Hmm the mention of Lego brought me here but there's no Lego. Not cool. 🙄

  • Looks awesome even if it's not lego… But not sure I want to drop $200+ at an unknown store…

  • oh I've seen this on brickmeet, it's a very nice set!
I'm really into cobi historical vehicles so hopefully bargains I'm unaware of will be posted :)

I have bought this (non-motorised version) for $95 AUD and it's an awesome build. Brick quality is on par with Lego at 30% of the price.

These prices aren't the cheapest though. So if anyone actually wants to purchase this PM me and I'll give you a wiki to help source them.

    • You have purchased the CaDa version for $95 shipped? I would like to know where as that is the cheapest price I have heard of.

    • Any chance you might be able to share those details publically here?

Cada is probably the more "legit" brand, they generally don't (I think ever???) copy actual lego sets, and either make their own, or use peoples MOCs, if they use peoples MOC's they either contact the person who made it and make a deal, or tell you to buy their instructions for it.

As far as quality goes, you wont ever notice the difference, I haven't.

    • Yeah Cada kits are really great, I've built their Porsche 919 kit and was really impressed with it, especially for the price. Makes me wish they did their own version of the RSR 2017, can't stand the way the Lego one looks.

Don't support shitty chinese knock offs ffs

    • +1

this not a knock off…so chill

    • It's an original design, possibly better than what LEGO themselves could produce, particularly at this price point.

The fact that it has a working 4 speed gearbox and RC functions is amazing engineering and design

It's irrelevant that it's Chinese and I can't see how bringing race into an argument helps anything

      • The model may be an original design, but almost every single piece is a direct copy of Lego???
No it is relevant that its chinese. The chinese have copied just about everything that required another company to spend years designing. Don't support companies that blatantly steal lol simple

        • steal??? i can copy a lego brick tomorrow..its not under patent anymore…its not stealing ….as long as i don't call it lego…

          • +1

@bugman: You might be surprised how many Lego parts are still under patent. Sure some of the original parts are now off patent, but there are a significant number of parts in every set that will still be patented.

            • -1

@masuta: i would be, you are confused between patent and trademarked. There are only very limited number of parts, and these are base plates with unique pattern and mini-figures ect….things that are NOT technical in nature are copyrighted/trademarked. As they are seen as NON-technical they can be trademarked but has nothing to do with the patents.

So NO technical bricks in this CADA model would be under patent or trademarked status.

Shipping is $58.65 for a total of $280.88 making this not a deal. I normally buy from ywobb which is not the cheapest, but is reliable and it is listed on his site for $259.35 AUD shipped.

  • yep ywobb .. just got a delivery this week orange gtrs…only took 1 week to arrive….only slightly more expensive but you know what you will get…

    • Do ywobb really not give you the original box?

Seems like too nice of packaging not too get it, particularly for this price.
