don't even have a road bike yet but I want one

Wow I could see out iso through buying a few of these, pair them up with a mapei or molteni jersey, hop onto an old steel colnago with non-indexed downtube shifters, brooks saddle and toe cages and ride around inside the 5km exercise bubble arguing with other riders at traffic lights about the true value of rim brakes.

      durianrider is that you 😆

  • +3

They are all so ugly. Still tempted to buy one though.

  • Serious question…if you have to wear a helmet, when do you wear these?

    • +1

You wear it under the helmet

    • +11

They're real handy to wear underneath your helmet in summer on rides so sweat doesn't roll down your face

      • Good to know.

      • That's the main reason I wear one.
Brim carb keep sun and rain out of eyes, keep head warmer in winter, Houses helmet hair at cafe etc

Just remember Rule 22 - Cycling Caps are for Cycling https://www.velominati.com/comment-page-8/

      • +1

That was a good laugh only managed to get to rule 22 😂

    • cycling caps don't have that button on top that other styles of caps like baseball or truckers do.

Anyone remember the movie White Men Can't Jump? Wesley Snipes wore a wonderful selection of cycling caps for most of the movie……

Would upvote this twice if I could. Cycling caps marginally edge out cinematography as best thing about that film :)

  • Click and collect?
All the good ones are gone but any are good for this price

Cheers ordered two, good deal.. even 15$ is fair (got a bianchi one already)
Good to have a few more, they wear out after a while and elastic goes.

Which one of you (profanity) bought the last 7/11 hat?

    • i missed out on it as well was in cart
should have done one ordered, doesn't work again. got a couple anyway

    • I did … but just received the cancellation to say it's out of stock (although definitely was in stock when I was shopping early yesterday)

      • Mine seemed to have gone through but got a follow up email

  • I have a really fat head (62cm circumference) anyone know a good cap for my needs?

    • +1

I’ve got a head like a watermelon too so struggle with the common One Size Fits All caps. Have had good luck with cycling cap brands that offer different sizes. Had good luck with Walz, Specialized and also handmade Aussie brand No16.

      • +1

Same here, I normally clean up on those Pushys helmet sales when all the helmets in regular sizes are gone and they are cleaning out the last couple of XL helmets at massive discounts. After missing out you'll be crying yourself to sleep tonight on your huge pillow https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBVSwH3KPPc

        • +1

Agree on the Walz and No 16 caps

  • Bought 3… looks like I've just started my bicycle cap collection… (Already had the Mapei one when they were handing them out for free at the Cadel Evans People's Ride in Geelong in 2019).

  • Thanks OP. I wanted to get the AG2R cap to support Ben O'Connor, but sold out :-(

  • Damn they flew. Can’t find 1 left…

Not trolling, on what occasion do you wear these caps?

    • +1

      Everytime I head out

    • On the occasion you’re cycling

      • You meant under the helmet?

  • Out of stock? Someone's taking apis.

  • Got mine today - super quick delivery !

  • Yeah pretty quick. May need an iron to get the front stitching area to sit properly and one brim was a little bent.
Good for the price though, if you put them in the washing machine they can get bent anyway.

  • bit rubbish quality on this batch, probably why it was cheap.
my previous ones were folded own on the piece that has the stitching near the front..
good enough though ,and put in a price protection claim for my last one :)
    tip: don't iron the brims
