Harman Kardon Citation One MK2 2-Speaker Bundle - 70,000 Pts (Was 182,000) @ Telstra

1100

This is not really something I want for myself, but maybe someone else would be interested. Seems like a good discount as these speakers are currently selling for $295 each at Harvey Norman. Getting two of these for 70,000 points is quite good if this is something you’re after. You can also get it for $192 + 2500 points

How do these compare to Sonos One?

  • anyone else can't get pass "Configuring HK Citation One" —> "There was a problem setting up HK Citation One" ?
Both of these arent working. Have done everything including:
    - Reset speakers
    - Restart modems
    - Confirmed UPnP enabled
    - Deleted home and readded
    - Contact HK for support and lodged ticket, supposedly others reporting same error but no resolution
    - Tried 2.4ghz band and 5ghz and then disabled one to try to the other as well

Probably just going to return and refund at this point.

Have you tried uninstalling the Google Home app and re-installing it from the Play Store?
Sort of last resort but that should clear any cache or data issues in the app that may be causing issues.

Also, you said you restarted modems. Does that mean you have more than one wifi router, such as a mesh network?
I find that the Google Home app doesn't seem to like devices connected to a different wifi router than what the phone is connected to.
So you can try setting up the speaker as close as possible to one wifi router and make sure your phone is also close so they both connect to the same wifi router during setup.

Another thing to check is whether you have any special characters in your wifi key? If you do, try removing them and just use upper case, lower case and numerics and see if that works.

      • Thanks for the reply mate!

Yep have uninstalled google home app and reinstalled as fresh
Have tried installing google home on a different phone as well and testing - no luck
        Restarted modem* apologies typo.
Made sure that both phone + speakers on the same wifi network
Brought the speaker closer to the router too!

Was legit at it for 5 hours all day before giving up haha - really appreciate your tips and input.

Auto Disconnecting Speaker from Device around 10 minute mark issue.

Hey everyone, I got myself a pair of these from Telstra earlier this month via redemption and love the sound and everything. But noticed when trying to watch any movie using these around the 10min mark they disconnect, I’ve been testing and on tech support for the last few weeks and got the issues resolved.

Apparently your device should be on the latest cast firmware 1.44 but mine was on 1.40. When I tried to contact the customer support on their webpage they were telling me to reboot, uninstall, install to force push the update but didn’t work.

Long story short, the customer support ended up providing me with Tech Support who forced pushed the update to me within 1 day (today it got installed), ran a few quick test and music was still playing after 15min.

But here is the link if your having similar issues:

    • Further information,

These devices aren't auto enrolled for updates (what the actual hell Harman/Kardon).

You have to manually ask them to do it to get an update, its so stupid.

Newest firmware is 2699 and case firmware being 1.44

Theres a couple of reddit posts (and mine and yours) experience of this confirming that you have to reach out to the to enrolled for updates.

  • Thanks OP. Don't run Google Home ordinarily but this is (essentially) free - I have no idea what else I'd use the points on - and I need a couple of speakers for lesser used areas so I'll give it a crack.

and it arrived in less than 24 hours!

  • If I don't have wifi, does bluetooth work across both of them at the same time or not possible?

  • Anyone can help?
One speaker is connected and the other one having the "could not communicate with " error message.
Tried android, apple, 2.4g, 5g and different wifi connection/hotspot, still not able to connect
