  • This or LG 34WN750-B ?

Not a deal - can be found at the same price at Mwave etc

Is USB C connect FHD or QHD

Going by link if says FHD?

  • Is a 34 inch ultrawide comfortable to use being a flat monitor? Planning to use this as a main monitor with my current 25 Inch in vertical orientation.

    • I've got that same configuration which is great and wouldn't do it any different but it is a curved monitor, I would find it very difficult without it being curved.

    • +1

I had a 32 flat, and then purchased 34 curved. Now I use 32 as a vertical monitor. I would recommend curved even for 32.

    • What's an equivalent recommended curved monitor?

  • The Kogan 34 IPS is WQHD, has USB C input, and is 144 hz https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-34-wqhd-ips-ultrawide-144…

Is there any reviews for it anywhere?

    • Yes I believe in other threads, search the site.

      • Careful because the white one looks different model to the black one.

The black one is a qhd monitor but over USB-C it notes it only outputs at FHD not QHD

    • +2

I think Kogan uses Samsung VA panel.
But it's >$600 and just offer 1 year warranty. Totally not worth it.

I didn't see this post - but I had ordered it last week and it arrived today! I decided to take a punt as there are no reviews for it, finding something with similar features is a bit more expensive (Power Delivery over USB-C, IPS, 75hz, 3440x1440).

    My mini-review:
+ The stand has a huge amount of adjustment and is metal and rock solid and general build quality is great
+ Picture quality is very good
    - Bezels are good except the bottom one, which is a bit thicker than the equivalent Dell/LG/Samsung
    - Controls are in the bottom bezel which might be why it's a bit thicker
    - When I was scrolling on a document/webpage I could hear a sound from the back of the monitor… turns out the speakers make white noise only when scrolling… not a deal breaker for me as I just turned the volume of the speakers to 0 and it stopped. It may lead to future problems, but it has a 3 year warranty so I'm not too concerned.

This the first time using an ultra-wide without a curve and it's not an issue because i'm sitting about 70-80cm away from the screen. If you're any closer, I'd probably recommend a curved screen.

Other Ultrawide alternatives I looked into were:
    - LG Ultragear 34GL750-B 34 Inch Curved WFHD IPS Gaming Monitor, 5ms (GTG) 1ms (MBR), 144Hz, HDMI, G-Sync Compatible, HDR10, Black
    - DELL P3421W 34.14INCH WQHD IPS CURVED USB-C MONITOR
    - Kogan 34" WQHD IPS Ultrawide 144Hz USB-C Freesync HDR Gaming Monitor (3440 x 1440)

So… to summarise - I'd recommend it if you want USB-C with power delivery, 75hz and IPS - I reckon you can't go wrong.

      Thank you.
Yes - I could not find any review for this model.

I went through exactly the same list of alternatives:
      - LG - not USB-C
      - DELL - about 2x the price of AOC
      - Kogan - looks nice in photos but could not find any reviews, 1 year of warranty and general quality of service from Kogan

Now I am thinking AOC might be a reasonable choice.

      • I'm searching for something that is a 32 inch monitor with USB-C and less than $500. Any suggestions?

        • Choice is very limited with this budget if USB-C PD is a must, you may be able to get the Samsung S6U (QHD IPS 2K 75Hz 90W USB-C PD) for just under $500 at one of shopping express or ebay15% off sale.

          • @deliriouss: Yeah, I realised that after additional research. Willing to go down to 27 inch. Anything you would recommend with USB-C?

            • @first in line: What's your use case? productivity/gaming/multimedia?

              • @deliriouss: Work. Will be using it for Graphic Design and 3D Modelling. Not Gaming.

                • @first in line: For your use case, Asus PA278CV may be the most suitable choice, it's a little above your budget but worth the extra. If budget is tight then Gigabyte M27Q is another one to consider (good colour performance but BGR pixel arrangement affects text clarity for PC users and it can only do deliver 15W of power through USB-C).
With your budget and use case, I think investing in a separate usb-c dock then pairing it with the like of S2721QS would be a more sensible choice, as budget monitors with built-in USB-C hub and capability of 60W+ PD are hard to come by.

                  • @deliriouss: Thanks you for that! Really helpful.

I am now deciding between these 3. Work is paying for it with budget $500. Which would you go for?

                    • @first in line: The S2721QS is a tested and proven OzB favourite, it was $300 during EOFY sale, I don't think you can go wrong with it at that price. If you don't need it in a hurry, then just wait and grab it at the next Dell ebay store sale (which happens almost monthly).

                      • @deliriouss: Have to order it on Monday. Can't delay as I need it for work. Would you still go for the refurb Dell instead of the other 2 new monitors?

                        • @first in line: The short answer is yes, out of the three, I would pick the S2721QS.
The S6U is pretty new and I haven't seen it in person yet, but I believe it is more of an office monitor. It is 2k vs the 4k on the other two. Personally, I tend not to consider lower end LG, as there are usually better bang for buck options around. I only consider LG if I am in the market for a high end monitor.
Not sure if you are a PC or Mac user, Dell monitors are known to have some compatibility issues with Mac and that's the only major drawback I can think of.

                          • @deliriouss: Oh no. I'm a mac user. Macbook Pro 2017 model

                          • @deliriouss: Ok, last monitor before I choose the Dell

What do you think of this one?
                            https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/monitors/25plus-inch/893…

                            • @first in line: The one in the link uses a VA panel, stick to IPS panel for graphic design type of work.
For under 27" non-gaming monitor under $500, my personal picks are Dell S2721QS (best price around $299) and Gigabyte M27Q for Mac users (best price around $320).
M27Q is only 2k but has a wider colour gamut, more additional features and faster refresh rate than the S2721QS. The S2721QS on the other hand, has a higher resolution, more adjustable stand, built-in speakers and better warranty.
If you choose the S2721QS, just make sure you have a compatible USB-C adapter as some adapters/cable are known to have flickering issues when paired with a Mac.
Another one you may possible consider is the BenQ PD2700Q, that one is a professional design monitor with factory calibration for colour accuracy.

                  • @deliriouss: Thanks for the 2 models you recommended. Unfortunately can't go over the budget

            • @first in line: For 27" with USC-C Power Delivery, you, may consider Philips 272B9 - ~$309

              https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/monitors/25plus-inch/844…

      • No worries.

I've had different monitors in the past and for general office stuff and consuming YouTube content I'd 100% recommend this.

The only things that are low key bothering me are:
        1. That weird noise when scrolling (if the monitor speakers are on - which has now gone)
        2. The slightly large bottom bezel with controls

I am however very tempted by the MSI PS341WU 34INCH ULTRAWIDE WUHD NANO IPS 5K2K. But that's nearly 3x as much!

        Ideally I'd prefer this resolution but a smaller screen… Like 29" @ 3440 x 1440. I don't think anything like that exists unfortunately.

        • I guess for 29" Ultrawide. 1080p is sufficient.

But choice is too limited. Only LG does 29" ultrawide, and without USB-C Power delivery.

    • Have you figured out how to use speakers?

      • +1

I don't intend to use the speakers so I never looked into it! I'm not sure if it's a one off or happens on all units.
