This is quite a good deal considering it's the fastest single GPU card in the world today. Amazon does quite amazing deals on computer parts and comes with cheap international shipping.

On shopbot and staticice the cheapest for a similar card is $649 (exclude shipping). Save over $100, not bad at all.

Not sure if most people will want to wait a few months..

Usually ships within 5 to 7 weeks.
Ships from and sold by Amazon.com.

  • Niice.. shame I already bought a 6970

  • Make sure that the return policy suits you before purchasing as you may have to ship it back overseas.

Video cards are expensive and fail often, factor in that it will die at some point and if its worth getting it elsewhere etc

    • And you'll have to pay for shipping both ways, which'll be about $100 all up I'd imagine.

      • amazon are usually pretty good and pay (at least part of) the return, i had an issue with a device that wasnt as specified, (working ok) couldnt return it because of shipping a battery, and they ended up giving me a full refund and letting me keep the device.

        • That's pretty cool. I was basing it more on a warranty return than DOA though, and Diamond Multimedia won't cover shipping costs in either direction. Does come with a 5 year warranty though if you register it within 30 days; otherwise it only has a 1 year warranty.

  • thanks I didnt know Amazon ships to Australia for graphics card. I bought a Sapphire 6870 for $175 including
shipping which is pretty good since the cheapest is $179 without shipping in Australia

    • I think amazon have relaxed alot of their international shipping restrictions recently. Alot more products do international shipping now.

  • Good deals! now looking for a good CPU

  • what is the comparable nVidia for this card?

    • there is none

      kepler isn't out yet

      • when are nvidia planing on releasing their cards?

        • In a couple of months

    • I believe the gtx 590 is similar if not a little better according to tomshardware.

      • That is a dual GPU, though while it maybe faster it has a much larger power draw and greater amount of heat dissipated. Also through what I've seen, dual GPU's can have a few more problems with drivers than single GPU's.

Shortly AMD's 7990 will be released which will be a dual GPU also.

With my OC'd 6950 I find I still can play the latest games at max/nearly max settings on 1920 x 1200.

        • Game also has to be optimised for dual core, same as CPUs if the program isn’t optimised its best of having a single core (ok maybe dual core) high frequency chip rather than a 8 core slightly slower clock speed chip

  • damn that's not bad - i sell these for $620 inc gst and that's pretty much at cost!

too bad about the 5-7 weeks shipping - and good luck with any warranty!

5-7 weeks shipping kills this deal for me!

Nvidia's new high end card will be out and your still waiting for your AMD high end card LOL

Bad news for AMD's fanbois :P

        • AMD FTW!

actually I dont really care, however AMD has always seemed to be better value for money, if it where just nVidia, I think they'd try to extract as much $$$ as possible and not release anything new… they already seem to charge a fair bit more for simular specc'd cards…

typically i just go for bang for buck according to reviews, no matter which brand. much of a muchness.

as far as CPUs go though, never had any issues with intel, so not an AMD fanboi, even if i like there graphics cards.
