    What's the expiry date ?

  • +9

If this was something I could purchase in store at Australia Post & save the postage fee, I would probably give it a go.

    • +2

Or just buy 4 packs to get free shipping … like i did 🥲

  • +5

Don't really like the Allsorts and the black licorice, with postage this is standard price at Coles or Woolies

    • +2

About 1/3 of it is fit for the reject shop .
      Hence no bargain here .

      • I was going to add (before seeing this comment), that the Tesco Licorice at the Reject Shop is particularly good, and $2 a pack. (Avoid the Capricorn branded one in the blue bag though).

  • +1

    thanks OP, what a steal!

  • +1

    is it worth it?

    • Well sometimes the bags of Liquorice is on sale at Wool / Coles for a good deal around 2.75 - 3:50.

    • Yes

  • +1

Not gonna lie, liquorice tastes so darn bad. I just don’t get it.

    • +2

      Username checks out.

    • +7

You don't get different people like different things?

      • +9

Its fruitless to point that out …

      • -2

To each their own. I’m just saying I personally don’t get how it tastes so bad.

        • +2

i don't get why you like cats.

    • +6

don't worry your tastes will mature as you do.

      • +2

That’s what my mum thought about coriander. I still cannot eat it to this day.

        • Soap? Yeah it’s genetic.

    • I like liquorice but hate how it sticks to my teeth

    • +3

If you think you don’t like liquorice, wait till you try Dutch liquorice….

      • +1

        Don’t get salty with me…

    • +1

You just haven't tried the right licorice yet!

(Yes, definitely try the Dutch salted licorice coming up at Aldi in the next week or so).

      • Triple salted?

        • +2

This is why i don't like salted caramel, why salt a sugar treat?

          • +1

@dbmitch: Because it’s delicious (Dutchy here, don’t insult our liquorice ;))

            • +1

              @Kimdv1234: don't worry, I hate all liquorice equally C:

      • Dutch licorice….Devine brought up on it. Can’t wait for it

Needless to say i went to town

This avoids having to go to town. It will be delivered to you.

    I miss Darrell Lea stores.

    • +4

      Me too. So fancy.

  • +1

Thanks OP, hope gets honoured, excellent price for licorice lovers! I added 10x 10c stamps to make the minimum after $29.85.
To match my leftover collection of $1.00 stamps that I may eventually use…

  • Was trying to find what to get the old boy, this should get me in the good books!

  • Got 3 cheers!

  • +4

The Raspberry Twists are SO good.

    • Wow, Ethan. Great moves. Keep it up. Proud of you. Gonna get this man's recommendation

They've really gone steeply downhill ever since they went bust and were bought out all those years ago. Bought the chocolate block a couple of months ago, couldn't finish it - it tasted like that cheap Chinese chocolate you get at Easter.

Also liquorice tastes odd. Much prefer the Aldi stuff, or Woolworths home brand.

  • +1

Cheers, got two and a 10x stamp book to make delivery free

  • These are $2.20 per pack at Big W, and Big W have a larger range.

  • Is this really a deal? Cheaper at Woolies/Coles all the time.

    • +4

      To answer your question:

      Darrell Lea Batch 37 Liquorice 260g $2.20
Darrell Lea Milk Chocolate Block 170g $2.50
Darrell Lea Liquorice Allsorts 270g $2.20
Darrell Lea Bigger Better Milk Chocolate Orange Balls - 185g $2.20
      Lifesavers Fruit Tingles 34g $1.10
Darrell Lea Raspberry Twists 280g $2.20

Purchase from Australia Post inc compulsory $5 freight = $14.95
Purchase from Big W in store = $12.40 (Note: this includes current 1/2 price special on Darrel Lea but not Lifesavers stock).

Also Big W purchasers miss out of 10grams of Milk Chocolate block as it appears the block has been reduced from 180g (or as manufacturers usually put it "for our benefit so we consume healthier portion sizes").

Summary: Ozbargainers are going soft - putting a not so special offer to the front page of Ozbargain. Many a retailer has been crucified for less. Remember guys, think with your wallets and not your stomachs.

Exception: Perhaps those under quarantine could be excused for purchasing the Aus Post deal.

Does anyone remember the Fruit Tingles jingle?

      • Thanks for finding the prices but check your maths -
The lollies alone (even at the half price big W special of $2.20) are combined worth $12.40 miminum price! That's 20% off the minimim half-price instore!!

Yes technically $17.40 delivered but if you are in lockdown, everyone needs more sweets.

So 3x packs gives you STILL 20% off instore prices, plus buying $1 worth of money (stamps) gives you free postage, (or at the worst) essentially paying postage for $1, taking the total down to 17.1% off the best price you'll find anywhere, DELIVERED!!

        (1-(30.85/37.20)).

Ozbargainers going soft, yes, because of good quality batch 37 soft licorice 😀

OK, i have finished justifying my purchase haha :)

        • It's only $1.00 extra at Big W if you exclude the roll of Lifesavers, which I think for a lot of us the appeal is the Darrell Lea stuff not the Lifesavers. $1 extra to be able to choose from a wider range of Darrell Lea sweets is a better deal imo.

  • Went to grab these while pricking up a parcel. Only available online 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
