Diesel on Full Guard 2.5 (Gunmetal SS) Smartwatch $139 + Delivery (Free Click and Collect) @ JB Hi-Fi

220

It has the same issues as the other older WearOS watches with Qualcomm 2100 - 1 day battery, laggy processor but then, you can't beat the price. At $139 you'd already have quite a nice looking watch to impress your date.

The silicon band model is still selling for $444

Overview

Diesel takes its wearable technology up a notch with the premium Full Guard 2.5. Powered with Wear OS by Google™, the touchscreen smartwatch alerts you of weather changes and real-time smartphone notifications, tracks your heart rate and every move, and lets you control music from your wrist. Unique dial effects add even more personality to this smartwatch with visual enhancements like the appearance of a cracked screen when a private notification is received.

Elevated materials like the colored anodized aluminum also make this touchscreen smartwatch lighter without sacrificing durability. The stainless steel lugs, crown guard and clips have also been sculpted to remove excess weight from the case, while still maintaining a strong structural integrity for ultimate performance.

Thanks op, would’ve got one if there weren’t all these bad reviews on battery life. 👍

    • Its a real shame, i usually don't like diesel watches but this and especially the fadelite deal from the other day have a pretty nice aesthetic, but i know it would end up as ewaste in no time because of the battery.

what a shame, the design looks good

I have one and it gets through a full day with always on display. Even when i was using tracking a ride for 1hr a day.

Sure, longer would be better but it isn't unusable.

What happens if you forget to charge it overnight? Or you stayed over at a friends for the night unexpectedly ? 😅

        • +1

What happens if you forget to charge your phone? Either way sounds like it was probably worth putting up with a flat device :)

Seriously though it goes into power saving at 20% will get you through some of the next day.

  • The watch is crap, but people are buying it for $300 on the Facebook marketplace so…

    • +1

I doubt it. Maybe a few advertised for that price, but unlikely to sell. I picked up an Apple Watch 3 for $130, and a Samsung Galaxy Active 2 for $120. Slight scratches on the screen, but who cares, you don’t notice unless it’s in the sunlight with the screen off. These are serious watches that are not laggy, and 2-3 days battery life, and you can respond to messages with voice dictation (not so much on the Samsung), or ask the watch to send a message. My Apple Watch even understands my Japanese, so I can send messages to Japanese friends with voice dictation.

Sweet deal, I ordered not to miss out and will read some reviews to make sure Ai want it, didn't want to miss out - Don't neg me, this is what it's come to these days with everything going out of stock in minutes.

    • +6

Lmao that’s a terrible decision just buying because you don’t want to miss out on something 😂

“The battery life on the Diesel On Full Guard 2.5 isn’t just bad, it’s tragic. A full charge of the 300mAh cell lasts a working day, but no more if you stretch its ability. Start at 9 a.m. and by 7 p.m., the watch regularly showed around 15% remaining even with minimal use, and without any extended fitness features such as heart rate tracking or GPS. Dare to track a one hour workout with Google Fit and the heart rate monitor, and you’ll eat through around 50% battery in one go.”

      • Lol, thanks for the review, it is appreciated. Shipping is free, and JB has a good return policy so it's a safe bet.

        • What return if you have opened it?

          • @CyberMurning: If it's trash, yes, not fit for purpose if battery is bad.

        • Shopping isnt free $4.99 or $¥.¥¥ registered

Also, to clarify, I want an Android Wear smart watch but haven't researched this one yet, so in this case bought first, research later.

    • Geez, people get salty and neg for little reason, have you never made an impulse purchase before?

    • +1

LOL the number of times I have missed a good bargain spending too much time rationalising or thinking about buying it.

Have seen that for 99$ before on an Amazon lightning deal.

    • +2

Does lightning strike the same place twice?

      • +2

Lockdown strikes the same state 6 times….

Nice looking watch, but a day battery life is pretty bad. I guess most people don't sleep with a watch on but still lol

    • A watch like this could be used as a dress watch or occasion watch, rather than daily driver, so a day battery would be acceptable in some use cases.

    • +1

I have this, i just put it on the charger at night when i plug my phone in. No big deal.

  • -2

i bought 1 so i can give it as a gift.
cheap price, but should be the regular price, lol.
i have a garmin fenix, so i laugh at these things.

  • +3

I own one of these watches. Solid make, get asked about it all the time cause they look good and feel great on.
Battery is pretty poor, daily charge, but used to that as you do that with a phone anyway.
Have improved the OS over time.
Got this as a gift over 4 years ago and still going as my daily watch. Was priced at $550 then, so for me this would be a bargain for sure

    • +1

surprised the battery survives 1500 charge cycles

  • Awesome looking watch but shame about the battery life.
