  • Nice, a little be cheaper than the eBay plus offer. Only thing that has prevented me to pull the trigger so far is how many Android upgrade will it get? Will it get 12? 13? How's Oppo with upgrade?

    • Released on Android 10, so likely will get 2 major system updates (to 12). Wouldn't imagine it getting 13.

Right now as far as I'm aware (I may be wrong) OnePlus and Samsung are the only Android manufacturers offering 3 years of major updates and 4 years of security patches?

      • +2

        Nokia have also joined in.

      • +1

Google pixel too, although they should definitely be offering longer support seeing as it's their own OS.

Also, I wouldn't trust OnePlus with updates, they'll provide 3 years but you'll probably be waiting 6 years for that to happen

    • +1

Bought it from JB hifi last deal. Its the Telstra version and running colour os 11, which is based on Android 11. The updates was released on 23/02/2021. I’m very happy with it.

  • +2

One of the best phones ever made

    • -4

      which phones that

      • +2

Obviously the one advertised Oppo find X2 PRO

    • Agreed. Especially at this price.

      • +1

i almost bought this phone at release and it was very expensive, this is a good price

    • +4

      Really? I hate mine.

ANDROID CAR AUDIO DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY WITH THIS PHONE

Can't launch camera with double tap.
USB C Port is very touchy
Grammar in some areas is very Engrish.
      Curved screen? Why…

The price is good, but I will never, ever buy an Oppo again.

      • +1

I owned a bit of an older Oppo and that was my experience as well. Never again.

      • +1

        Small negatives/problems you described.
At this price it's an absolute steal on specifications.

        • My Reno 5G Bluetooth audio drops off sometimes, super annoying when you're in a call. Small issues, but these issues become big when you're driving or on an important call.

So while I like the phone I'll probably not gonna get another 1 until other Oppo users say these issues are not happening anymore.

        • Android auto is a deal breaker for me.
I did think it was fixed with an update though?

          • @whitelie: I've not used android auto but it is definitely on my phone

      • I had this problem with my X2 and found this to be a problem with the car not the phone. Went to car dealer, had them do a firmware update and now AA works perfectly.

      • Join the FB oppo group. I bought it this week and AA works fine.

      • I don't think any mobile is 100% perfect.

I have a Pixel 4, which received good reviews when it was released but I cannot wait for anohter good deal so that I can buy a Samsung instead :-).

Always something that is not 100%.

Battery life on my pixel is baaaad.

        Camera is amazing.

If something makes you happy then it does not matter if it makes sense to other people ha ha ha…

  • Just wondering how the updates are going to be done? Through Optus like the Telstra ones or Android?

    • +1

      OTA download

Checked xda for Roms for this phone, nothing shows up. Anyone know if there's a Lineage, Arrow OS, Pixel Experience for this phone?

    • No custom rom for this phone available as the boatloader can't be unlocked! Oppo's rom is not bad especially with Android 11. It's very customisable and can look close to stock with Google like Settings menu and icons. You can also use Google native apps as your default (i.e. phone, messages, and etc.). A great phone indeed. Love mine.Super fast!

      • I love the night mode and how it can apply to all aspects of the phone

  • thanks OP. just bought one.

  • Would buy it if it was the vegan leather one but it’s the black glossy one so I won’t…

  • +1

Absolute bargain. Bought one, thanks OP!

    I have a oppo reno 2z
I used to like it until the battery started crapping out after 14 months and before the 7 update it was so laggy, camera still lags, then I dropped it 2 days ago and the screen cracked and went dark rendering the phone unusable? Every other phone I’ve cracked the screen on was still operable. I dusted off my old 6s iPhone and was surprised at how much better the gsm signal is, I can now make and receive phone call in the farm shed. Will never buy a oppo again and spewing that I need to buy a screen to retrieve all my photos and data!

    • +3

Just connect to any computer with a USB cable should be able to open the phone via USB

      • Doesn’t work hear the boink sound but no disk shows up, in devices it is defined as a speaker after 1 second as displaying as a disk first, win 10 CPH1951

        • Do you have a USB 3 slot? You may not have the developer options enabled for USB try other USB slots

          • @Jjj888: That’s the thing with a blacked out screen not much I can do? I ordered the cheapest tft screen to get my data off and will move back to iPhone, the backup process is just so much better in iOS.

            • @Jenbrook: Yes but usually it's simple to connect with USB to PC

    • That's what you get for buying the Yumcha pleb Coles model

    • Oppo Reno z user. Battery still strong after two years. Slight lag loading camera occasionally with gcam. $2 screen protector would have prevented the break.

  • RT-AX88U comes down to $386.10
    NOT BHED, GOOD SYZE.

    • +1

      Bought the TP-Link AX5400 Dual-Band Gigabit Wi-Fi 6 Router during prime with wifi 6. Only paid $210

So much better coverage compared to non wifi6.

Used a wifi extender before but no need with this one.

  • Nice. $42.90 less than the JB HIFI deal just over a week ago.

  • +1

single sim kills the deal for me

    • Same.
Dual Sim, ability to be rooted and green vegan and would have been an instabuy

      • whats green vegan

  • C

  • +2

Mine is still not shipped. Showing as processing.. has anyone got theirs shipped?

    • Also not shipped yet, ordered at 8pm

    • Same as you… FAQ state 1-2 days to process, so maybe we see an update tomorrow?

    • Looking back on previous ozbargain posts on Wireless1 and online reviews they seem to have bad feedback regarding delivery times and false information re: stock levels, lets hope its not the case here as well…

    • +1

Still no sign of shipping. Contacted OP and waiting for a response.

      • +2

        Neither. Keep us updated.

    • Both of mine just shipped

    • I got a tracking number now, but auspost tracking has no idea about it. May be will take time.

  • +1

    Same here.

  • Just happened to meet a bloke that had the exact same phone bought from a Telstra shop. We were both running the most up to date Android 11 and on Optus. Standing beside each other he got 3 bars 4G reception. I had none! Makes me very suspicious of the phone. Is it a non Australian market version?

    • I bought mine through Kogan and I'm in the country not the city and still getting 3 or 4 bars on Optus 4G

      • Yes, it's not everywhere. At my house its fine (country Tas), but I just found supposedly identical phones in the same spot had very different results. There had to be some difference.

        • Could be you need to turn on roaming or check all your apn settings etc

          • @Jjj888: Roaming on and default APN (I didn't think to check those in the other phone).

            • @wfdTamar: Is yours CPH2025AU_11_C.62

              • @Jjj888: I see CPH2500 in About phone - Model. Where do you find the rest?

                • @wfdTamar: CPH 2025 click on version/baseband

                  • @Jjj888: ok, Yes same.
                    baseband Q_V1_P14
                    KERNEL 4.19.110 PERF+
                    hardware - CPH2025_11

                    • @wfdTamar: Yes have you also done speedtest

                      • @Jjj888: Get about 26mbps at home on Optus 4G. A bit better than when on the home wifi which connects via Telstra 4G.

                        • @wfdTamar: Three tests I get between 75-90mbps download

                          • @Jjj888: Doesn't mean a lot as it'll vary depending on location. There's no Optus 5G in Tassie yet (none shown on their maps anyway).

                            • @wfdTamar: That's 4G and 200kms from CBD

                              • @Jjj888: Yes, but it depends how close to the tower you are, its capacity and the traffic on it. Its not a good way to measure the phone.

                                • @wfdTamar: Okay well I think it's pretty good for a mobile connection

                                  • @Jjj888: Yes it is. I’d be happy to get that on nbn (only ever got about 57 on a 100 connection on FTTN).
