I have the 47 inch version and its build and picture quality is amazing.

How did you get it soo cheap?

  • Great Deal. May go into the Mount Druitt one also.

  • great price and great tv, not much stock left of these though

  • Checking price match on JB Hifi Traralgon VIC, they'll call me back…

From members experience, what sort of hit rate do you expect on price matching like this?

    • Would you mind reporting back once you hear something? I'm in Traralgon also :)

  • That is a great deal, I am still waiting to get a good price for LG 55LW6500. The cheapest price offered at JB-HIFI was $2050 but I can see it available for around $1850 online. How can I get better price on LG 55LE6500.

    • -1

You can wait or you can call up JB/Bing/Harvey and say Good Guys or someone else offered it to you for $1800 and see if they can at least match it or beat it. Just make up a reasonable price so they can at worst match it.

It worked for me once where I got a TV from Bing Lee for $30 cheaper than the cheapest online price.

      • Thanks for your suggestion.

      • Nice strategy; if a little devious.

      • I did this myself with a home theatre system (speaker package, high end amp), but was a bit more ambitious knocking $200 off at a time and doing a 3 way dance. knocked more than $1000 off the cheapest ticket price, about 40% of the total

This TV i bought it couple of months back with blu-ray player with $300 cash back offer. Link for receipt http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/60119

      • Thanks…..

  • Looks like OP has revoked his own pos vote!

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/63567/votes

    Buyers remorse lol?

    • Actually by accidentally removed do you know how I can get it back

      • +5

Can't yourself, so I'll give you mine.

        • Thanks

        • nice of u. But were you going to + it anyway? If so, I'll add in my vote as well.

        • LOL!

If so, then I guess I am going to have to plus it for Steptoe :P

Luckily I have no idea if this is a good deal, so no-one has to plus for me.

      • Doh!

I assume you have tried clicking plus again, so if that doesn't work, I am not sure…

        • You can only vote once, either positive/negative. How did you revoke your vote accidentally?

  • What's the additional item purchased? Warranty extension? Did that purchase influence the price you got?

    • I purchased magic motion remote control but no
      Price not influenced for that

      • +5

OK, so give us a blow by blow rundown of the hagglefest you must of had, or you got blackmail photos?

      • Huh sweet, might be easier to match if you get the remote too then. I've played with it on some demo TVs and it actually works pretty nicely, more than well enough for controlling a TV :D

  • +1

Epic price for this TV. I've heard in reviews that the contrast/black levels are relatively mediocre, though when inspecting one in a showroom I didn't really notice anything bad. Best to go and have a look yourself if you're the picky type but it still seems great to me :)

    too small =)

    • +13

      That's what she said.

  • I got two LG 50PZ650's plasmas for $700 each from bing lee a couple of weeks ago. They use the older 3d glasses but if you don't mind that I think its a pretty good deal. Me and a friend had to buy two to get them at that price though. Plex is awesome with it.

Very good price for this model though. The cheapest I have seen is Jogga's on whirlpool got this for $850.

  • Anyone successful in price matching? I might try tomorrow.

  • vpdeals you bought this tv at jb hifi Mount Druitt about 2 weeks ago the price online is $966, how did you get it down to $621 was it a sale. Can I just print out the receipt here and show it at a JB hifi or other store to price match.

    • That wasn't any sale at that time
Just go in mt druitt store and asked for salerep "Ty" he gave me this price

  • +1

This looks like an "I'll do the both for $700" kind of thing. If anyone price matches the on the TV by itself, I'll be interested to hear!

    • $700 still seems like a decent price (mwave is selling tv alone for 800)

      • Definitely. Only once been $696 before as far as I know, and that wasn't with the remote.

    • -8

      you can get a 55" LED TV for $699 - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/63579

      • I don't know if it's me or there something that's really different about these 2 LED TV's.

      • +1

we get it , the Kogan for $699…..you dont have to bang on about it

  • Great TV for the price, I have one and am very happy with it.
I paid 800 for it in November last year.

  • Great price. I paid $800 last week for the same one.

  • +1

Just spoke to JB's Malaga WA and was told they didn't have it in stock and couldn't match that price even if they did have one available.

