  • How about tesla battery?

    • +1

      Have you done the sums?💰

    • Hi Siddh,

We don't offer Tesla batteries currently, as the other comments mentioned its not a financially feasible payback.

      Regards,

      Matt

      • how much extra does it cost?

        • +1

Nothing, because they don't offer it…

        • I’ve read elsewhere that others have been charged around $15000 installed.

          • @Steptoe: Doubt you could get them for that these days, the price has been increased three times in the past 12 months.

            • @mickeyjuiceman: Spoke with a bloke who paid $10k on AGL VPP in the last few weeks

              • @Steptoe: Sure, VPPs are a different thing altogether. (And might be in trouble after last week's AEMO report? We'll see, I guess)

        • Hey Siddh,

As mentioned we don't offer the Tesla's however in the market they can range from $13k to $16k roughly depending on the property.

          Cheers,

          Matt

  • Has anyone use this installer and panels before?

    • Keen to know as well.

    • i have used this installer and i am very happy with them. no complaints whatsoever

  • -4

    370w is too old.
    Should use 450w

    • I wouldn't say 370w panels is old.
It's still a big upgrade on the 1.5kw systems for the same surface area when it first started out.

    • 370W panels are what most people are using. Amazingly clueless "advice."

    • 450W panels are bigger, not necessarily more efficient. Geometry may mean the 370W are better if you can fit a double row. Less panels should mean a cheaper install though.

      • Except that the 450s are huge buggers, and I've seen a few places saying they need to bring a lift in to get them up to the roof…

new customers electricity bill ($400 Cap) over the lock down period

Who uses $400 of electricity within 5 days?

    • Hydroponic crops?

    • When will the lockdown end…that is the question.

    • bitcoin harvesters!?

    • +2

      Hi,

The bill rebate is for a maximum of $400 over the lockdown period (currently at 2 weeks).

From experience last year in Melbourne where we offered the same deal people were using lots of power while bring at home, especially in the winter.

Secondly no one knows when the lockdown will end so we will honour the bill rebate for as long as the lockdown lasts. Again like in Melbourne last year started small and ended up for a full 8 week period and we provided a bill rebate for the 8 week period.

The idea is to help people who are going through lockdown, not worry about electricity bills and at the same time get a great price on a solar system to help future savings.

      Cheers,

      Matt

Wish there was a deal on a 10k+ battery/solar system in NSW. Feel once its under $7k I'd take the plunge.

    • +1

Same here, I'm just waiting for battery tech to catch up at an affordable price

      • +1

That's a LONG way away, unfortunately.

        • +1

Yea it's a bit of a shame, lucky I've got time to spare.

          • @CoreNex: things is as the tech gets better it's getting rolled out to solar farms too and prices will come down for power

      • LFP batteries should be the choice for home storage. Have a look at the AlphaESS Smile 5

    • Batteries (among many other greener energy options) need government backing and support to bring costs down and build the market. Unfortunately both sides have their head in the sand and are delivering nothing but talk and studies

      • VIC has done a rebate for batteries, right?
Or am I thinking something else perhaps.

        • I think so, but they also introduced an electronic vehicle tax which is very counterintuitive to energy transition.
I'll stop derailing the OP thread here though 😃

        • Yes, Victoria has a rebate ($3400, now? Just went down). Helps, but still doesn't make a battery worthwhile for most people.

      • +1

Technology will deliver an economic solution. Government money is better spent elsewhere.

        • +1

Exactly. Why should tax payers prop up industries that cant stand on their own.

  • +1

OP, I am genuinely interested, but just been on the edge for soooo long because of the horror stories and intricacies involved particularly with poor workmanship (even from qualified people apparently) and businesses disappearing after warranty claims. What will you say / prove against this to put my mind to rest so I take the offer?

    • I'm exactly the same

      • solarquotes.com.au seems to be getting a commission from the installers. not sure if the reviews will be all genuine, not saying they arent but just not sure as it isnt indepenent.

        • Yes not overlooking Solar Quotes is a paid referral system

    • +1

looks like OP has posted the deal and then disappeared

      • Yeah, they don't understand this place at all, that's pretty clear.

    • Hey Mate,

Thanks for a great questions :)

There are definitely lots of horror stories out there, like with any other home improvement product you look at a number of things such as budget, product quality, workmanship warranties etc.

We try out best to be very transparent with our customers and display most of our work online via our social media. We encourage customers to get on our Facebook and Instagram to see our work. We have done 100's of solar installs in Vic and NSW and so have had all positive feedback, please feel free to check our reviews. (Links in the Original post above).

At the end of the day things can go wrong no matter who you choose as your installer, what matters is, will they be back to fix the issues and work with the customer. That's something that no matter what I or anyone writes here you need to make an informed decision on based on a number of factors. We offer a workmanship warranty and have had install issues (like any other installer) and have always gone back to the customer and worked with them to resolve the problem.

Product warranties are also help by the manufacturer so worst case scenario the customer is always able to go directly to the manufacturer for product faults. We are also an Approved Solar Retailer with the Clean Energy Council which holds us accountable to a much higher standard that the industry. To some the approved status might not mean much but we are proud of it and honor the code of conduct in all our work.

I totally understand your concerns and can genuinely say we have helped 100's of homes take the solar journey and so far haven't had a single workmanship issue that was not resolved efficiently and effectively.

Always happy to jump on a phone call and have a chat feel free to give us a buzz or an email to discuss further.

      Cheers,

      Matt

  • I have 5kw installed 10 years ago, recent experience higher electricity bill, should I upgrade?

    • +2

This isn’t much of an upgrade if you already have 5kW. What’s it’s daily production? Has your usage pattern changed, or just Rates changed?

    • Hi Inq,

Depends on a few factors such as if you have single phase or 3 phase power, current bills and how well the 5kW system is performing after 10 years.

I will send you a PM to discuss further.

      Cheers,

      Matt

We have a wide range of products Jinko, Q Cells and LG Panels. Sungrow, Huawei and Fronius Inverters, get in touch for specific products.

Could anyone smarter and more experienced than me on these products recommend what should be used? And perhaps why?

    • Maybe consider an 8kW Sungrow if you have room for more panels

  • Matt, what sort of price range / % differences are we looking at for choosing a different brand from your alternatives list?

i.e. Jinko, Q Cells and LG Panels. Sungrow, Huawei and Fronius Inverters

    • Hey Mate,

Depends on the particular brand and model, For the standard range Jinko and Longi its a couple of Hundred more, Q Cell and LG are a few grand more. Inverter wise similar Sungrow is a couple hundred more and Huawei and Fronius close to an extra thousand.

We are more than happy to provide specific quotes based on what the customer prefers. Each brand has its pros and cons really comes down to peoples budget and brand choice.

      Cheers,
