Might want to update the link, it goes to 2 for $30 games.

    • I tried again and it still going to the Blu Rays. Did you let the page load fully? It shows a flash of "2 for $30 games" but then loads the page with all the Blu Rays on it.

      • Works for me

Mine showed a flash of the Blu Rays and then loaded fully on the games. Hmm

        • Tried on multiple browsers both in desktop and mobile, the link still takes me to the 4k Star Wars Blu-Rays.

Great opportunity to get all six movies

  • When did the prequels and original trilogy in 4k release? how's the quality?

    • -1

Streamed them on disney plus they look great

These came out about a year ago. If they are the same discs I bought on day 1, they have 3 discs per movie - 4K, standard Bluray, and special features disc.

The quality is excellent. The original trilogy looks incredible (though the original movie's low budget is made apparent by the high quality at times). The prequel trilogy doesn't look as good. Episodes II and III were shot in 1080 HD, so the 4K is upscaled from that. Episode I has a slightly soft image due to the way the movie was completed with sub-HD visual effects.

    • I'd say buy these so you don't feel guilty watching 4K77 etc.

Dammit, now I want to buy these even though I don't have a player for them… just because I'm a hopeless fan, already having multiple VHS releases (original/special), multiple DVD releases, Bluray box sets and one laser disc. Might also have to pick up a UHD drive for my PC

    • Agreed. The original trilogy as close to the original theatrical release as possible.

The prequels and Disney movies are trash, as are the rereleased trilogy versions. Actually the one exception is Rogue One. I thought that was better than the rest of the recent releases.

      • What's the difference between original trilogy and re released version?

        • +2

Everything available now has the changes made in the 90s, such as Greedo shooting first and Han standing on Jabba's tail. \

          • @PoxyRadical: Plus the introduction of new CGI in the late 90s that now looks incredibly dated

        • The current versions of the movies have some minor edits, and the image was cleaned up significantly, and a lot of the flaws with the original special effects were corrected with modern technology. Some extra details were added to make the 6 movies look more similar (e.g. extra vehicles and characters in the background, replacing some hokey 70s alien masks) and to do some things that weren't possible when the movies were originally made (e.g. adding windows in Cloud City to make the place feel more expansive and less like a studio).

@djgreedo: Sorry they're awful. You wanna spend your money… go for it.

        • You also have to deal with Hayden Christensen replacing Sebastian Shaw as Anakin in Jedi, and Kiwi Boba Fett

    • i appreciate the work the dude and his team has done but holy shit that entire page just makes him sound like a giant pretentious twat lol

      • Haha, fair. I prefer the originals because I’m an old man, so it’s great that it’s been done. I guess you gotta be a prat to care that much to do it.

    Overpriced for Disney films :)

    Rogue One is the exception.

  • +2

I'm tempted to buy all 6 of them at this price!

I remember seeing the original versions in the cinema and on VHS, when the special editions were released back in 1997 I was pretty excited and enjoyed them for what they were.

In hindsight, I prefer the original versions especially when the first film was just called Star Wars, with no episode title and number.

The only aspect that I like about the special editions were the cleaner prints.

There are non specialised versions out there like Harmy's Despecialized Editions and Project 4K77.

In a perfect world, these are the only Star Wars films that should exist!

But I have to admit that I love Revenge of The Sith!

    • ROTS is OK except for the embarrassingly bad romance scenes.

      • I thought that was Attack of the clones?

What's the likelihood of Amazon price matching these?

  • Can 4K blu rays play on a regular blu ray player?

    • +2

Don't think so, but they should play on new game consoles like the PS4 & 5, and Xbox One/Series X.

      • Thank you. Only the Nintendo Wii etc. versions here.

      • +1

They won't play on any of the PS4s or Xbox one OG. But will work on Xbox One S/X and current gen consoles

    • +2

It wouldn't be called 4K Bluray if it can be played on the normal Bluray player. They will just call it Bluray disc. Also most 4K Bluray movies comes with a normal Bluray disc.

      • Thank you.

  • overpriced

  • Note you can call 13 52 44 to get them to price match/beat other websites and then stack with 5% off code then 5% off gift cards…

    • 4K Blu-ray Episodes I through VII and Rogue One are exclusive to JB in Australia.

Thought I posted in the general 5% off post my bad. Did that to buy tv and soundbar , did not know it was possible

    Thanks mate!

old man talking [on] The only ones that count for me is the initial trilogy, the rest I couldn't even see until the end, so boring. I have the trilogy on VHS, LaserDisc, Super 8 and now UHD[off]

Just in case if someone is looking for Original Trilogy also on sale $13.99 (this includes adding more CGI, and the notorious Han Solo shot first scene in A New Hope)
