Beastmaker 1000/2000 Series Hangboard $159.95 Delivered (RRP $199.95) @ K2 Base Camp

220

$40 off as part of the Warehouse sale, extra 10% ($15.99) with K2VIP coupon. Delivery free as over $49.

Pretty good deal - very rarely see this one on sale. Pretty much the default hangboard for home training with some great discussion and training plans online for this specific board.

May be some other decent deals in the sale but this one stood out to me

Edit: Looks like discount code is no longer valid on this. Still a decent price - maybe slightly less compelling.

    Thanks, bough a 1000!

      Damn that's a lot of hang boards…

How do you even safely mount these things? Can you just go straight into brick above a doorway or something?

    • +2

Yeah exactly how I did it into brick above doorway. Drilled holes, fitted some 7mm wall plugs and used the provided screws into those. Took probably 30 mins. Absolutely rock solid, holds 90kg comfortably.

      A couple suggestions here: https://www.beastmaker.co.uk/pages/mounting-your-fingerboard

      • Legend, thanks! Grabbed one and I'll give that a go.

Did mine yesterday into reinforced concrete. As above 6 or 7mm higher quality ram plugs. I bought some longer screws for the outer top holes as they will sit more shallow.

Just make sure the plugs are rated to your body weight. 6x25kg will be enough for you to pull very hard on the jugs.

A good quality hammer drill will make life easier drilling it.

I bought a door frame normal chin up bar. Cut out a plank of wood and cut holes to fit the plank onto bar. Attach hang board onto plank and onto chin up bar.
Make sure door frame is strongenough

These were always out of stock thanks

They've removed the ability to apply the 10% off coupon, may need to revise the title. What a shame, would have bought one.

  • I thought I was crazy when I saw beastmaker when scrolling.

I boguht a 1000 the moment lock down was announced and installed it yesterday.

    Big sad.

Showed this to a friend who is a major climbing gear nerd… "Yeah that's the worst hangboard on the market, everyone thinks it's the best because of the name and because everyone buys it. You want one with long edges not CNCd pockets because that forces specific shoulder widths and bad form"

    • +3

This is an honest argument, however for the 1000 specifically, it is a beginner board.
Due to the amount of these sold, there is lots and lots of specific BM1000 training programs.

From a medical science perspective, it offers enough to offer a program to build strength, tendon hypertrophy etc etc. It's not a substitute or primary training tool for shoulder/scapula strength.

Yeh I think this is more for training finger hand strength training than shoulder. I think this makes you strong. Beast like.
I forgot to mention. This should really o ly be used for experienced climbers in my opinion. Someone who has climbed regularly possibly years and fingers are conditioned.
