Want to buy the Ultimate Laptop. No Budget

I've been given the gold ticket on buying a new laptop and can spend whatever I want.

I'm after the best laptop that money can buy.
(please don't suggest dumb gold plated custom jobs). Must be commercially available.

All review websites (verge, etc) seem to be funded into saying what is "the best".

I know this is the opposite of "Bargain" but absolutely love the honesty and knowledge of the OzB community.
Any OzB fan suggestions of the dream gaming laptop?

  • What about an M1 MacBook Pro and a Gaming PC?

    Best of both worlds.

    • unfortunately, I'm only entitled to one device. has to be a laptop.

  • Probably consult this list

Is OP the $80million powerball winner?!

    • Question would be , what is the best McLaren that comes with a laptop ?

  • +3

    Lucky you!

When you get your ultimate dream laptop money can buy, can you offload new lenovo to me?

You have just bought a lenovo laptop here

    • The previous was a "budget laptop for the Mrs. to play cs:go and age of empires".

I guess OP is entitled to ~$20,000 a year to spend with work-related stuff, which often includes Laptop, headset, etc.

  • HP x360 Spectre of they are still doing the i9 version?

    I've got the i7 g10 in a 15" with 16GB and 1TB SSD with a GTX. While I wouldn't say it 'the best', it's pretty damn good.
Slip, convertible, stylus, added nVidia GPU, Optane SSD (slightly older now), etc. but great for my needs.

Was just under $4.5k from memory.

No Optical - but for an extra $150 you can get yourself an external Bluray drive as I did.

If it was 2017/2018 I would have recommended this 21 inch monster of laptop. It's not so impressive spec-wise in 2021 though I don't think anything else like it exists

    • +1

I remember wanting that laptop so badly.

  • Could help with more detail such as… what you're going to use it for? Gaming? No Gaming?

    • definitely gaming

  • Legion 7 rtx 3080 would be my go-to if I had infinite money. That or a Zephyrus duo if a dual-screen setup tickles your fancy (would be quite the flex)

    • I agree. No need to spend that much more.
