      I am interest in 550d too,so I went to Parramatta westfield today. JB only has twin lens on stock, best price is for $780.DSE sell same stock for $940.saddly I miss out the DSE online sale on D550 twin IS lens for $696 and camera house sale on single len for $599. I am awaiting price drop to get one. Any advice or valuable info?I am sure you can get OZ stock for single len around$600 or twin lens around$700. Japan Model is cheaper on ebay,but I don't know whether it has difference on performance.

        Jap model and the normal model, in terms of performance are the same. The difference are the menus. With the international version, the 550d has many languages used around the world, the Jap version or the kiss x4, only has a few langauges but has english however people have said it ships in a japanese language and u need to change it to english in the setup menu. So other than requirement of changing the language, its exactly the same. Also the warranty difference as well, but performance wise, its exactly the same

    hmm… as usual, plenty of negs, not one pointing to a better deal….

    look to the bottom line people……. excluding all the largely irrelevant stuff like shipping, content of photos, historical pricing of other models, etc… is this the cheapest?

    Why people neg it? It is the best deal atm. What's the point of comparing it to past expired deals? Can you go to Dick smith now & get it?
    $99 shipping a joke, but can you do better? Would $508.95 for camera with $20 shipping be a better deal? The total would be still the same.

    it's not the best deal at the moment, this is with the non-IS lens for $529. I was looking just recently for a 550D/Kiss-X4 but got the Pentax K-x instead, the best prices I could find with IS lens is:

    Why do people keep saying this comes without the IS lens? It is the kit lens for the 550d which is IS. I bought previously from SS and the 550d came with an IS lens.

    $530 delivered is the cheapest price out there for a 55d. The deals davidf has shown excludes delivery!

      both prices I quoted above include (free) shipping, there's not much point comparing prices off the web if you don't include shipping
