    shuckable?

    • Keen to also know. Seen some videos online of Seagates being shuckable and WD not as they are non SATA drives.

      • No one ever seen Seagate drives with USB ports on them, all external enclosures come with standard drives.

Reviews on for this one are so bad….

Exactly. The price is pretty reasonable but I'm not so keen to jump in given the performance and reliability of the drive.

      • Are these different inside? Im considering it but its also $17 above the lowest price

      • I doubt the mech inside is any different.

      • I think unless there is a "Plus" or "Pro" in the model whether a WD or Seagate then be prepared for very slow speeds, yeah???

  • Still waiting for 6TB+ 2.5" USB drives. 5TB's have been available for a good couple of years now but it seems like the manufacturers aren't putting any development in the 2.5" HDD form factor anymore.

    • Barracuda 5TB was produced in 2016 and still the largest 2.5" HDD out there so probably not happening until there's another breakthrough in magnetic recording. Or never happening if there's breakthrough in SSD manufacturing that significantly reduces prices.

Would still prefer 4TB for under $100.

  • It's SMR, slow and unreliable.

  • Now gone to $166.03 - Deal Expired
