Ahhh okay cheers good to know then. I might just wait then. Only got 3 more weeks left on my subscription. Hopefully they keep this offer running or allow existing accounts to join shortly

  • cancelled Amazon Prime account - option was to instantly cancel - but then said not eligible :( might have to start a new account

  • Took Amazon Prime 12m for free this is amazing. More free skins for my LOL game

  • I’m in the big boat with others with existing prime accounts (only a month). Wondering if anyone can advise if, rather than cancel it, use a new or different Amazon account with a secondary email. I have 2 accounts. Would I have to set my Optus account email to the secondary email address first before applying?

    • i cancelled - got a refund on the spot - waited a bit then re-activated

  • Thanks Op. Just in time to renew free 12 months Amazon Prime.

  • Not available to small business customers 😠😠😠

I have an active postpaid account with optus but I am getting this!

"Optus SubHub is currently available for customers on eligible Optus plans who receive an Optus bill. We're adding support for more payment types soon, so stay tuned for updates."

"You are ineligible for Optus SubHub.

Please link an eligible Optus account to unlock the features of Optus SubHub and link your subscriptions."

    Anyone knows what is wrong?

    *Edit:

They have activated it for me manually.

    Free Amazon prime 🤩🤩🤩

    • @Sharah - can you tell me where did you find this deal? I cant find in the My Optus app?
Or did you call the Optus support?

      • It's not in optus app. Just use the direct link provided and log in using your email address of your optus account.

  • +1

Am I understanding this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/644853 properly? You can get 80gb data, unlimited calls and optus sport for $27.50/month by buying a prepaid sim, porting your number to the prepay sim, then signing up to the $27.50/month deal? Or do you need two separate accounts with them? Then you can sign up to this deal with Amazon prime membership - correct?

I'm currently with circles.life and paying $28/month for 100gb (I get nowhere near that).. And I want access to optus sport. Amazon prime would be a huge bonus too though!

    • Never mind, just called up and asked for the 50% off deal and got it. Will sign up to subhub once i get my sim and can activate.

      • So not even bringing a second number over?

        • Nope. Just the one number

  • +1

Subscribed using my other email and number, thanks OP @miccas!

    • Did you have to change the registered email you have with Optus first?

  • Just saved me $60, cheers op

  • Never had it before and now i do.
    Thanks, OP

  • I’m on monthly prime membership, if I cancel the subscription now would that affect my subscribe and save stuff or pending items that’s arriving soon? 😕

    • I think subscribe and save is separate to prime

  • +1

Thanks OP. Managed to cancel my yearly membership that was ending in Jan 2022 with immediate effect via online chat, and got a refund for it too. Signed up SubHub within minutes without any issues!

    • +1

Mine was valid until July 2022, got full refund. Then sign up this offer

  • Do we know when the optus sport included will end ?

    • +1

Not any time soon. It’s been free for 3 years at least since I first signed up for a post paid service with Optus.

      • Nice. I was with Optus for years now but not watching sport. It is good to know

  • Can you cancel the subscriptions and keep benefits so not auto renewed?

    • +1

There doesnt seem to be any payment information taken so its all done through Subhub, i imagine they will send a reminder near trial expiry

  • +1

Any chance this deal gets pulled early? I have prime till the first week of September.

    • t&cs state it can be withdrawn anytime, so if it gets ozb'd and they decide they're losing money, they will yank it.

      • where do you see terms and conditions?

        • its on the first page, someone posted in the comments. 'Offer available until withdrawn' So basically they can stop it at any time

  • +1

I pay prime month to month & it renewed 7th August. Cancelled through chat easily & signed up on this deal within 2 minutes. Thanks OP!

    • Did you have any subscribe and save stuff saved or like pending orders? I am on monthly amazon prime too but not sure if that would stuff my orders…

      • Update: just chat to amazon they said won’t affect my current orders

    • Any pro-rata refund on the monthly?

      • Unfortunately no, as they say you have already used a prime benefit. Like postage etc. I haven’t cancelled my prime yet as I still need to figure out what I need to do - do I suppose to cancel then select the prime membership on Optus or doesn’t matter when?

