  • Good deal - i noticed they use fastway as a courier which has terrible reviews.

anyone have had any experience with poor delivery times from BPC ?

    • Honestly Aramex (Fastways) really depends on the area. I have them ship to my business addresses and both drivers are excellent and really care. I guess the same can't be said about other areas.

  • anyone know if they provide the boxes for the parts? or is it all OEM

  • Anyone else notice the case has USB-C and it appears the motherboards used may not have the header?

BPC's reply was that the motherboard has 4 USB 3.2 ports that doesn't answer the question.

  • how long is the build time?

    • they said 1-2 weeks over phone

  • +2

Finally caved in a bought a PC.
RTX 3080 at 1100 -> no, RTX 3080 at 1300 no dont want it.. at 1500 no, at 2k-> yes give me ;)

  • This has now sold out!

  • +1

Replaced with a v5. Same price but now LHR card…

  • Anyone had their systems shipped yet?

    • nope…

      • when did you order?

        • 12/07 - was told end of this week it will be shipped unfortunately still under "processing" - no doubt lockdown would have delayed some days which is acceptable but getting a little worried as it has now been 12 days and not shipped yet. you?

          • +1

@stryker117: 14/07, they told me the same that they build would be be complete by friday/Saturday, so called Friday evening and they said still in queue and will probably take one or two weeks more. LOL, so much for the ready to ship.. i wonder if they are just mining eth with our graphics as part of their "Testing". Wonder if I should call them to ask if they can ship graphic card sealed.

            • @truebunny: Probably don't have stock of the video card yet.

              • @Clear: I asked and they said yes they have all the parts…

                • @truebunny: Oh that's annoying. Mine hasn't shipped yet either unfortunately and currently waiting to hear back from an email.

        • I ordered on 7/7 and still waiting.

          • @sonome: *Update to my above post - just recieved the email that my order has now completed and is being shipped today (ordered 7/7).

        • well it is a little concerning that someone that ordered 7/7 hasn't shipped either.

the v5 version is no longer in stock and must call for ETA. https://www.bpctech.com.au/kp-ga-machogaming-krakenpower-mac…

At this stage, probably mid august if we are lucky…

          • @stryker117: any updates? And this point might as well have ordered from techslow and still gotten it by now… they posted a deal tomorrow too, will end up in similar price range as this deal maybe a little cheaper.

            • @truebunny: no will email them today and update.

              • @stryker117: they don't reply to my emails. I called them and asked to speak with customer service not sales and said it has been over 2 weeks now. They said will be finished soo and shipped. so call them

                • @truebunny: They replied me pretty quickly everytime via email - said the lockdown impacted their manpower and previous ETA is gone. now looking to ship early next week. I asked politely and they returned politely as well. unsure why different treatment.

                  • @stryker117: hmm not sire why they didn't reply to my emails at all. I was polite too. just asked about the eta. anyways got the shipping notification today.

                    • @truebunny: congrats, mines ordered 12/7 and still didn't get shipping confirmation. was it from TNT?

i did ask for windows preinstalled so unsure if that takes longer.

                      • @stryker117: thanks mate, yes shipping via TNT. Hope you get yours soon. Game on!

  • I too got shipping notifications. Seems they couldn't do requested upgrades that i offered to pay extra $$$ for. Oh well a 5600x + 3080 system is still good.

Likely have to change the front AIO from being exhaust to AIO. Hopefully anyone that's received theirs can confirm.

    • +1

I got my V3 last week.

That's right, I had to change the AIO which was exhausting out the front to intaking. Reduced temperatures quite a bit.

Hopefully you get yours soon! Good rig

      • Was that just a case of taking off the fans and flipping them over?

        • For me, I flipped both the AIO and fans. Fans so they could start intaking and AIO so pipes were at the bottom. Its not using any OEM parts so its pretty easy to take the fans out of their splitter cable and play with them as necessary.

          • @sicarius: So basically yours is at 1:46 in this video with the fans at intake? A lot easier to understand than watching GamerNexus bang on for 20 minutes.

    • when did you order yours?

      • 7th late at night.

    • May I ask where the notification are sent from? is it BPC or fastway (the couriers)

      • +1

Received several emails from BPC to notify the order was processed, completed and marked for dispatch. The courier in my case is TNT and I've been receiving emails from them too.

        • thanks! mine shipped late last night :)

  • To add to the data above, I ordered on 17/7 (think I got the last one as the site said sold out when I refreshed the product page), and spoke to them early last week. They said it would probably be finished by the end of last week. Just rang them again and he said it's still in the queue, and they'll send out an email once it's finished and posted.

My system has been delivered, and I had a chance to play with it today.

The build seems solid, very well packed with foam supports around the components. I ordered an additional hard drive and nearly missed the packing foam around this; it was blocked by the cables and difficult to remove.

The motherboard I got is the MSI B550M Pro. The ram is recognised as 2133mhz; I haven't gone into the BIOS to try to change to 3200

I also ordered the wifi upgrade, which came in the form of a TP-Link AC1200 pcie card (I would've preferred the wifi version of the mb, which someone else mentioned getting). No Bluetooth, which I hadn't thought about until I tried to connect my wireless headphones.

There are 4 fans in the case; three in front and 1 in back. Only one front fan was working initially, and I realised the other two hadn't been plugged in (not sure if they were missed, deliberately left unplugged or came loose during transit).

The big puzzler for me is the fan placement/airflow. As others have mentioned, the three fans in front are set to exhaust through the radiator, while the rear fan is also set to exhaust. Very odd. I'm planning to turn the front fans around so they intake air through the radiator; I was originally worried about dust getting pulled into the radiator but have discovered the front of the case pops off and there's a removable dust filter underneath. Keen to hear if anyone has different plans/ideas for airflow.

