  • Anything special about it if you already have a lid that fits on top?

  • No. I have plenty of lids that already fit…

  • You can just use the normal lid when you slow cook? With the vent open?

    • Yeh you probably can. It’s for the people that don’t have a lid that fits :D like me! (Never thought I’d be buying a lid in my life 😅)

      • A lot of pan you buy don't come with lid.

      A brand of pressure cooker.

    • Hmmm, took me 5 seconds on a google search

  • i never even thought about using a lid like this and just found several in my cupboard that fit. nice, better than cracking out the big pressure lid for slow cooking

  • any recs for a pot?

    • I have had the Crockpot Express XL for two weeks now and really like it. Replaces slowcooker, pressure cooker, steamer, rice cooker etc. My old slowcooker didn't saute so this is so much better being able to do all in one. I got it at Big W on special for $159 and it come with the glass lid.

  • These are great for use as shields when eating Korean bbq at home and the belly pork fat is spitting everywhere whilst you’re trying to eat #instantShield

      • These are annoying difficult to clean, and you can't see how the food is cooking without checking all the time.

My use-case is different - I hold mine up like Captain America with one hand and eat with the other. I can still see what's cooking through the glass whilst happily eating.

I put mine in the dishwasher

and you can't see how the food is cooking without checking all the time.

You can look through the mesh to see the food.

You may already have a lid that fits - I use a lid that came with an ikea pot and is the exactly same size.

It doesn't have to be Instant Pot-branded, you can buy any lid that matches (see the diameters provided by @nightfever above) and isn't $17 apiece…

  • Any other accessories worth getting with instant pot ,bought 8l duo Nova at the last amazon sale
