30% off Qantas Classic Rewards for Flights to Mount Gambier, Kangaroo Island, Gold Coast and Townsville

90

30 % off Classic flight rewards to above destinations.
T and C from email:
Classic Flight Rewards are subject to capacity controls, availability is limited, and some flights may not have any Classic Flight Rewards available. The Qantas Points required will be displayed during the booking process on qantas.com or Qantas Direct (fees may apply). Qantas Points and Status Credits may not be earned on Classic Flight Rewards.

The 30% discount on points will be automatically applied to the Qantas Points required for Eligible Classic Flight Rewards booked between 10:00am (AEST) 28 July 2021 and 11.59pm (AEST) 4 August 2021 for travel between 28 July 2021 and 16 July 2022.

To receive the 30% discount on points, all flights in your Trip must be eligible Classic Flight Rewards booked in the same cabin. If you make any changes to the date and time of your Classic Flight Rewards booking, in order to be eligible to retain the 30% discount, any flight in your updated booking must be within the specified travel dates of this promotion.

Eligible Classic Flight Rewards are Qantas operated Economy Classic Flight Rewards with a ‘QF’ flight number inclusive of our Australian domestic network to Mount Gambier, Kangaroo Island, Gold Coast and Townsville.

If a Trip includes a Transfer (domestic - same day) or a Transfer (international - a flight within 24 hours) on other partner airlines, that trip is not eligible for this offer.

If your Trip includes multiple flight segments, the 30% discount on points will only be applied when your whole Trip is in the same cabin. For example, a Trip from Perth to Gold Coast via Melbourne will be eligible for the discount if all flight segments are Economy Classic Flight Rewards.

If your Trip includes multiple cabins, e.g. Perth to Melbourne in Economy and Melbourne to Gold Coast in Business, the discount will not apply to your booking.

The discount applies to the Qantas Points amount required only and does not apply to the taxes, fees and carrier charges payable to Qantas (excluding any amounts payable to third parties at the airport) which are payable in addition to the Qantas Points required. Taxes, fees and carrier charges are per adult in AUD unless otherwise stated rounded up to the nearest dollar and, based on payment at qantas.com by POLi. This offer is only available for bookings made on the Qantas website or via Qantas Contact Centres (fees may apply).

  • Has anyone found any of this? I tried to find some to Townsville and can't find any discounted reward flights.

    • +1

Yes I'm not seeing any discount either.

    • Are you looking at only direct flights? The T and C say no domestic transfers.

      • Can't find any below the usual rate. Direct or otherwise.

        • I haven't looked, but do you have to continue the purchase process to get the discount on the total??

          • +1

@bigspike: No, the points discount is already included (where eligible) in the flight search results.

For example, flights like Sydney to Gold Coast that would normally cost 8,000 points as an Economy Classic Reward only cost 5,600 discounted. Melbourne to Gold Coast would cost 8,400 discounted instead of 12,000.

I'm seeing plenty of availability for Gold Coast.

Those destinations are like the clearance section of Woolies :)

    • I didn't think Gold Coast was that bad and also Kangaroo Island was good as well.

    • Well, Mount Gambier, Gold Coast and Kangaroo Island are decent IMO.

  • The points required would reflect the discount at the search screen, so unless you are aware of what it normally costs, the discount won’t be apparent to you. I did a random search during the next school holidays and there are plenty of availability, however, my frequent flyer status (I know, strange thing to have these days) might have made a difference.

    • frequent flyer status (I know, strange thing to have these days)

Status was freely extended under many programs including Qantas. It will be interesting to see whether they extend again given the border situation - if not, there will be a lot of tears.

      might have made a difference.

It may do according to Qantas but they don't say definitively:-

Preferential access will be provided, when available, to selected Qantas Classic Flight Reward seats for Silver, Gold and Platinum members. On selected flights, preferential access provided to Gold and Platinum members may be above the access available to Silver and Bronze members. When seats are available, preferential access is provided at qantas.com and from Qantas Contact Centres and Qantas offices, excluding some international locations (Reward Assistance Fee applies to assisted bookings).
