    Any deals for a similar printer (specifically duplex printing AND scanning, and if it can email said scan even better) but in mono? I've been looking at the Brother MFC-L2750DW for ages but stock has been pretty poor

            Just like it’s done for many years, Lexmark offers its Return Program, which is a loyalty program that provides customers with a free high-yield toner cartridge for every 10 toner cartridges sent back to Lexmark for recycling. It also provides a free imaging kit when needed. Consumable prices under the Return Program tend to be significantly cheaper.

            I don't know if this program is valid in Australia as it's a US source for the above.

            Edit: Found the Australian version of the program and it's worse.

            Supplies sold at a discount versus the prices of regular cartridges
            Customer agrees to use cartridges once and return to Lexmark for remanufacturing or recycling.
            Note: Not all supplies are available through the Return Programme

            And then:

            These patented cartridges are licensed for single use only and will stop working after delivering a fixed amount of ink and/or toner. Ink and/or toner may remain in the cartridge when replacement is required.

            So you:

            • Agree to send the cartridges back.
            • Get no free cartridge every ten returns.
            • Agree to replace the cartridge before it is really empty.

            On second thought, I think I'll stick to the Brother MFC-L3770CDW.

        That's expensive. 100$ for 4 pack for brother mfc9330cdw. Printer itself was 375$.

    Whenever you choose a printer, also take toner/ink cost into consideration as that typically would make up for majority of your cost.

    I made a bad decision in the past by buying a very cheap color inkjet printer as I don't print much. Then covid came and home schooling meaning kids needs to print more and I ended up paying 10x the cost of the printer in less than 2 years in order to run it.

    Just bought a mono-laser printer and definitely not going to make the same mistake. Also check the cost of toner and factor it into your total cost of ownership.

      Definitely agree with you, long term costs such as toners and parts are important to take into consideration!

      Lexmark as a B2C (home use) printer is one of the best price per page value you can get on the market.
      For their standard black toners that yield 1,500 pages, it costs about 0.054 cents to print per page. Majority of their toners can equate to less than half a cent per page.

          Hey, this is a good printer too. The only thing is that it is not wireless and cannot be connected to network.

        Are you suggesting that I can print ~18 pages for 1 cent?

        Or do you mean it costs 0.054 dollars per page, ie 5.4 cents per page.

        Majority of their toners can equate to less than half a cent per page.

        So that's <$0.005 or <0.5 cents?

          No that was the one model up, the 3770 I believe. So I was wrong, thought it did, never had to use it

        While the MFC-L3750CDW has duplex printing, it only has a single sided ADF scanner. You'd need to step up to the MFC-L3770CDW to get the same duplex ADF scanner as this Lexmark.

          I was waiting for a MFC-L3770CDW to come into stock at Umart for $500. They've been sold out for a while, and my Fuji-Xerox 205fw is recently cactus.

          Wish I could find some review comparing the MFC-L3770CDW to the CX431adw.

          Although the $400 MFC-L3750CDW is tempting. As far as I can see that $100 is only for the 2-sided scanning.

    In my opinion, beats the Brother MFC-L3770CDW.

    It is much more durable and can handle huge print loads to that of the Brother.
    Its on going costs associated with toner much lower and provide greater value for money (cost per page) compared to Brother.

    Due to the Brother Printer shortage, a lot of customers are discovering Lexmark to be the better alternative.

      I searched and found that a 4 pack toner for Brother is about $100 for 2500 pages, whereas 4 pack Lexmark costs shy of $400 for 1500 pages.

      Can you please explain how the "on going costs associated with toner much lower and provide greater value for money (cost per page) compared to Brother"?

                  @witsa: Printer manufacturers basically only push updates to block non genuine cartridges/toner, it's rarely if ever a security update. So the 3rd party sellers need to then update their chips to make them compatible again.
