[Pre Order] NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti EVGA FTW3 Ultra $1379 + Delivery ($0 WA/ VIC C&C) @ PLE

1630

First post go easy pls.

Probably the best price for a 3070 Ti with an ETA (End of July). FTW3 Ultra is also one of the better after market coolers so great buy if you are stilling waiting on a graphics card.

Edit: The card is now out of stock for end of July ETA but you can still join the queue for the batch after that.

        • +3

          is that short for poonani?

          • +10

@Winston100s: I'm not short of poonani, no.

its almost there will they make it too $1k before the 40 series comes out.

    • +81

RRP for RTX 3070 is AU$800
RRP for RTX 3070 Ti is AU$959

Still not there yet. Does anyone remember when everything was sold way below the RRP?

      • +2

The only cards over RRP were the super imba ones…. those were the days.

        • nah, they're just Gosu

      • +25

I remember when everyone was pissed that 3080 prices at launch were around $1200+ excluding a few cards.
If only we knew what the future had in store for us.

        • +1

Was kicking myself pissed off that i'd bought a 2070 super a week before the 3000 series was announced.

If only I knew how bad things were really going to get.

      • +1

This particular evga model AU RRP is $1029. Still over rrp, but not as crazy anymore.

        • +2

Im still in the evga waiting queue for the FTW non ti model thats $1030.

https://au.evga.com/products/productlist.aspx?type=0&family=… the TI is at $1280.

So this ple deal is a good price. Just depends how bad you want a gpu right now.

          • +1

@minatosensei: woops, was looking at the non Ti, yup its $1279 so this is quite a good deal. A lot of people on here are thinking they'll be able to get 3080's for $1300 in the future, which just isn't gonna happen.

            • @JW3B: The prices have been dropping even on the non ti variation. From memory 2-3 months ago it was $1200-$1300.
Lets see in a months time if it hits $900

            • @JW3B:

A lot of people on here are thinking they'll be able to get 3080's for $1300 in the future, which just isn't gonna happen.

You reckon? The new cards are LHR mining limited cards so people can't mass buy them for mining anymore, once the people wanting them for gaming get their hands on the new batches then it will recover the price. Last November they were sub-$1300. Card prices are dropping very quickly right now.

      • +3

I remember the best card in the market used to be <$600 max just 10-15 years ago.

        • +1

those days are long gone lol

        • +3

Not even that long ago I got my gtx 1080 that I still have for 730 and that was the top of the stack at the time,

It's basically just the rtx cards that introduced that massive price jump with the rtx 2080ti etc.

          • @nimbat1003: Yeah, I remember thinking "$700? My whole PC is that much! Why spend so much on just one component?" And now that price range is considered mid-range…

            • +2

@LordM00: Now for $3000 you can buy:
              * high end GPU
              * high end phone
              * small 2nd hand car

meanwhile engineers and graphic designers on Oz saying "will this $900 laptop be good for me?"

          • @nimbat1003: I got a gtx 1080 for $750 in 2017 so pretty much it was the flagship. It would be like buying a 3080 now for $750 lol

        • Back in my day you could buy a whole computer for just a nickle!

    • +4

I was just thinking myself, the 3080 version of this launched at that price through PLE.
We can only hope they keep going down in a spectacular way so ordinary gamers can afford them.

      • +8

RTX3080 FTW3 Ultra was $1269 @ PLE on launch. And FTW3 ultra is a top-end card. No 3080 (let alone cards inferior to it) should ever be above that price unless water-cooled.

        • -7

cooling on ftw3 is pretty bad for gaming, it's only good for mining

          • @ln28909: What's so different? Both stress the GPU

            • +3

@Sparky: mining is focused on vram, which ftw3 is very good at cooling

gaming is focused on core clock, which ftw3 is below average

              • +3

@ln28909: The tiny drop in core clock (if any) will have pretty much no noticeable change in game. In a case that doesn't have bad cooling temps are no issue. But some people like looks / reduced noise trade off.

                • +1

@Rajserp: the difference is over 10c when you compared it with good gaming cards like gaming x trio at around same noise level, dare say that is significant

there are others annoying quirks with evga, like how their factory fan settings is very modest, or needing to install evga precision x1 to control the speed of the 3rd fan

                  • +3

@ln28909: If the core is not over temp, the change in core clock will not be significant. If you have trouble, you can always setup an undervolt in your software of choice.

It was not worth paying the extra for a Gaming X Trio ($1449) vs the FTW3 Ultra ($1269) when they were originally released in Australia. The claimed 10c drop in temps would be at most a performance within 5% core clock. Even me buying the FTW3 Ultra over the XC3 ($1099) was a bit silly…. However the FTW3 Ultra had way less time from order to delivery than the XC3, at PLE anyway.

          • +3

@ln28909: You are completely wrong. My ftw3 reaches only 61C during gaming triple AAA titles. I struggle to believe any non-watercooled AIB card beats that in terms of cooling

            • @bumluffa: I speak from experience

              • +1

@ln28909: Then you might have a faulty card because I just gave you my own personal experience

                • +1

@bumluffa: lol, if you have a few cards for comparison, you'll see ftw3 is below average

everyone hypes up evga too much

                  • +1

@ln28909: It doesn't really matter if you have a few cards for comparison or not. I gave you empirical data. My card hovers around 61c playing triple A titles. Unless you mean there are other non-watercooled AIB cards which can beat this type of performance, what you are saying is moot. And if you are unable to refute my assertions, then I would say you're the one who actually has an unnatural dislike of EVGA

                    • -4

@bumluffa: gaming x trio can run 3dmark timespy with an average 55C, and 3dmark timespy is more intensive than most AAA titles out there

                      • +1

@ln28909: Okay I'll just disregard you blatantly moving the goal posts on this one and say yeah mine can too, what of it?