        • +1

I cancelled Prime via chat - then applied the offer on Optus SubHub.
(It's worth cancelling if you think of it as $7 for whole'nother year)

You should try linking it first before cancelling and see if it does anything. I only thought of that after the fact.

          • @capslock janitor: Will let you know how I go! Thanks!

          • +1

@capslock janitor: Done - no prorata but I was only a week off before my month is due. And like you said worth doing it. Very simple - chatted to them and clicked the link and bam - prime membership again! Ty

  • Looks like I need to wait until my current annual prime sub ends on October 30, cancel it then and then sign up again via Optus. It seems if I cancel now it will end immediately and I would forfeit the remaining time.

    • +1

I cancelled my early 2 months ago and they refunded the unused months pro-rata. Something like $29 or so.

  • Thanks OP.

  • +1

does anyone know if the current offers expire any soon?

    • +1

t&cs state it can be withdrawn anytime, so if it gets ozb'd and they decide they're losing money, they will yank it.

      • so if it gets ozb'd

        😅 that’s not an if it’s a when

  • Good deal, got Amazon Prime and Kindle unlimited with my Optus NBN.

  • +5

Wow this is great value Optus, totally shits all over Telstra Plus

    • the points are worth more, if you exchange it for credit phone.

  • +1

Is anyone on a discounted Optus trying to link their account? I am currently on a $35pm plan with 25% discount bringing it down to around $26 but when the Optus Subhub asks me if I want to link that account, it just says $35 plan. I am hoping signing up to this won't void my discounted plan…

    • +2

I think its showing the $35 plan because thats the plan you are actually on. The 25% discount is an add on to that plan. Well thats the way it used to work when I was an Optus drone many years ago. Subhub would just be reading the plan name from the billing system.

      You should be fine.

    • +1

I am on a discounted plan, signed up without issues

  • +1

Thanks, I knew the old post paid account I have with Optus that has no mobile numbers attached would come in handy one day!

12 month free Amazon Prime. Thanks Optus.

  • Signed up to Amazon Prime, Sport & Kindle thanks OP

  • +3

Got this offer with the amazon prime
    $10 for Echo Dot
Not sure if I need it, but bought one anyone

    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07PJV9DHV

    • Got the same offer.

    • +1

comes in at $59 for me - boo

      • There should be an email sent to you from amazon

        • yeah i wondered that too .. but nah nothing's come in.. checked Junk, spam etc

          • @swampson: You can try add it into the cart and go to check out. Showing as $59 but come down to $10 when check out
This only eligible for new prime customer. Unsure if you had prime before….

            • +1

@ComputerPC: thanks for the idea - yeah i tried that as well.. sticks at $59
              never had Prime before
i'll try via their Chat again, but they were not helpful yesterday, the guy suggesting i check the date is within the validity period!
              "03 August 2021 09:15 AM AEST and 9 September 2021 11:59 PM AEST"

              • @swampson: ah, it's popped up in the order page now .. a small text banner "Your price at checkout is $10"
                happy days

  • Would this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/630126 be considered postpaid?

    • +1

Anything that’s brings a monthly bill is a postpaid. Not locked in contracts, month to month but still a postpaid. Hope this helps.
      Cheers

    • I signed up to prime on that deal yesterday so yes it is considered postcode

      • Which postcode 😉

        • Postpaid but of auto corrected 😄

  • Being stingy and cancelling my Prime membership has paid off. Awesome! Thanks for posting MiCCAS 😁

  • Just FYI you can cancel prime membership and get a portion refunded then use this

I got $53 back from yearly membership, was just under a month in.

    • I had 3 weeks left of my annual membership and they wouldn't refund. Cancelled anyways and redeemed this. Had to because this offer is definitely getting removed early due to getting ozbargained.

    • +1

Did you do the cancellation through live chat or was this just through clicking on ending your membership? I’m in the same boat of a month in with a yearly membership

      • I went to live chat. The customer service person was really struggling and it took them like 30 minutes. I responded asking a question and they didn't reply so I just closed the ticket window. 10 minutes after it was done and then I went into subhub and added it through there.

      • I just did this through live chat and asked for immediate closure - not waiting for my membership to expire. I don't think you can do this yourself online. Didn't get any refund but I only have a few weeks left.

