  • I note some of the units are supplied by Wireless1.
The prices are a lot cheaper via eBay (when paired with a 15% discount code).

    • What’s the discount code?

      • +1

There isn't one that works for them right now. But yeah, they were indeed much cheaper just recently.

  • +1

-3% Amazon GiftCards via Suncorp App ;)

  • But i just spent all my money on the seagate.

  • LOL

  • -3

    Thanks bought 5

    • +1

Should have bought during the recent ~$650 eBay deal then instead.

  • Really want to give it a try, but worried that this set may be a bit too heavy. Is it possible to return the set if I try and dont like it? I mean if Amazon have a different return policy for Apple's stuff?

    • +2

Why not try them in an Apple store? (After lockdown if you are in Sydney)
      I tried before and it's super heavy…

      • It sounds like these will be the perfect companion to go with my weighted vest, ankle weights, and wrist weights.

  • Band 28?

  • NFC ?

  • Only 1 each of Space Grey and Sky Blue being sold by Amazon AU.

The other colours are by a 3rd party seller (wireless 1 eShop), so keep that in-mind when purchasing.

  • Wow, Amazon finally started selling apple products!
Since when did they start selling Apple products?

    • -1

It's shipped by Amazon from stock held in their warehouses by a third party Apple reseller.

I don't think Apple would be too happy with this.

      • I don’t think so, in the US amazon has a license to sell apple products as normal so it makes sense that in AU now amazon started getting stock from apple for sale. Also looks like they’re selling genuine accessories too which third parties usually don’t sell like leather airtag key ring made by Apple

      • No, it’s sold my Amazon.

        • -1

          Ships from: Amazon
          Sold by: iFrog

          • -1

            @ozturtle: The pink one says
            Ships from: Amazon AU
            Sold by: Amazon AU
So that means amazon direct has started selling apple products lately
EDIT: Amazon direct has ran out of stock but it was definitely sold by them. Also there are other Apple products that Amazon is selling that are in stock currently like iPads, apple watches and Apple TV’s etc.

            • -1

@jayboi: 13 hours ago it was the same when I made my first comment.

All colours are showing either iFrog or Wireless 1 eShop

worst headphones you can get for the price

    • +2

Can you please suggest another set that supports Apple multi device with handoff?

      • That's exactly what's wrong with Apple. These headphones weigh and cost like an audiophile set while their sound is barely okay. It's Apple basically forcing their customers to spend a awful lot of money for something that's not worth it. Same goes for Apple watch, imo. I think it looks terrible and cost way too much, but that's the only option if you want something that works well with iPhone. I used to be an iPhone user and am not anymore because of this bs. I still appreciate and own their computers and MacOs, and I think they're worth the money, and I'm in no way an Apple hater (you could have called me almost a fanboy few years ago), but their mobile section is a big ripoff, they act like a luxury brand rather than a tech brand and I can't really stand it.

        • -1

Just for some background. I have Galaxy Watch Active 2, also had MANY other Android smartwatches like Fossil gen 5 Carlyle. These watches are 8/10th of the price of the Apple iWatch, but in my experience still inferior in speed, usability, ui, ux, features, and integration. Appearance is only subjective, as I hate seeing my texts/images/emails crammed into a circle display.
I also love headphones, and spend way too much on them, and I also get a budget through work for headphones. And the Apple Headphones are great, they are in no way better than other headphones I have, but they are greatly better than and mid range set like XM3/4, QC35, Surface Headphones etc.
Then there is the iPhone, I have been using android for over 11 years now, and I have only just bought an iphone. So far all I can say is that the iPhone I bought was cheaper RRP than all the galaxy and pixel phones I have bought, the build materials and quality is lightyears better, and the support/update speed is in a league of their own. I don't care which one is better, but you can't sit there and say crap like you said without really thinking it through. I am no fan of anything, I just love tech.

        • +2

I don't think weight is really a consideration in the audiophile world. Sounds is praised in all reviews. The headphones have a very high build quality which is evident in any teardown.

Apple watch has a superior processor and feature set compared to WearOS. Apple is ahead of its competition when it comes to smartwatches.

As for phones, the support period is longer than android devices. There's also no(or minimal) bloatware. Yes, the ecosystem is more locked down. Regardless of your personal thoughts on their phones, they have over 50% of the market in Australia.

This idea that they're more a luxury brand than a tech brand is ridiculous and simply recycling an old meme.

I don't really care what you buy, but coming online and making these broad generalisations and just outright lying about a product because of its price tag is not a good look and not helpful to anyone.

  • +2

Are people actually paying these crazy prices? More fool them.

  • +1

Not that it's saying much but the Pink version (my personal choice if I was buying) is now $728.99 (at time of posting: One left In Stock).

Still an obscene price (and I'm an Apple fanboy) and I'm totally fine with my Sony WH-1000XM4's, but food (food… Apples… GET IT!) for thought.

