24x 500ml Cans are also a great price at $48.99 Delivered. Only for NSW and VIC it seems though.

    • +2

Yup, not posting to SA :(

    • Which is of worse value, but bigger beers!

      • +4

Slightly worse value $ wise, but I much prefer the Japan brewed cans :)

      • +1

Much better beer. The cans are good, bottles are very average IMO.

  • +8

I hate that I can't get these delivered to QLD

    • +1

      same :(

      • +2

IKR….and no booze in aldi, so behind, yet so ahead covid wise..potato's potAto's…

  • +1

Was just about to post the cans. Amazing deal, cheapest they've been in recent times.

  • +1

Given it's being sold by CUB, the bottles will be made in Australia. The cans are likely to be made in Japan though

    • +7

Cans are definitely made in Japan.

      • -1

Yep I assume CUB imports them and brews the bottles locally. You can never be surethough, one day they will slip some Aus or China cans into the market.

        • +6

they dont license brewers for cans, only bottles
          cans only used by Japan

          • @sharkyoz: Oh right, didn't know the cans came under a separate license. Thanks for the info.

        • +4

This may possibly change in future considering CUB is owned wholly by Asahi now. Production may shift here, I know first hand CUB handle all Asahi and licensed beer products in QLD now whilst Asahi Australia still handle some of their other products, licensing and Schweppes.

    • +4

Cans are made in Japan and at that price are too good to resist

  • +1

That's amazing pricing for the cans! WTF.

    Never ever drinking the bottles.

  • +1

Cracking deal but excludes a lot of places it ships too

  • so which is better? The cans or the bottles? Do they taste better made in Japan?

    • +4

500 ml cans are far better tasting

    • +4

      Cans without a doubt

    • +4

      Get the cans.

The bottles are dogp*ss. Not even the same beer.

    • Yes .. the cans are amazing … the japanese water really makes a difference .. half-joking .. but whenever anything is made in japan, then it is always better.

  • +1

Buggah. Need beer. Won't post to me. Buggah.

  • Awesome price, just grabbed one, thanks op

  • +1

Thanks OP. Picked up pure blonde 375 ml cans for 35.99 delivered.

  • +5

18x 334ml Super Dry Black for $46 for those that like the Black version like me :)

    • +1

Can endorse this wholeheartedly. The Asahi Black is excellent. Just finished mine on the weekend… might need to make a run to the luckily-essential-so-still-open bottle shop soon! :D

  • +1

only beer I drink (the cans), great price, grabbed one :)

  • -1

    Those exclusions are bs.

  • +1

Cracking deal , thanks OP !

    • +6

      I posted this deal but I don't drink 😅

      Only know Asahi is good.

      • +1

You're doing gods work mate , keep it up ! 😃

      • Funny .. if you tried the Asahi cans, then you would start drinking.

  • Got one, thanks OP!

  • Beer noob - how long do the cans normally last before expiring? Is it in the range of months or years?

    • Months I'm sure. I've got a different brand that has best before 30/09 , bought 3 months ago.

  • +1

Why no delivery to QLD? I don't think liquor licensing laws apply to deliveries.

    • They don't. I've had booze delivered in QLD before from sites like catch. So not sure why they wont on this site.

  • Cheers OP! Got a slab

  • -6

Not a fan of the cans the bottles are much better :)
Yeap most people in the thread have no taste buds .

  • Got the cans excellent deal

  • +1

Thanks OP, picked up a box of the cans!

  • Another month subscription to Plus just for this. Thanks OP.

  • Thanks OP. Got a case in cans and a case of black as well. Not sure if this will last the lockdown though.

  • bummer did not realise the code is one use only ! already used it on the gin !

    • New to eBay Tues $20 deal?

  • -1

Let the figure talk Boys 284 bottles sold and 229 cans sold in the last hr .

    • The OP is linked directly to the bottles so it's not a fair fight.

Edit: Now the cans are sold out. Cans win by TKO.

    • I wonder how many of those people ordering the bottles actually know what they're getting, or what they're missing out on…

  • ridiculous they don't post to SA

  • Just missed out on the cans :(

  • Dang~ missed out on cans while checking out literally clicking"Confirm and Pay"!