One pleasant surprise was that it came with Windows 10 pre-installed (unactivated).

    • +1

I'm guessing the fans orientation was stock from the factory and were designed to be used as a top exhaust.

I think they preinstall windows 10 to perform stress tests but never activate them unless you pay for a key.

      • +1

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. I'd love to move the radiator to the top of the case, but unfortunately the top can only fit 280mm.

    • Wait where is the empty PCIe slot to plug in a wifi card?

      • +1

nvm it is the small black port near the graphic cad, i had a Asus PCE-AC68 lying around and was able to fit it there after removing the heat sink on that wifi card

  • Mine arrived and the front AIO is definitely set to exhaust and the pipes are up top instead of below. I think their techs could do with a lesson on AIO installation.

At least the 2 black fans included with the case have been mounted at the rear and top for exhaust. Now I just need to muck around fixing the AIO :(

    • Interesting - so you got 2 case fans + the 3 radiator fans? I only received 1+3.

I'm interested to hear if you manage to get the AIO installed pipes down… I haven't tried, but it looked like the tubes would be too short and there wouldn't be enough room.

      • They definitely forgot your fan. Looks like it's near impossible to get those pipes correct. For the moment I'm putting my 2 case fans as intake and will leave the AIO as exhaust.

BPC are quite shoddy I think.

        • mine arrived today! I got 1 + 3 AIO fans all blowing out as well. don't think they forgot the fan, since in the listing they only said one fan.

@sicarius how did you manage to get the AIO pipes to the bottom. aren't they too short?

Also how to reverse the fans? Any guide on that?

Also one of the cable from top USB connections is not plugged in. Any idea what is that?

          • @truebunny: Yep that's the USB-C port. I quizzed the rep about it last month…

            Clear on Fri, 09/07/2021 - 17:14
So will the USB C port on the top of the case work?

            budgetpc on Sun, 11/07/2021 - 15:48
            Hi Clear,

            Yes it will work :)

            Regards
            BPC Team

            • @Clear: @clear Thanks, but where do i plug it in? it is not working for me coz unplugged

              • @truebunny: Unfortunately both the MSI and ASUS motherboards don't support it. Adapters exist but they'll occupy the USB 3.0 header and PCIe cards also exist, but being an mATX motherboard means you'll partially block the CPU fan. A real let down of this build.

                You could PM the rep.

          • @truebunny: Reversing the fans is relatively straightforward. Unplug them from the power cable, then pull the AIO radiator out of the case for easy access (if you pop the front centre panel of the case off, you can access the radiator screws to undo it).

Once out, unscrew the fans from the radiator and flip them over (I kept the cables oriented so they would face the non-glass side of the case).

Then reverse the process to put it all back in. 🙂

            • @sonome: @sonome Thanks! Great, will try that. Can i also add one or two fans at the top, for increase airflow? If so, where can i buy those compatible ones - hopefully i can follow along the existing fan cable and insert where that is going.

            • @sonome: Curious what idle temps you're getting with your configuration. My 2 rear intake and front exhaust are giving me 27 degree idle temps. That's with my pump speed reduced by 10% too.

              • @Clear: Both my CPU & GPU are idling at around 32 degrees. I'm thinking I might pop a 2nd exhaust fan on the case.

The only concern I'd have with your config is that with the back to front airflow there's nothing to protect against dust (the dust protector is in the front of the case).

                • @sonome: Yeah the single fan on the rear has no dust filter but the 2 fan mounts at the top do. So the idea is adding 2 arctic fans to the top and maybe 1 on the rear.

                  • @Clear: I am thinking of adding 2 more fans for exhaust once I turn the AIO ones to intake. Where can I buy some compatible fans and which ones would you recommend that are quiet - cheaper the better. Thanks

                    • @truebunny: Fan installation is pretty straight forward as there are fan headers that take 3 or 4 pin fans. Personally I'm holding out for an Arctic P12 deal again as they provide excellent airflow and performance for the price. They also don't cost an arm and leg like Noctua does. Be Quiet! and EK Fans are good too though more expensive than Arctic. Are you after RGB?

Otherwise if you wanted something more quickly I recommend looking for something that is "PWM" or pulse width modulation. This means that the fan can be controlled via the motherboard (or fan controller if you have one). The fans can slow down or stop spinning when not needed and ramp up when your CPU needs cooling.

You'll also see fans that say PWM PST. What this means is that you can daisy chain multiple fans together and still have the benefits of PWM as stated above. This is useful if you're wanting to run more fans than you do headers.

                      • @Clear: Great! thanks for all the info!

                      • @Clear: Bought 2 P12 PWM PST for around 16 each from Amazon since I mine and temperatures were getting high.

  • Just got mine today.

First thing I noticed is the front 3 aio fans (set to exhaust) give off a load hum even at lowest settings. I would of thought it was a bad fan if it was just one fan.

Other than that quite happy with the build.

But the aio fan hum is hard to ignore.

    • +1

Not an issue with headphones. If you download the EVGA flow app you can reduce the pump speed and adjust the fan curve to reduce the sound a little.

Otherwise wait for some arctic fans to go on sale and replace them. Unfortunately this cooler has some of the loudest fans on the market.

  • I tried the app with the lowest setting didn't really do much. 900-1000 rpm according to the app. Is there a way to get them lower or even stop?

I flipped the fans and that seemed to lower the noise slightly.

I guess I'll put up with it till the sale.

  • I had a quick question about the the fan connection. The existing exhaust fan at back of the case is connected at Sys_Fan1 pin. do I take that out and daisy chain it with the two new artic fans? tried doing that but the existing exhaust fan has 3 pins and the daisy chain connector also has 3 pins but 1,2 and 4th. so only two pins from old fan are able to connect. is that ok? or should I look for another fan connector on the mobo?
