        my bad

  • Decent TV for a decent price. Good for kids.

    How do you pronounce FFalcon?

  • https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/638714 I
Personally think the TCL would be a better product

    • That one's full hd mate

      • +2

Has 3 year warranty vs 1 year. Given they're made by the same company I'm sure they'd know why one would last much longer than the other.

        • 3840x2160 vs 1920x1080p

Different classes of product my guy.
Also 1080p on anything larger that 27"and the pixels become pretty visible if you've seen a display with a higher ppi imo and ik alot of people would agree with this. Example would be my 27g2 by my s2721dgf. Day and night.

Some potential downsides to the Ffalcon are the 50hz display, no hdr, and Linux based? (Dunno if that's a downside but I'd prolly drop on a shield or roku.)

Also 319+del is pretty decent for a 4k display at that size.

    • The TCL is a 43 inch TV.

This deal is for a 50 inch TV.

New member posting JB deal seems to happen more than lockdowns.

Yeap I know, too bored for being locked down.

  • is it same as the TCL ones? I bought the 55 inch for extra $100. Just wondering worthwhile canceling that and getting this instead?

    • TCL are a better brand by far.

This one looks to just be a rebranded random Chinese factory TV. Probably be alright but I'd keep the TCL if I were you.

      • Thanks! Appreciate it.

      • FYI, FFalcon is a brand by TCL (basically their budget brand).

    • yeah looking at the specs on tcl and ffalcon sites they are the same

same resolution, brightness, contrast, viewing angles - same panel probably? HDR 10, Freeview Plus

possibly the ffalcon model has slower hardware? or some other place they cut the corners to make it cheaper? shorter warranty is one

      otherwise I don't know

I bought the TCL one, and I'll stick to that, but that's me, I like to have longer warranty, and $ difference is small enough

I have a 55 inch of ffalcon. Awesome TV. No dramas.

    • I have the 55 one as well. It's HDR is pretty impressive.

Lulz it's not actually HDR but ok.

Decent price for a cheap big TV ☺️

  • check out the reviews before you get dreamy eyes about the price:

    • Not going to buy this tv. However I am in the market to get a New second tv withinthe next few months.
Having said that this tv looks ok. Read the reviews. Main complaints are around wifi and apps interface.
I am looking for a tv that I can connect my 4K Firestick tv to a hdmi port, so basically don’t care as longs as I can tell Alexa to turn tv on/off and interact with the Firestick interface.
Of course a would look for nice large picture quality but interface is not an issue for me.

Wrong model - that’s the older one

    • Check out the reviews for this model on the JB product page.

don't do it these TV's are garbage

    • I have the 55" version and it is the best out ofnthe cheapies. Remote and apps are responsive and audio is much better than Aldi TVs.

    • +4

Ffs, it's a 50 inch UHD TV for $300. What are you expecting, top notch quality???

  • Ffalcon is a brand owned by TCL.

    • Tcl is charging a bit premium for their three years warranty i guess, otherwise they shouldn't have too much of difference.

  • +1

Have a 55inch one of these paired with an Apple TV 4K for the bedroom - great for a bedroom or kids room but that’s about it.

  • +1

These seem hit or miss on quality, One I've got for home has worked flawlessly over last year and a bit.. Office purchased quite a few of same model and occasionally a couple of them fail to power on properly and have to be hard reset from wall to bring them back to life.

It's like they get stuck booting and the panel just never comes online.

Otherwise though is perfect for secondary/kids room for TV, Netflix and switch etc.

    • +3

When that happens do you say "ah F' Falcons sake"?

  • Good price
