150x200 7kg, kmart has this one (that I can recommend)

    https://www.kmart.com.au/product/adult-weighted-blanket---gr…

    • +1

Recommend this over the woolies one

      • +1

What makes you say that? I assumed the woolies one would be better given the Tontine brand name and a higher rrp.

        • A higher price doesn't make a product better. The brand name depends on how much trust you have in the brand.

    • +1

If I'm reading this right the Kmart blanket uses salt instead of glass beads.

      • +1

It feels like sand, it uses tiny silacate beads.

      • No wonder I wake up feeling salty every day

        • +1

          Nah, that’s from something else.

  • None all Woolworths Sydney None inner west sydney

  • Can't believe the hand made blankets of death back in the old country is now not only encouraged but actually being used.

Any ethnics buying this? I know you have horror stories of being crushed beneath one of these when your were a little jumping bean.

  • +2

Wonder if the science behind this is like Swaddling for babies?

Deep down we want to be swaddled again.

What (doona?) cover would you guys use for this?

This does not conform to any of the single, double sizing that I can match.

    • It has a removable, washable cover so maybe none, unless you want it to match/look stylish I guess.

  • How does it compare to the spotlight koo ones?

  • +1

This also seems like a good buy if your interested slightly more expensive although bigger size over all haven't used either products but leaning to this can any one chime in?
    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/ovela-bamboo-weighted-blanket-7…

  • Temporarily unavailable?

  • +1

Just picked one up, I compared it to the weighted blanket in Kmart and personally prefer the fabric of this a lot more over the cheap fluffy texture of Kmart's. Considering it's cheaper and the same overall weight, I'd only get the Kmart one if you wanted it slightly larger.

Seems really nice, should be nice and warm during the winter.

  • +4

    tried it last night.

maybe its a placebo, but i feel like i had a very solid and deep sleep in the first time in a long time.
the weight and pressure is firm and constant across the whole body, without being suffocating. it certainly is a different feeling from a light blanket that goes everywhere.

i do feel like Barney Stinton when he's forced to sleep straight in his Tuxedo pajamas, but i woke up feeling well rested and content.

Definitely for $30 well worth it.
the only downside is the 7kg is only fit for a single bed. in fact, its slightly smaller than a single bed, as it doesn't drape over the edges ( for obvious reasons)
so Definitely only fits 1 person.

but overall very happy with purchase. thanks OP, wouldn't have seen the sale otherwise

  • +1

I tried to buy one today, couldn’t find any so I asked for help… Apparently they had heaps of stock in the back but they’re being recalled because someone was burnt by these????

    • +1

Didn't realise it was an electric blanket

  • +1

This may have been covered already (so my apologies) but are we talking a blanket big enough for a single bed or a queen?

  • i missed out on this out of stock everywhere

  • +1

Be careful ordering for pick up or delivery online. It may show as in stock but not be.
I ordered for pick up and went to the store at the scheduled pick up time only to be told it wasn’t in stock.
Ordered it online for delivery and had to add some general groceries to meet min spend. Get a notification the blankets are OOS after it’s too late to cancel my order and now I’m paying $13 delivery for general groceries when I could’ve just gone to my closest Woolworths.

  • good price absolute bargain.
