Citizen. The Mall watch. Remember Malls? I'm old.

    • +1

      Malls? Was that before COVID-19?

  • Some good deals!

    • +6

      Yeah but I have only 2 arms…

      • +2

yeah but how long are the arms i remember the 70s as a kid and when overseas street vendors would come up to my parents with 6 watches on their arm trying to sell them one.

  • if only the grey one with green strap is available. AW5005-39H

    AMAZING Price on Lunar Pilot.

Got mine today from Amazon, really happy with quality, gutted about this deal but you will not be disappointed.

    • +1

Got the Lunar Pilot last time here on special for the same price.
Excellent watch! I am a big guy, so the size is perfect for me.

      • It is a big piece, I am 6ft but I do love bigger watches, I like it sitting outside the cuff a little

  • No offense but starbuys offers deal every week. What's so special about these watches? Genuine question.

    • +8

      They’re on special this week.

    • +1

Starbuy does a new deal every weekday!

@cent88: you asked a very valid question: unfortunately for honest and reputable businesses the scammers try to mimic bona fide sale actions.
Interestingly enough, long time ago I managed to ask exactly your question (but in a very diplomatic language :) ) from the principal owner of the StarBuys Mr D. Btw, a very nice and pleasant in communication person, at least in all my face-to-face contacts. And he laid it out exactly as it is (or as it was. at least).
To begin with, StayBuys is an official AD (authorised dealer, huge uptick for safety of your purchases), and from I understood, not just for Citizen but also for all other watch brands they retail (though you might double-check about Swiss brands, a relative new addition to their lineup of brands). FYI, on Citizen watches StarBuys gives the best warranty available anywhere in the world (5 years, from memory).
More importantly, at least with Citizen and other Japanese brands (Seiko, etc), Mr D. deals directly, i.e. no intermediaries. And maybe that's the secret behind why their sales are genuine bona fide "get it or miss it" events. In short, StarBuys gets a lot of the end-of-the-millrun batches. That's why their sales prices are so good, and that's why if you see something you like and the sales price is right, grab it 'cause it ain't gonna be repeated.

I have a Bulova already but isn't $400 a bit too much for a quartz movement?

The watch itself looks amazing though

    • +3

I think it is a bargain seeing in person.

The quality is immaculate, highly accurate movement is excellent. The stop watch measures to 0.05s, feels very solid, two straps, strap changing tool and nice box.
It has immense depth up close, no photos do it justice.

      • agreed, this is my favorite daily watch, has not skipped a beat for 2 years. I'm tempted to buy the black luna pilot too.

    • +6

You may find way more expensive quartz watches. And this one is really special, not 32kHz, but 262kHz, precise to few seconds per year!
Furthermore, you pay for the workmanshp of the body and dials. And it is a real pleasure to look at this watch, but at the same time, it is easy to read.
      Looks more expensive than $400.

      • Well said, the high accuracy alone and smooth chrono did it for me.

Been loving mine for last few days.

    • +5

Just like mechanical there’s quartz then there’s quartz. For example, a miyota workhorse movement vs in house jlc, one gets made in less than an hour the other takes half a year. Look up citizens high frequency quartz movement caliber 0100 or grand seiko 9F.

I think it’s a really valuable question to ask, but you’ll find the true watch geeks also love quartz.

Was so impressed with the CA7040-85L blue chrono from the June deal, wanted to get the black one too for the same price

  • +2

Got the Citizen Eco-Drive Blue Chrono CA7040-85L. Hopefully it fits my tiny wrist.

    • great looking watch i reckon

  • +2

    Some great watches there.

I'm just waiting for some price drops on a few Seiko automatics.

  • Any deals on skeleton watches? Want something with cool-looking mechanical gears.

      • +1

        Perhaps a little TOO cool..

      • +1

Dial diameter: 43mm. Dial thickness: 43 mm. Either a simprint, or too square for me daddyo…

    • +1

      What about this one: https://starbuy.com.au/edifice-classic-esk300gl-1a/

Two notes though, mate. First, it's quartz, it's Edifice (i.e. not Swiss, not mechanical), I don't know if that knocks it off your wish list. Second, at the moment it is out of stock. But.
Looks-wise, the photo doesn't do any justice to the watch. I liked it so much that I had to invent an excuse for myself to justify buying it (I'm already loaded with a few watches, which is a few minus one too many for my previous standards of watch needs). My excuse was: I bought it as a present for a brother.
      And look at the price!
It is OOS at the moment, but in the past it was re-appering as in-stock item among StarBuys sales. I picked it up in one of their first sales of this item. So just keep an eye. Or you can even call StarBuys, ask to speak to, well, Mr D. (I will let him to make decisions about his privacy). He usually gives straight-up answers, he might tell if they'll be getting more of this watch.

Don't know what your price range is, but my own personal foray into skeletons has me looking at Bulova primarily for that balance between quality and pricing. The only problem is I find many skeletons have terrible readability (and I don't want to buy a fashion brand).

All Bulovas, scroll down to a skeleton you like the look of
