  • I may do this. My final nectr credit is due now (12 month loyalty bonus) and they wont let us get referrals here so I am leaving.

    • Did nectr remove all referral links on Ozbargain?

      • yes ages ago, they will be losing me because of this.

        • I am leaving nectr as well

  • June offer

  • +2

When select gas only it does not offer me any plans. When I select Gas and Electricity gas it show plan with rates. Why?

    • what are their rates like?

    • Same. They want your electricity as most retailers make zip on gas.

  • Would I be eligible if I took up the last offer?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/622976

    • I think you would. But have you received the giftcards from that deal yet?

    • As per previous post from Manyo with Origin:
"you must remain on the plan for 30 days. After this period your eligibility will be validated and Giftcards will be sent 120days post switch. However, if you changed your provider again at say 45 days (or any time after 30 days) you will still get the gift card."

      • Thanks PLIHA5, that is correct - as per T&C's of the previous offer so long as you are successful in switching and don't cancel within the first 30 days you are able to change at any point after that.

  • Can I compare rates vs origen?

    • +1

Hi Jono258, you can compare energy prices against a range of retailers on econnex.com.au however, to be eligible for this offer you will need to switch on the link above

  • it doesnt say anything about the 100 on the quote page, just that you go into the draw for 500?

  • Whats the rate they are offering?

  • I dont receive my bill until the 25th which should have my credit on it, please try and get offer extended

  • you need to update website , no mention of $200, on plan details it says
"Sign up to this offer and automatically go into the draw to win a $500 Alinta Energy bill credit! – T&Cs including eligibility criteria apply & are available at
    alintaenergy.com.au/win500
actually when you click your link it says "June offer"

    • Hi deb3103, the bill credit competition is offered by the retailer (where it is up to their discretion to change that at any point) whereas the gift cards are being offered by Econnex. Within Plan details, Econnex only shows retailer information.

  • When did woolworths egift cards start using expiry dates? I'm so confused.

  • +2

ReAmped still got better rates for me

daily supply rate 0.71ish vs 0.93ish for alinta

didnt check other rates, table was a bit confusing. also got a connection / disconnection fee which kinda reduced the gift card bonus

    • My understand is that disconnection and connection is only when necessary u move houses. Not when you are churning.

  • Still nore expensive than Tango and SimplyEnergy

  • +2

Everytime I see deals like this you have to ask yourself, how much extra profit has been padded in to justify them giving you a gift card.

    • +1

      Exactly.
It's electrons down a wire. I will pay whoever gives me the electrons at the cheapest rate.
So many bloated retailers who just print bills a different way and offer incentives that are padded into the rates.

    • Hi Kapone, we actually have the same plans over on our comparison site - these are directly from the retailer and provide full transparency of all the potential charges. Most of which are the same as those offered directly through the retailer.

    • Might be zero, since the goal is to build a long term customer base.

  • Can't find the rates for essential energy, just want to look them up for myself and work it out.

  • Have tried twice now but can't get it past the credit check. my CGS seems fine since last month (very good) but they said my application is unsuccessful. /shrug. can't join this poorly rated energy company even though i have money to spend heh

  • CovaU offers $200 credit on electricity and gas.
Anyone know the rates from CovaU and how does it compare to Alinta?

    • I think is 16 oer cent below reference, alinta appears better, 25 per cent

  • Hi, can i book a switch in Oct and still valid for the gift cards? does it have a deadline that switch must occur before it?

    • Hi vincentweioz, you can only book a move in up to 30 days from the day you put through the request so unfortunately, you won't be able to book a move in for October under this offer.

  • Jemena:

18.9c/kWh + 88c/day + what looks like Kayo basic AND their FIT is still listed as 10.2ckwh.

Not the best out there, but not terrible. May be worthwhile in summer.

  • +4

Beaware: they are changing Solar Feed-in Tariffs from 10.2cents to 6.7cents from 1st of August.

  • Using Alinta Energy website I can get a quote for Gas but using your comparison website it just says "Unfortunately your selections have resulted in no available offers".

Cashrewards is using your comparison website and even there it shows all the other electricity / gas company offers but does not show Alinta Energy…

    • by using cashreward -> Econnex -> Alinta ? do this will get cashreward $112 each cash back?

  • Hi all / Rep
Does anyone know whether you can sign up with a contract?
Just worried that FIT will change shortly after joining. Current retailer advised it's dropping to 6.7cents in August.

    • I checked with Alinta Energy >>From 1st August Solar Feed-in Tariffs will be 6.7cents.

      • thanks for the info!
what are you going to do about your plan then? 6.7 cents is really almost not worth turning it on

  • Hi all, considering making the switch from AGL as they are super expensive, but also comparing again Momentum. Does anyone have any preference or recommendation for Gas and Electricity? Thanks so much

    • Are they? I keep ending up back with AGL it seems.

      • Unfortunately for me :( I keep getting charged for gas estimates for 7 people in my household, when there is only 2, and none of us are home during the day. It's very bizzare and i'm tired of paying so much for not using that much.

        • Can you submit a self meter read?

          • @Steptoe: I've done that a few times but no idea if that's achieved anything

            • @swifty7: Why not just pay quarterly on an actual read? I've never tried paying monthly. Figure I might as well hold onto the money til it's due

              • @SgtBatten: That's a really good point. I think i'm so used to monthly payments, i must have opted for it.

  • I may join on the 22nd. My billlng cycle ends on 24th.

  • Hi Rep - Does this deal apply for moving into a new place and not switching?

    • Hi descavenger, yes new connections are also valid.

  • +1

Hey Rep, can't seem to find any rates for my post code on the link but when entered on Alinta website it shows up!!

  • +1

Why can't I just get a gas plan? It only allows me to get a combo gas/electricity plan. I don't want to loose my 14c/kwh feed in tariff with Origin.

  • +2

Won't let me just sign up to gas only plan

  • "Gift Cards are valid for 3 months."
    Are you sure?

  • +1

AlintaEnergy website accepts gas only plan, but not via Econnex?

  • not available for small business

  • Hi Rep, I have switched to Alinta, and received an email saying that the switch over to Alinta could take up to 3 months, due to meter read. (Last meter read was 19/06/2021). Will I still be eligible for the Woolworths gift card?
    Thank you.

    • I would like t know too, if sign up today

    • +1

Hi caleballen, yes you will still be able to get the Giftcard. As long as you submit the request to switch within the promo period and successfully sign up to Alinta you will be eligible post the first 30 days.

  • The rates are very good for my address however I'm a bit concern about the connection / disconnection fees:

for electricity on Endeavour network: $73.92 In / $73.92 Out,
for gas on Jemena network: $12.43 In / BUT $200.20 Out!

From my previous moves, I don't remember paying any move in/out fee, for electricity since it was smart meter, it sent the reading remotely to the network distributor (eg Endeavour) who then pass it to the my retailer for billing, so no fee at all, for gas I did have to pay a special meter reading fee which was approx $12.

I tried google this and found this: https://www.canstarblue.com.au/electricity/connection-discon… it seems for both electricity and gas the fees range from $10~$50, Anyone know if Alinta really charges $200 for gas if move out?

    • Got to call them to check as it is base price on your location. It is charged by the providers.

  • Hi Rep, I've signed up today as well, will there be an email confirmation regarding the gift card, after the switch has been made? thanks

    • Hi bubblybubble. Once your switch has been successful you will receive an email from Alinta and once have been validated post the first 30days you will receive an email with the giftcaard

  • I have totally missed this haven't i?

    • Hi Swifty7, yes unfortunately. Keep an eye out Econnex tries to have campaign’s like this each month!