Checked my account and Prime was gone (it offered to sign me up). Clicked on the subhub offer and it was done.

      • Clicking to end on site. Went through prompts and final page me mentioned refund

  • +5

This has to be the best deal of the year for people who are already with Optus and Amazon prime. Cheers OP.

  • +1

Thanks OP! My membership was running out tomorrow. I quickly renewed with this before the offer is getting OZbargained! I don’t understand why Optus is offering that but I take it!

  • +2

Worked, cancelled via chat. My sub ended in 2 months, 12 months is A okay for me

    • I cant find the chat link for Prime on there webpage wouldn't by chance have a direct link? cheers

      • i found it from : scroll to end of main page, click 'Help', 'Need more help?', 'Contact us', choose relevant item under section (1) and (2), then (3) will display Chat

maybe there are easier ways! Only took couple seconds/clicks for me this way tho.

        • +1

can also do on APP > bottom right menu > scroll down Customer service > scroll down Contact us > CHAT ez

        • +1

          Thanks found it cheers

    • +1

SUCCESS HERE TOO - worked even with a week left before cancel

yesterday they said I used prime Video which is BS so no pro-rata like $1.75wk lol

  • They won't refund prime yearly sub if you've made more than 4 orders according to live chat.

Edit: Got another agent and they pro-rata refunded

    • On live chat now, I've got 5 months left. They are being such a pain and won't refund pro-rata. So frustrating.

      • +1

I had the same with 7 months remaining. Just got a new agent and explained my frustration. Eventually they gave in.

  • Does one still get all the other free benefits signing up with Prime through Optus

As an Amazon Prime member, you have access to:
Prime Delivery: Fast, free delivery on millions of items on Amazon.com.au
Prime Video: Unlimited streaming of Movies, TV shows, and Prime Originals
Amazon Music: 2 million songs, ad-free, included with Prime
Prime Gaming: Free games and in-game loot
Prime Reading: Selection of over a thousand top e-books, comics, short works and more
Exclusive Deals and offers, just for Prime members

    ?

    • I dont think Prime has different tiers of membership, you either are a member or you are not (but I havent used this offer so dont know for sure)

    • Yes, I got excited last night and checked. You just click on those links and sign in to your Amazon Prime Account.

Just saved $16/m by leaving Optus to go to Aussie Broadband. This is a nice deal if you want to go with Optus but their plans are not competitive at this time. I’ll save much more money by taking the deal I have than through this one.

  • Just wondering anyone use this for 12 months as wondering if one can get another 12 months free Amazon Prime or is a once of thing?

  • I have the 3 months trial on Optus for mobile broadband. If I cancel it will I still have a free subscription to Amazon Prime for 12 months?

    • Actually I used the 3 months trial on Optus for mobile broadband plan to sign up with Amazon Prime so had the same thoughts too,.. well I will be cancelling my 3x 3 months trial on Optus for mobile broadband plans at end of next month so will let you know how it goes as I was worried initially I might get charged for Prime or something,..

but I just realised the free 12 months Prime/Optus SubHud is tied to the account number of one of my plans so I guess when I cancel my Optus data plan ill also loose the free Prime as the Prime is charged to my Optus account billing for that plan showing currently $0 for this month, I can actually sign up another 2x more times of free Prime with each of my other data plans

Now I'm worried how long this deal will go for but I have a feeling its going to be a long term offer for Optus postpaid customers but maybe a one off per account, more info link below, there also going to introduce a Netflix and Fetch deal and there are few other deals

I might chat to Optus to see how long this deal is for

      https://subhub.optus.com.au/

      • +2

Looks like the prime subscription is month to month so will need an active optus account.

    • +1

Can you test whether it claims you are able to get the $5 fetch mini subscription from https://www.optus.com.au/entertainment/tv-movies-music/fetch…

      • ill have to remember to get the $5 fetch mini subscription before my $7.50 data sim promo ends in 12 months and then cancel the sim and keep the $5 fetch mini subscription and amazon for another 12 months. do they send you a free set top box?

  • +3

Thanks OP. Works with my $0 plan from five years ago. :)