  • Does it have a swivel stand?

    • That's what she said.

  • -2

Great price, but has anyone else actually got the TV at $621 (minus the remote also)
Id tried Bing Lee this afternoon but they wont do it.

Ill try a few JB tomorrow…

    • just wondering if price is nice then why you posted teh negative feedback?

  • Bought this very tv back in June for $800 so this is a pretty decent deal.

  • Going by the online shop on the web page it looks like the only store that still has stock is Hobart.

  • Has anyone that's tried the DNLA features care to comment?

    • I don't know if this is the same 42" LG 3D LED TV that I setup for a friend last year.

If so then its a great feature. Never had any trouble setting it up, especially if you use "PS3 Media Server" on your PC.

("PS3 Media Server"?! Yes, its for the PS3 but it works with other devices as well).

  • Anyone else managed to score this deal or is this another ONE of ????

  • +1

Just emailed JB Hi fi and this is the response

Unfortunately no we cannot price match as the deal you got was 1 of. By the reading of the posts including yours it seems you got an ex-display model and no remote control supplied….thanks.

    • I h ave to agree, I have called 2-3 JB & a BingLee and no-one can price match it.
Sorry but this aint a deal or bargain.

    • +1

just for your imformation that this wasn't exdisplayed TV it was brand new sealed pack , never opened
this TV got standard remote control included. the extra remote i purchased was magic motion remote control which is not included in this model. and that's why in specification mention that magic motion remote ready that means not included in package but if you have then this TV will support

      • +1

I totally agree that you got yourself an awesome deal..I just cant see anybody (my self included) here able to get the same deal.

    • In my opinion: Tony Baric regional manager of jbhifi sounds clueless about the products he is selling. The remote on the invoice is a suplementary remote for the internet related functions of the tv. The LG tv still has the standard remote in the box. Tony Baric please research the "Peter Principle", they may be talking about you. [email protected]

went to merrylands JB with no luck, the guy said if i had a real receipt he woulda price matched it but not a photocopy:(

    • +1

      try in mt druitt

    • +1

Thank you striker5950. JB I have to ask: "What difference does it make whether the receipt is an original or a photocopy?" What a weak excuse for no price match. JB you have done it again!

  • www.bigbrownbox.com.au have this TV for $619 with Free shipping to select areas (use postage checker on website to confirm)

    • true… its strange n awesome…

    • looks like this is the normal price now.

  • Wont be a problem price matching now.

Actually will be, sold out online, Jb HiFi wouldn't go near the price anyway.

  • +1

Nobody should be surprised that JBHIFI is uncompetitive. To quote: kluger on 18/05/2011 - 09:17
"Just bought 24 season 1-8 dvd box set for $66 from amazon uk with free delivery that
jb is selling for $272. JB always overpriced."

    • There is a difference comparing two Australian retailers (yes one online and one storefront and online) with overseas, that's an argument on a bigger level.

Jb HiFi are usually there or thereabouts with a pricematch of another Australian retailer or generally the cheapest, but in this case they seem to think the price is ridiculous. It's odd. I called around and couldn't get within $300 delivered of this price. Stock was very low, thought they would want to get rid of the last sets.

  • bigbrownbox.com.au has been ozbargained. no more stock.

  • Thanks vpdeals, just got jb in the Newcastle area to price match for $621!

    • Awesome Midnight. Was it a ex-display model or sealed? Also if you could post your receipt with your personal details blacked out it might help someone else get the same deal. Thanks

    • When I rang JB they said they would only accept an actual receipt and not a photo of one, how did you manage to get around that?

      • +1

It's a new sealed model. I first rang up and asked if they had any in stock. Then I asked if they would price match. I mentioned my 'friend' got one from JB in Mt Druitt for $621. The first store said the lowest they can do it for is $700. The next store I rang up looked up the sale on their computer and was umming and arring and eventually gave in. He put it aside for me and I picked it up the next day!
I'm at work but I'll post a copy of my receipt tonight.

  • Just called JB Greensborough (VIC - 20/2), they were happy to price match but only had an ex-display unit when they checked stock. Heidelberg had one ex-display and one brand new but didn't want to price match. Kinda strange that they don't all carry the same policy.