    • -5

I don't get it, what do you mean by food? These are headphones not food

    • To put it in perspective, it matters how much you use them. I've used my last expensive set of BT headphones for almost 5 years due to high quality materials being used. XM4's are plastic and fake leather. The same goes for phones right? Buy a pixel 4a for $600 or an iPhone for $1300, what really depicts it's value is how long you use them for.

      • That is a good point. Hate these headphones with passion but you may have pointed out the only real good reason that could justify the price.
Still way too much though, these things are heavy and sound just okay.

And let's not forget their travel case looks like a bra.

        • +1

Yea haha, even my last set of cans, which cost more than this, didn't come with a case. People seem to love XM3/4 and they just sound okay also.

          • -1

@onlinepred: Sound quality is similar between Apple, Bose and Sony, with probably a slight edge for Bose. But Apple costs more than twice as much and are the least comfortable.
Only good reason is more durability, however as soon as Apple will present version 2, the sheep will sell them and buy the new ones anyway 😂

            • +2

@liongalahad: If you honestly think your Bose (can only assume QC35), sounds as good as these Apple Headphones, then you really haven't tested them yourself, nor do you have an interest in headphones.
I won't continue this chat since you don't really know what you are talking about.

        • +1

You hate a product with a passion to the point that you feel the need to lie about them or criticise them on subjective elements? Don't you have better things to do?

  • Genuine question. Why are these so expensive. I have Bose QC and they were approx 350. The Bose are great so I'm not sure how the Apple headphones can be so expensive

    • -1

What you are effectively asking is, I have Moki headphones from JB for $20. The Moki are great so I'm not sure how the Bose headphones can be so expensive.

      • No

      • -2

Bose sound better and have the best noise cancelling technology.and are probably the most comfortable headphones in the market.
Apple are bulky, sound okay, and their case look like a bra.

To answer the original question, the reason for the price is
-Apple acting like a luxury brand rather than a tech brand
        - good and durable materials, as pointed out by others
        - good noise cancelling technology

You can read the detailed technical review on rtings.com and compare it with Bose and Sony

        • +1

If you use rtings to compare these, then clearly audio ability doesn’t matter to you. My favourite cans of all time rate poorly on rtings. Once you go beyond midrange cans you start to look for certain profiles and not just bass heavy cans. Anyway, glad you enjoy your Bose, just know that as you delve deeper into the love for headphones, you rely less and less on websites like rtings and more on physically testing them yourself. Things like build quality, build materials and profiles are more important to some than just price. Compare your qc35 to sennhesier momentum wireless 3 and then get back to me.

          • @onlinepred: You've been very dismissive of pretty much every comment on here that isn't praising the AirPods Max.

I've owned a pair of QC35s since they very first came out, and before the pandemic had used them on hundreds of flights over nearly a million Km of distance, often sleeping in them. I've found their build quality to be second to none. I'm very confident that the AirPods Max wouldn't have lasted nearly this long, purely because of the ridiculous design of the case (calling it a case is even a stretch)!

I've very recently just upgraded to the XM4s, mainly because of the micro usb charger plug in the QC35s rather than any quality issues. I've read countless reviews comparing the three, and really the only area that the AirPods have any clear advantage is the sound quality, and the consensus seemed to be that they aren't a huge improvement over the other two. In another comment you compared the gap of the Boses to $20 headphones to how much better the AirPods are, I really can't believe you've ever tried the Boses or Sonys after reading this, I've tried all three and the difference is marginal at best.

The AirPods Max are currently costing easily double the cost of a good deal on XM4s or Bose 700s, I just can't see any way they justify that huge premium over two very well established competitors.

            • @rfarlz: Exactly, and for users like you, the Bose or Sony would suit you perfectly.

I’ve owned qc25, qc35, tested 700 at work over many days, owned xm3 and sold then, tested xm4 at work. They are fantastic value for noise cancelling headphones IF that’s your primary use case.

I ended up selling my xm3 and got beoplay h9i, I also bought master and dynamic mw65. These two cans are incredible Bluetooth headphones. If you are serious about sound, these and the PX should be in consideration. These add value through using actual quality materials like real leather (lamb skin in most cases for the best seal and not affecting sound too much. Keep in mind, that these will not be as comfortable as qc35 (the most comfortable IMO). Now I’ve used the airpods headphones at work, and their transparency mode is the best on any headphone I’ve used, and IMO they sounded far less artificially EQd like the Sony and Bose cans. All of this really depends on what type of music you listen to, and how you compare them. I have a playlist that I use to demo headphones, and certain tracks I am very family with, certain instruments and vocals for example. There is mich more to headphones than just bass/treble etc, such as imaging ability. Sound accuracy IMO does not sound good to me. Studio tuned headphones sound terrible.

Anyway, I could go on and on as I love headphones haha.
