  • Got mine at $574 from JB 3 days ago, loving it so far. Took it out yesterday and it was spot on, easily syncs with Strava too

    • Any comment on its UI and loading? I'm interested but it's 2 year old technology and my name has a 5 that he says is sluggish as buggery.

      • No complaints but this is my first smart/fitness watch of any kind so I have nothing to compare it to. It's a bit menu heavy but once I figured out where everything is it was ok

    • Do you wear it when you're sleeping? Is it comfortable?

      • Yeah have worn it sleeping and it's fine for me, YMMV though - it's a bit on the heavy side

        • Cheers! Currently have a Venu 2 but want something with an always on screen. I'm thinking the Fenix 6S might be a better option for me due to size/weight.

  • Why Garmin is so expensive compared to fit bit etc ?

    • +5

A million more features, and therefore actually useful for people who are serious about the sports they are into.

  • +2

Got the 245M recently for $309. Its a great watch. If you want to save a bit of cash and a bit of weight but not lose many features its a good option.

    • I'm considering between theese two. Is the 245m still good considering it's 2 years old already?
      Thanks

      • I'm finding it great for my purposes (I mainly run, non-competitive), and use the music function. Also, I'm not really a "watch person" at other times so I don't use it much except for telling time, and look at the stats later online.

        A good write up: https://www.canaanvalleyhalfmarathon.com/garmin-forerunner-7…

An athlete might want the 745, and the gadget/watch fans might go with a Fenix Pro 6x or 6s - although all these options come with extra cost.

  • I would suggest call up jbhi and see if they can price match 549$ shipped

    • what store can you price match it for $549

      • You can go do any store. But sunshine in Victoria is the one I used

  • Just got an email from JB with 20% off all garmin today with code. If anyone wants mine PM me, can only be used once apparently.

Brings the fenix 6 pro down to $450ish.

    • PMed you, in case the deal is still going

  • Any tips to get this lower? Maybe gift cards?

    • +1

I managed to get one from jbhifi for about $440 using a 20% off Garmin items that was running recently and Suncorp gift cards.

      • I've added it to my Jbhifi watchlist and cart. Maybe I'll be lucky and get an email.

    • Amazon Prime has a further 5% off which bring it to 545.30. Just called up JB and they price match straight away. Paid using Suncorp Gift Cards for another 5%

  • Would JB Hifi match Kogan with a 10% targeted voucher? I can get it for $449 from Kogan but would prefer to not buy from them

  • They wont do anything with Kogan. I asked before price matching with Amazon as they are selling for $499.
