They haven't done this for ages… amazon is no longer a threat … because they've already over taken eBay.

Giving up my eBay Plus membership was one of the best decisions of 2020.

    • +3

Now giving up your Prime membership will be the best decision of 2021.

      • +1

If it wasnt for some of the shows on Prime you are not wrong at all.

        • +4

I second that. The Expanse alone is worth it for me to sub.

      • eBAY Plus, Amazon prime, Kogan first, Catch, Costco, Netflix, Disney, Kayo, Stan, Fox………
        How many do we need…….

        • +1

          yes.

          • @xoom: The answer should be a non-negative integer, not a Boolean….

        • +1

          you missed spotify

          • @CyrusL: good pickup, i actually have spotify……..
            how could i miss that.

Renewing mine for $39 to 'save' $700 (so far) was my best decision.
'cmon, sounds like you're not trying hard enough.

      • +1

Hardly anything is eligible nowadays, plus the price jacking. Its a miracle you were able to save $700.

    • I’d keep mine if they continue give vouchers for not cancelling :P

  • Spend $499 to save $10. I dont think so.

    • You are absolutely right

$10 off on $100 spent isn't too bad, when an "eligible items" falls on your watch list :)

      Good luck shopping

Spend $499 to save $10. I dont think so.

I think you've got it backwards. You shouldn't be thinking "there's a discount so I must buy something to save money" which is what "spend $499 to save $10" implies.

You should be buying what you need, and if there's a discount code that works, you've saved some money. In this case a savvy shopper would add a $1 item to their $499 purchase to get the extra $40 discount.

    • I agree that it would be better if the discount scaled, otherwise eBay pays out the same if you're buying something for $100, or $499.

Still it's good to get any discount if you're going to buy an item anyway.

Try going $1 more to save $50 .
Seems every deal get this dumb comment !

Please mind although the "3. Condition……… up to a maximum of 5 transactions ………."

Instead of checking out multiple items in one transaction, I tried checking out multiple times for the same item

However, I was only able to apply the voucher on my FIRST checkout, then noticed voucher became "Redeemed"

I was unable to apply voucher for subsquent checkout

    Chatted with eBay support

The operator said "……some technical issue, and therefore, the limitation was applied for just one order……."

The operator said there will be a new voucher roll-out within next few days to allow multiple transaction

There was no promise "eligible items" will be the same for the new voucher

I did not give the operator a hard time, not his fault

Sourness shopping on eBay enhanced :(

  • However, I was only able to apply the voucher on my FIRST checkout, then noticed voucher became "Redeemed"

@icecream That's useful info. Thanks for sharing your experience.

  • was uhmming and arrhing about buying a lenovo usbc dock off ebay. the $10 off somewhat pays for the postage. so went with it. shame no free click and collect.

  • $999 + $20 postage (or free C&C) for a 6700xt isn't a bad price, given the current market - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/265184036603

It's not a good price either, but it's still the cheapest I can find a 6700xt for after PLE hiked their prices on XFX ones.

  • 10% off essentially …

    • +2

      Upto 10% off mathematically

  • +1

Not working / showing / available any more

    • Oh man, this code expires faster than a flash sale code, it's meant to run for 9 days. They must be using work experience kids on their school holidays in the marketing team? ;-)

      • Just got caught by it myself - hopefully they'll reset it when they sort out the single use problem above. I did find a set of terms with that code that specified "Eligible items", so that may be a bit of bad news to come.

      • I need to stop hesitating 🤦🏻‍♀️

        • Tell me about it. I should have bought everything during the AfterPay 15% promotion… ;-)

          • @Buy2Much: Yeah I watched that one too and didn't act. Atleast I didn't spend money … 🤣

I am actually regretting not moving early last month on a DJs sale (of all places) as I haven't been able to find the coffee machine I'd like to get any cheaper anywhere else!

  • I think someone forgot to Jack something so will come back after the adjustment :) .

    • Not this type of code though as the sellers do not have to fund it, so they are not compelled to shift prices to maintain their profit margins.

      • These 10%ers are as regular as supermarket 50% off sales ( maybe not as much lol ) .
For me I adjust prices to $100 and $500 to accommodate them to boost sales .
eg $97.95 is in no mans land . $100 goes to $90

  • I thought these codes usually lasted more than a few hours?? Dang it, looks like it's already gone.

    • There's been a problem with the code. I tried it last night to purchase a laptop for my son and wasn't working. Reported it on eBay and they apologised apparently with "technical issues" at their end. It's BS I know..

  • This popped up again yesterday but it's gone again today??? What's going on?