                        • +1

@bumluffa: You asked if any non watercool card can beat that temp, I provided an example

            • +2

@bumluffa: Gaming workloads will result in lower temps than with the benchmark workloads @In28909 refers to.

IMO in gaming you are going to be fine with any 3080 unless you are chasing those last few fps.

              • +1

@Rajserp: Incorrect. He specifically referred to it being "bad for gaming"

              • +1

                @Rajserp: That's why I tend to run G-sync and 75FPS.
Why punish your GPU everywhere, when you can lock in a stable framerate in most areas, and then let it (and G-sync) handle the harder bits.

I always wonder why people run uncapped framerates, then complain about heat though. lol.

            • +1

@bumluffa: My ftw3 goes up to 61C as well. I can't recall it going higher and I overclock mine to get a consistent 144fps @ 1440p in my shooter games and even 165fps @ 1440p in older shooter games.

My monitor is a variable refresh 165Hz Dell so 144fps is my happy middle.

              • @mattswart: Yes. I think it's pretty consistent. I'm not sure what @ln28909 is on about with his ftw3. He must either have an unnatural hatred of EVGA or a faulty card who knows

          • +1

@ln28909: This is untrue, I have the card and the cooling is pretty good for both.

    • It will eventually happen, but it's going to be a long painful wait.

  • +1

I usually love the EVGA designs, but I am not sure about the rainbow feature smacked on this one.

    • +5

You can change the colour to anything you desire via their software.

      • +13

        matte black.

      • +4

This. Personally I just change it to follow gpu temp so that way I know when the gpu is actually stressed or not with the game I'm playing

        • That's cool. Is that in the native software?

        • I change mine based on my overclocking profile. At a glance I see if I am on the extreme profile or the moderate profile without having to go into the software but temps might be even better as an indicator.

        • I assume that means you have a clear case? If you're on windows 10 just have a look at Windows Game Bars performance tab. I've just got that pinned down the bottom and transparent, just says "CPU 1% GPU 7% VRAM 20% RAM 50%" etc.

    • even the wave-y fan shroud shape is kinda an eye sore

    • It's just meant to depict RGB, can be tuned as you please or turned off completely.

    • You can change it or turn it off completely.

  • +7

No thanks. Let me know when you have the 3080 for this price or below.

  • Are all 3070 ti the LHR models?

    • Yeah pretty sure they all are along with the 3080 Ti.

      • +17

        resale matters to gamers

        • +6

Even as a gamer, casual mining when you're not gaming can help fund/offset the card, in addition to resale value.

It can help justify paying so much over RRP for these graphics card sometimes.

          • @lawyerz: Exactly. My 3080 has made approx. AUD$600 worth of BTC in the past few months.

            • +2

@Rajserp: I can support this if it still games as well :D

            • +1

@Rajserp: By few months, I mean since 22 April 21
              0.01520696BTC

AUD$825 if sold from BTC to AUD each day. I did not.. :,(

            • @Rajserp: Who is paying the power bill?

              • +2

@noise36: Solar offset during the day. I have a meter set up to track usage on two tariffs as the mining cuts into the feed in tariff (7.5c/kWh) during the day

                Day 0730-1630: 7.5c/kWh
                Night 1630-0730: 27c/kWh

Total monthly spend on power: $25-$30 month

At current value, that's 85-90% profit

                • @Rajserp: That's pretty solid…. No wonder they are all selling out.

If you have solar, mining, the way to go

                  • @itshammer: If you have solar you're actually probably better off not mining. I get the 40c/kWh on my solar so I'd be losing money mining during the day on my 3070.

                    • +2

@MrFunSocks: Most will be getting 5-10c I believe

Are you on an old feed in tariff

  • +4

probs best to wait but yeah if you NEED one now jump on the PLE queue!

  • -2

    Lol

  • How do i find pre orders for 3060 ti is there a special page?

  • MSI GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Ventus@pccg with Klarna deal will be $1323 delivered and they are in stock.

    • Don't get the ventus. It runs pretty hot.

      Evga is better

      • +1

        https://www.pccasegear.com/products/54406/msi-geforce-rtx-30…

superior cooling, about the same price with Klarna, and you can have it in a few days

        • superior to the ventus definitely, but I wouldn't' say its superior to ftw3 ultra.. mate has msi gaming x trio and i have the ftw3 ultra…

ftw3 ultra cooling > msi gaming x trio cooling.. by quite a sizable margin

Big plus to being in stock though.

          • @lawyerz: ftw3 has probably the worse cooling for gpu core out of all the gpus I have and I have a lot of gpus

  • +3

    Where are the 1660's :C

  • Is the lights compatible with MSI Mystic software?

  • relatively good price but surely they'll keep dropping from here on out

    • +1

They now stop pre orders if it reaches a certain number to avoid RTX3080 situations where people are still waiting 2 days after launch. At most it should be 2-3ish months unless their IT system craps the bed. This happened with the 3070 Ti launch and I managed to snag a XC3 Ultra 3070 Ti and got my ETA today. For the XC3, they allocated a pre order size 4x launch stock before locking pre orders.

  • Still waiting…

  • +3

You can get a 3070 Ti sub $1350 on PCCG at the moment with the Klarna deal.

    • +2

Just noticed that Klarna thing, solid offer- unfortunately still not great value for GPUs, would still be typically cheaper to buy prebuilt. Maybe if you get the 6700 xt & don't mind the lack of DLSS & hit on raytracing you'd save a few hundred over a similar prebuilt.

  • +1

will wait until near RRP around 1000-1100 for this card.
