Refer to this blog post we made for an example: http://blog.warcom.com.au/article/ethernet-networking-cat6-c...

NB: Certain cable combinations may include a shipping charge. If this does occur, please simply note "Ozbargain" in the customer comments section during your checkout and the shipping cost will be removed prior to processing the order. Thanks.

Thanks for bringing that to our attention — fixed now.

  •

Is there any benefit using cat6 instead of cat5e for such short cables?

    •

I did a quite Google search (because I asked the same question) and apparently there's not much difference?
      http://www.cat-5-cable-company.com/faq-cat6-v-cat5e.html

Someone, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
And if I'm wrong … I might order another two CAT6 (if that's allowed, since I've already ordered two CAT5e)

      •

When I saw that Cat-5e handles Gigabit I thought I'd stick with that

    Be wary of these guys…

They recently sent out a "February" email offering $10 credit if you purchased something from the same email. The email seemed to apply for the entire month of Feb due to it's title. No expiry date was mentioned on the discount. I did want to purchase something, but I didn't have time to look up the specs. So I clicked the discount link, saw no expiry mentioned, so I thought that gives me time to look up the specs. A couple of days later came back and clicked on the discount link - only to be told it was valid only on that day the email was sent. And when was the email sent? It arrived in my inbox about 4pm.

Oh well I thought - missed out.

Then about a week later they sent out a second sale email. It had the same item I still wanted AND the same discount. So this time I click it immediately to go and purchase the item. But it says it expired a week ago.

So I email them and the short version is, they tell me it's a mistake and refuse to honor it.

And yes, I have purchased from them in the past. But I still think people should know when a business refuses to honor their offers.

No doubt they have some bugs getting their website to reflect their promotions, but as far as online resellers go - I've found warcom to be one of the best, up there with PCCG. Delivery has always been very quick with warcom.
Pity they didn't honour the promotion you encountered in light of the confusion you experienced, they are one the few online stores with an active staff presence. They even maintain a blog which is nice compared to the usual e-tailer which is just a front-end for some overseas wholesaler. Used to be more interesting when they talked about the state of Australian technology retailing.

Yeah, I don't get it. Although, the order I placed was a few years ago. (So perhaps it's different staff now, who could care less about reputation - who knows.) I contacted them 3 times to politely inquire as to the chance of them honoring their mistake. But nope - bad luck buddy, yes we admit our mistake but we won't honor it - click our $5 discount instead. So I bought it elsewhere $10 cheaper (a saving of $5 over buying it from them after their discount).

Are you the person, who advised us that you missed the deal, because you were sleeping at the time… ?

      •

        Er, no.

Makes me wonder how many others missed out.

  •

Thank you Warcom for honouring the "Ozbargain" note! :)

  •

Had some problems with warcom not honoring newsletter discounts as well. Not a company I will be doing business with again.

    •

Can you tell me more about this? I'd like the opportunity to look into it and resolve the issues for you.

  •

    Hi warcom,
do you sell CommScope Cat6 in carton? (305m)

  •

Still waiting for my cables. Ordered on the 28th.

    How long should it take?

  •

    Got mine. Ordered on 29th.

Was a bit sad it didn't come in the seltek bag. Otherwise good.
