only $15 off with my no fee Coles Mastercard, no flybuys points, it is still better than nothing, especially I can not use egift card at Coles online.

  • Very tempted to use it, the only hesitation is if items are out-of-stock, reducing the balance below $150 - then it would be all for nought. Did not get the 2000pt offer, only $15 off. I am assuming Coles just charges whatever they can supply, instead of informing you about OOS items and allowing you to revisit your basket of buys.

Normally they substitute it with something else often more expensive.. could be hidden in the settings somewhere to turn on/off

      • OK Thank you. I will have a look.

On the checkout page, on the left-hand side, above your list of items, it asks about OOS items. There is a dropdown menu with the following options 1) no substitution 2) substitute at no extra cost 3) specific instructions

          • @vitawheat: Thanks, appreciate the detailed info.
Do they ever substitute with a lower-cost product, if substitution is selected?
E.g., if I buy a branded UHT milk, will they substitute with the cheaper home brand one, if they run out?

You won't get the points if an OOS situation results in the final charge below the spend target. Actual mileage experience from May.

      1) Ordered delivery with initial charge spend meeting spend target. Selected no substitution because I wanted my selected booze.

      2) OOS (5 of 6 bottles!) notification came with no option to cancel (double annoyance).

      3) 1 of 6 bottles delivered. $4.15 delivery fee and bagging fee. Final charge below spend target did not trigger Coles/Flybuys internal data exchange for automatic points allocation.

      4) Called up Flybuys and they wouldn't give me the points by manual adjustment. Wanted me to email proof of offer activation, ie, onus of proof on me. Expired Flybuys offers disappear without a trace in the app, but I kept screen shots preemptively because I had a hunch Coles/Flybuys would be dishonourable (and proved right).

      5) ACCC and Fair Trading complaints to stick it to Flybuys.

      • Thanks for sharing your experience. Got to think twice about offers that are just so so, in case things go wrong, requiring time and effort to chase up.

I got this email too, but honestly I don't know what I'd be able to spend $150 on at Coles in one hit.
I split my shops up across Woolies/Coles/Aldi/Asian grocers because Coles doesn't have everything I want.

I usually buy the same way. I try buying and stocking up on 'big ticket items' that have long shelf life - laundry liquid, cooking oil, toilet paper when we're not in lockdown haha

  • any chance of getting the Promo Code

    I cant find my email