  • Cans OOS :(

  • Both oos

  • ASAHI bottle OOS

  • Tokyo TED'S!

  • The bottles used to be brewed in China (said so on the bottle) has that changed recently? I know their low calorie beer Soukai was brewed locally under license.

  • I had a bottle once in a Chinese restaurant in BNE that was brewed in Ireland!

  • +3

Bottles taste awful and are made in China - avoid at all costs.

  • +1

    stock back.

    • +1

      Gone again

      • stock back for bottles still no cans. just bought a case. but seems OOS again.

  • Bah. My internet crashed and now they're out of stock.

  • I just used it to get a case of Budweiser for $35. Bargain.

    • feels like not bad price

  • Was it brewed in China, right?

    • +1

Bottles - probably. Cans - no, brewed in Japan.

    • I used to see bottles brewed in Thailand, then the last couple of years they seem to be from China. Neither was a patch on the Japanese one which you get in the cans. Buy the cans.

The Asahi Black bottles are also from Japan and are very good, too.

  • Seeming there is so many Experts on this thread . Is there love for Fosters 24 X 375ml cans @ $33.49 ?

  • Fk forgot about the deal and now it's expired

  • Thanks, OP!

  • Why is it that even though it's an eBay plus deal, CUB never send the beer via express post?

  • +1

I ordered the bottles just before 11:03 and they've cancelled the order. Ebay provided a $20 I can use on anything. Somehow they've put the listing back up and seems like they never ran out.

    • Order it again

      • The comments above put me off getting the bottles. Will wait for the cans or something else.

  • Thanks OP. Purchased yesterday and this morning already on the way to me. 🤟

    • Same… But it really should be next day delivery as part of eBay plus.

Mine is coming from Perth to Melbourne though…

      • Same here, Perth to Sydney. Gonna be a long wait.. and yes, it should be express as per eBay Plus membership.

  • My box arrived today, thanks OP.
I bought the bottles. I saw some comments saying that it was brewed in China, but in my bottle that I'm drinking right now it says "brewed and made in Australia under supervision of Asahi Breweries LTD".
I didn't buy the Cans to compare but I'm definitely buying in the future because I'm curious of what would be the difference.

  • Got a cancellation email for the cans due to no stock :(

  • My can's still haven't shipped - bought 10.47am

  • Anyone in Melbourne get their beer yet? Mine still is stuck in Perth

  • Can's still not shipped. eBay Plus such a joke

    • Yep same here - getting thirtsy!

  • +1

    My bottles arrived yesterday.

Need to wait 7 days before you can leave negative feedback.

Annoyed that cub never ship via express post like they are meant to.

  • Cans finally shipped

This was their response. Tbh they were nice about it so I'll still leave +ve feedback. eBay Plus still sucks though.

    Hi,

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

We have had an overwhelming response to the eBay promotion this week and due to the unprecedented number of orders we have been working around the clock to get your beer to you as soon as we possibly can. Unfortunately some orders are running behind schedule, and for this we are extremely apologetic.

Your order is currently being processed and you should receive your tracking number from Australia Post very shortly.

    We appreciate your understanding.

    Regards,
    CUB

    • +1

That's fair enough but they should be sending by express post as per eBay Plus

      • i jumped on to ebay plus chat and they are issuing me with a $10 voucher for late shipping/delivery/non-express.
They are also reporting the seller.

        • eBay wouldn't give me any voucher but said seller gets $4 from ebay for the express service. Mine was sent parcel - so I've asked the seller for a $4 refund. Let's see what happens

          • @cyrax83: Actually try again.

The argument is that it's late delivery. eBay plus issue vouchers for late delivery. Standard practice

    • Nice would be actually sending it via the express post they get paid by eBay plus to send it by.

      They deserve a neg.

CUB is a huge for-profit organisation and surely a bunch of sales via eBay shouldn't be an excuse for poor service.

I get annoyed by the amount of eBay plus sellers who take the extra $4+ dollars they get from eBay plus and don't upgrade post to express. They are pocketing our membership benefits which we pay for.

  • Got my cans finally, they are BB 20 October. Hope they have not been stored in a hot warehouse too long..

    • Wow that's short dated. Will taste terrible.

Shelf life is normally 12 months
