  • I need a night light the little one, do you guys recommend this?

    • +6

Absolutely. You have brightness control which is perfect to use as a nightlight.
IMO this is the goto smart light if you don't want to shell out heaps for Philips Hue

      • we got this one few months ago is fantastic

        • Thank you! Currently out of stock though, house much do they go for?

    • +1

https://www.target.com.au/p/laser-5w-e14-smart-bulb/64188980 - the Laser 5W E14 Smart Bulb for $15 (currently $13.50) could be an option for you. Can also buy them on Amazon and Catch (sold by Target). Easy to set up and comes in a small or large fitting (I've found the small fittings rare to come by at this price, good for smaller lamps). RGB isn't very bright, but suitable as a night light.

    • As a night light, I personally find it too bright even at the lowest brightness. Other options are to change the colour to red or blue at the lowest setting, which is slightly less brighter than white/warmer colour. Having a dedicated night light is a better option in my opinion.

  • Thanks op

  • I have the original Yeelight Color Bulb and find it isn't that bright, is this much improved. Specs say it is 100 lumens brighter(800v900), is that a noticeable difference?

    • +1

800 vs 900 lumens wouldnt really be noticeable to the eye

      • +14

        What about to the ear?

        • +1

If you stick it in .. yes

    • I also have the original ones and while I find them bright enough I never liked the RGB colours. They are always a bit off and not even over the surface of the globe. Price is good though.

Any deal on the Monitor light bar?

    • Looking for same

    • Same here

    • Same looking for pro light bar

  • +6

I have 30 of these and they all have the well known ‘lost network connection’ issue.

    • No wonder heavily discounted

    • +1

Oh I thought that was just me… Is there a fix now?

      • +2

There isn’t. One of the threads from 2018 with no permanent fix https://forum.yeelight.com/t/topic/7927

I tried with Xiaomi (connecting to Xiaomi hub) and standalone (Yeelight App - WiFi connection), with same results.

Tried many things that first three pages of internet search said about this problem (different router, 2.4ghz only, mesh router, different phone, connecting to Home Assistant, Homekit,) with no luck.

I read that it is apparently a firmware issue that Yeelight couldn’t still fix.

        • Hue the way to go even though they're hella expensive?

          • @KLoNe: Hue stuff comes on special fairly regularly, there's no need to pay the insane full price. I think I've picked up all my colour bulbs at about an average price of under $30.

People rag on Hue about the price - and rightly so - but I have to say, it has been rock solid. A lot of the alternatives seem to have regular issues.

          • @KLoNe: Yes, just waiting to see a good deal on their sensors and lights. I heavily invested in the Xiaomi/yeeloght eco system (30 lights, 10 switches, 20 sensors, 4 hubs including 2 aqara hubs, and other bits and pieces). All in the last year or two. So taking my time to take a deep breath and let the investment go in vain.

    • oh same, i though that was just my wifi

  • +1

Are these the ones that the RGB dim function doesn't work correctly?

  • Had 16 of these and all 16 died within 2 years.

Also about half had annoyingly loud coil whine.

    • +1

      Wow that is a joke.

      • I know right. Real letdown imo, but some people seem to have got good ones here too. To me it seems like it must be a bit hit and miss

    • I mean the website did say 3years warranty.
I got the 3x10W 800 Lumens back in may 2018 and they all still working.
      Guess you just unlucky.

  • Hi rep, any discount for pendant light?

  • Are these much better than the Kogan smarterhome bulbs? Can get a 4 pack of those for $29..

    • link?

    • +1

I've had both and I honestly I think I prefer the Kogan ones. The tuya app works well and you can hook them up with Genio bulbs when they are half price at Coles/Woolworths and other Tuya products seamlessly.

    • The Kogan app keeps loosing my smart home bulbs, both SES and GU10 ones

    • 10W and 400lm only is there something wrong?

      • +1

        Only the GU10 are 400lm, but 5W.
        The 10W are 800lm

  • Anyone shipping to Sydney 2000? I just need one bulb

  • C

  • I think you can longer change color using Google assist. Last time checked was jan 2021

    • I have various Yeelights (1, 1s & 2) and they all still work with google home.

      • They work, but I just couldn't change the colors via Google assist. I hand bulbs and light strip.

        • Mine are still changing colours. Just tested them then.

          • @witheredcouch: Thanks for reply, may i know if you are using server as main land China or Singapore? I'm using main land china and i fail to chnage color using google assist

            • @hopper: From memory when I set up my account years ago I chose singapore? Has been a long time since i created the account though.

  • Hey does anyone get this with their yeelight? Ask it to turn to colour to lavender, increase to 100% brightness then try decreasing to say 50% the colour will change, if not 40% It's weird because it is supposed to just dim.

  • Any deal on downlight?

  • Yeelight Smart LED Bulb W3 this one does not work with HomeKit, right?

  • Damn, missed this one.
Any more stock of the W3 coming before the sale is over?
