Intel Core i7 10700K Processor Avenger Edition 10700KA $399 + Delivery ($0 Melbourne C&C) @ BPC Tech

610

Was looking for a i7-10700 for a office PC but cheapest I can find in stock is $419, then I found this. Don't really need the "K' but for a bit less why not! Just need to source a cooler for it.

Is there a reason why the avengers are on the box?

    • Marketing - includes a commemorative card and avengers game inside the box

      • +15

Game not included is written on the box

        • +3

          Game is pretty meh anyway.

        • +1

          Another positive!

      • +2

Can confirm that I bought this as part of a gaming PC build for my son over Christmas. Other than the bright and colourful box it had absolutely no benefit over the K series.

    • 'collaboration' thing. Think it comes with the avengers game.

      • +5

I thought it would come with the game, but on the box it says "game not included"

The cores are made of Vibranium

If you have any trouble with your PC, there is a special number you can call and the hulk will pop over to fix it.

      • +6

Not a fan of the "Hulk smash" method of fixing things. :p

        • +3

Depends on the situation. I know a few people situations that could be fixed that way.

Yeah get Thor over with his hammer

So it provides a stark contrast to othor products out there. Allocations for this product are capped in America.

        Marvelous comment

    • I was about to say exactly this. I ignored the box art for about the first 20 deals, but I think it's time we addressed the random box art on a totally unrelated computer processor.

Maybe the thumbnail was more prominent this time which is why it has come to the forefront.

was $335 ~ $339 in the last eBay Afterpay sale. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/630155

Got it for $335 a month ago

Can avenger edition CPU power the rig with built-in Mjolnir?

  • +6

Still too expensive an outdated product that wasn’t all that great when new. Requires plenty cooling and a power supply to match. Need to come down to less than $350 to make it competitive against the similarly fast 5600X.

    • +1

Better comparison would be the 5700G when it's available. Same thread count with onboard graphics.

In it's own right 5600x is a better CPU, but the supplied cooler isn't great, and there's the whole discrete graphics issue with is unnecessary for some.

OP did say he was building an office PC, for which this would be ideal.

Onboard graphics, underrated in today's GPU market.

    • +4

Benchmarks I have seen show it performing just behind the 11700k. They're all about the same for gaming, GPU is king.

    • That 5600x is actually showing up as $380 for me with the ebay plus 5% discount.

      • +1

        even better!

        • +1

It’s definitely got me tempted! Combined with the $150 Asus TUF B550, it’s like $530.

  • I got the 10900k for 450 a while back so I would wait

  • +2

This is a everyday price. No deal

  • capeshit

Intel should just cut their losses and embrace the "great on a budget" role. The irony would be enough to build a skyscraper out of, but it's better than not selling in decent numbers, right?

Will this be a straight swap for my 486 sx 33?

Think it's time for an upgrade but don't want to upgrade the motherboard.

    • +2

      better get a DX

It will be a great rig for running MS-DOS 5.0. GORILLA.BAS will probably be unplayable though.

      • oh good old GORILLA, used to play that in QBasic lol
Recently I was trying to play some games in FreeDOS, but my GTX 1060 was not happy. Back to the DOSBOX-X

    • Might need a bios upgrade

  • Hey guys, I've seen reviews but it looks like this isn't too bad for gaming.

Would you recommend 10700k and 3060 ti combo?
