      You're right. I have a lot of watches and this is one of my favorites. Casios have idiosyncrasies. They're incredibly well made, awesome bang for buck, but just make some weird decisions. So, to qualify your statement, the light on this one is for the digital display. The other weird thing for this is the seconds counter in the digital display. Like I said, it is one of my favorites. I think I even like casio for their weird choices.

    Being a prepper, I wouldn't mind an inexpensive Japanese solar powered quartz to coordinate my collection of mechanicals after the mushroom cloud/zombie outbreak/pandemic/asteroid strike.

    However, wifey said "It's ******* horrible. Don't you dare."
